"Short weekend break"
We were staying for a friends wedding so we were only here for the night and left very early the next morning but our stay was very comfortable and easy.

"No wireless, hot water or bowl of fruit,"
On providing feedback on having no hot water for shower , we were then made to feel we had done something wrong. She did not believe that we had no hot water. She gave us another room but then at 11.0 pm insisted I got out of bed to discuss our dog which she had forgotten we had. We were too frightened to ask about wireless and did not stay our booked 3 nights .

Paid extra for jacuzzi bath but unable to use as jets dirty. No central heating in bedroom of room 16 if anyone needed room in winter. The cleaner very pleasant but owner very unpredictable. My friend asked for heating to be put on in her room as it felt damp and she was told by owner she could leave if she didn't like it without a refund!!!

"Cold, wifi less, over vigilante obsessive owner"
Stayed for a night to discover Tenby on good Friday! The Room was cold and it seams like the heating is timed and only switched on at owners own discretion so the Toilet and room gets very cold. The owner is too much. At first she seams friendly but after 5 minutes she just turns to be your wrist nightmare, Seams that she had been spying on as all the time ! Every move you make she is there. Extremely expensive breakfast! NO INTERNET CONNECTION! No 3G in Tenby so at least for the price we paid we expect wifi to be working but it didint You not go back and definitely would never recommend it

"It was ok, but £20 too expensive"
80's styled room, chintzy decoration, sharp glass shelves in the shower, breakfast £11 per head on top of the price. So many other places are doing it better for less.

"Col Cold Cold but No heating"
Dissapointed as I searched online for 4 star hotel and this was found by your system- a bed and breakfast minus breakfast. Extremely cold as the heating was not switched on through the night but for 1 hour when we got in for the night at 10.00. We were out all day both days. For the price we paid there were hotels with heated rooms throughout day and night and proper reception and lounge and bars. This place is appallingly deceptive in the description and we were fooled into paying for cold experience. Please please do not book to go in unless you carry a portable heating device with you.

Not a good reception on arrival, room next to the utility/wash room, bedding not fresh, towels dirty- not washed, room & bathroom not warm enough, heating went off before 9pm, shower water only warm, hall and outside light shine in room, wi fi connection would not connect, tv limited only to freeview chanels. Breakfast extra at £11 each, very limited choices. With room rate and breakfast on top a very expensive night taking all the above into consideration.

Sauberes Zimmer in sehr ruhiger Lage!

"Pleasantly Surprised"
03/31/16 Alison S
Just returned from a four night stay, the room was in the guest house at the top of the driveway. Ground floor room with ensuite wet room. Immaculately clean with fresh fluffy towels. One downside no free wifi (as advertised) available in the guest house. Parking may be problematic if all four rooms were occupied luckily this was not a problem. Nearest pub a downhill walk for about 15 mins carry on up a steep hill for another 10mins and your are in Tenby town centre. Small garden available (not the one seen on the website) but a cosy lounge to use, strangely with no TV? Unfortunately Marianne was not well so unable to offer breakfast for the first two days but she did offer breakfast for the remaining two days. We declined as we found a smashing cafe in Saundersfoot offering a full English for half the price. No problem with Marianne she was polite friendly and happy to advise on the local area.

"Couldn't fault it"

I was a bit apprehensive as we arrived after reading other recent reviews but no need whatsoever. A warm, friendly welcome from Marion who couldn't have been anymore helpful showing us our room and how everything functioned. Great clean room, very comfortable king size bed and a very nice bathroom with skylight. Couldn't ask for anything more... Definitely returning soon, thank you for the stay

"Wouldn't book again"

Booked one night away, specified when making the booking our approx. arrival time and arrived well within this time. When we arrived the first thing the landlady said was "I thought you would've arrived sooner as you're only staying one night" Great welcome. There were a pile of boxes in the small hallway outside our room door which we had to work around to get in and out of our room and they were still there when we left. The Landlady told us check out was "BEFORE ten" and then said "what time will you be going? 9?" the bedroom was beautifully decorated and clean. the carpet in from of the bed was wet and the television in the kitchen next to our bedroom was on LOUDLY from 7.30am on the Saturday morning. Felt very unwelcome to say the least and glad I didn't pay the extra £9 per person for breakfast. Couldn't wait to leave. What a shame.

"Lovely guest house just outside of tien"

To say we were apprehensive after reading these reviews would be an understatement but I was v pleasantly surprised. We had a double room on the first floor of the guest house at the top of the driveway. It's a gorgeous old house with a beautiful lounge you can use. There are only 4 bedrooms within the building and having seen 3 of them they're all very spacious. En suite with either a whirlpool spa type bath or a large wet room type shower. Our room was comfortable and quiet. Marion was absolutely lovely, very welcoming and accommodating. We had a taxi into the town centre costing under £10. You could walk it on a nice day and it'd take around 20mins I'd guess. If you're not bothered about staying on the beach front or right in town then this place is perfect. Ample parking on site too. I'd stay again.

"Avoid - Avoid - Avoid"

We planned a romantic relaxing break for two - this place is not as described on website - no grounds as such to walk or relax in - or there might well be but not accessable to paying guests - I think they may be part of the landladys own accommodation. Very Rude abnoxious lady - when we arrived we knocked door to her house - no answer - rang - no answer - emailed to say we had arrived- no response- after spending 10 mins in the rain sat in car for a bit- the door then opened - we got out - she rudely shouted she was on the phone and told us to wait and then shut the door on us - we were gobsmacked ! She was a very bossy lady who clearly did not enjoy guests - accomdation not as described - rooms were nice and cosy but paper thin walls- no privacy - there were no showers only Jacuzzi baths which were nice but we were told not to use them in morning or night as they were noisy and other guests would complain ! Not handy when you want to freshen up in morn or before bed.... not a 15 min walk from tenby either - and lots of hills however cost £3 in a taxi... we advised landlady my partner was highly allergic to feathers so enquired about duvet etc - she rudely told us no feather duvets here ! However it was feather then she said that a previous guest had had an accident so she had been using her own feather duvet and forgot - I was then summoned to carry other duvet downstairs, fold it and take other duvet up - she was so rude---- we tried to ring her for another toilet roll- again no answer so had to walk to her house- she told we to be patient - pointing her finger - it was unbelievable....so we went out for day instead. The wifi also does not work and there is minimal parking - landlady got stroppy when we told her that our car was likely to get bumped if we parked where she wanted us to - this did not go down well either and we were told nonsense ! Would not stay here again - its more like a 2 star than 5 - and thank god we didn't have to have breakfast with her !

"Take your business elsewhere!"

Well where do we begin? The positives are always nice to start. Just 15 minutes walk to the beach and in a nice location. We stayed in one of the rooms with a spa bath. As you enter there is a lovely entrance hallway which is traditionally decorated. The rooms themselves are clean , tidy and well maintained. However..... The walls are paper thin. The main down with the Red Rooster is the lady owner. We made the mistake of having breakfast, this is where the lady owner voiced her opinions. She is the re incarnation of Alf Garnett, She is an elderly lady from London who doesn't really like Wales, doesn't like the hotel business, she was forced into it by her ex husband. Doesn't like foreigners, Indians, Blacks Muslims the list goes on. Quotes over breakfast included.... " What is it with the Welsh don't they work? All you see is Welsh men pushing prams, where are the Welsh women? In bed I suppose sleeping " " What is it with the Indians? They keep the women inside so they don't speak English" " You never see a white man in London any more they are all foreigners" My partner and I are from South Wales so as you can imagibe she really endeared herself to us. One quote to my partner who is an extremely petite, slim, hardworking Welsh lady was..... " I see you haven't eaten all your breakfast, mind you you don't look like you eat like a Hog! " What can I say, we will not stay here again!

Booked in for one night just after Christmas as we were visiting family,(Sorry for the delay Marion in publishing my review) Got to the Red Rooster mid afternoon was welcomed by Marion who was very welcoming and helpful, she showed us to our room which I would say was in a seperate block from the main house and was very nice,it was like a house on a house..The decor was really nice the room was very comfortable with a walk in wet room.. Tea and coffee were available it felt really homely, will definateley stay again.. Hope to see you soon Marion..

"Just ok"

This is a B&B not a hotel. For one night it is ok but I wouldn't want it to be my 'base'. The house has been adapted for guests but be warned the deviding walls between rooms are paper thin. You can clearly hear neighbouring conversations (even both sides of a phone call!!);TV and yes even bathroom usage...I kid you not! This is a good 20+ minute walk from Tenby town and is a downhill walk not too suitable for disabled. Decor is odd; a strange mix and match with nothing really matching but that is largely irrelevant. The place is clean and welcomes dogs - a big plus point. The bathrooms lack a shower instead having jacuzzis which is nice on a cold night. Breakfast is a bit of an unknown to be honest as its not included but can be ordered in addition. I don't honestly know this property has a 4* allocation as its facilities are just ok...probably 2* maximum. The host is very welcoming in an odd sort of way...reminded me of Sybil Fawlty!

Really enjoyed my stay at the red rooster roost, the owner was very welcoming and very personable. Cute little room which was very well presented and had good amenities, with a nice ensuite and outside the room was a nice quirky shared area. Me and my boyfriend loved it!

"Nice hotel but not what we expected "
10/22/15 Todd H Manchester, England, United Kingdom
Myself and partner booked 6 nights in September 2015 along with our 2 dogs. Initially when we booked our stay a price was agreed and were told we wouldn't be charged for the dogs as we didn't want to book breakfasts for the duration of our stay. Paid initial deposit and was promised a confirmation email, this eventually arrived in my inbox a few weeks later after making the booking and 2-3 phone calls requesting the confirmation. A week before we were due to stay I phoned the hotel to pay the outstanding balance and was told that we would be charged for 1 of the dogs, not an initial problem but was rather disappointed that our costs had increased by £70 and were not told prior to me phoning a week before. On arrival to the hotel we were greeted by Marion the owner who told us to wait at our car as the room wasn't ready but these things happen. The hotel and grounds are very nice, room was cleaned everyday and towels changed. Overall no complaints about the actual hotel, however the pictures on the website show a beautiful garden which we thought access was available but wasn't. During our stay we took our 2 dogs everywhere with us even at night time apart from 2 nights where we left them in the room whilst we went for a meal. We informed Marion of this which she appeared to be ok with, we explained the dogs had been out with us all day for over 8 hours and were settled in the room but on our return found a hand written note on the stairs stating our dogs had been barking all the time since we left, I found this hard to believe and a little over exaggerated. Anyway we apologised but were given a lecture about dogs being like humans, yes were well aware how our dogs behave and what their needs are. Each day we were asked where we were going and what we were doing, normally we wouldn't mind being asked this but felt like we were being watched. On our last night we were approached by Marion who instructed us rather than ask is to put our dogs in the car whilst we went out for our final night, personally I found this disgusting given the fact this hotel is advertised as dog friendly. All in all this hotel is nice, good location and would recommend a stay there (if you don't have pets) we don't feel that it suits people with dogs, the room we stayed in was right above Marion's living quarters and she also had 2 dogs who liked to bark which set our dogs off barking, we feel this is why our dogs may have barked whilst we were out. There were also notices stuck around the room which made us feel a little like children who had better not be naughty (see the photos)... The jacuzzi bath also had a crack at the back it it hidden by a bad repair attempt with some silicon. We won't be staying there again and the price we payed was far to much, service is ok, but perhaps a customer service course for Marion wouldn't go a miss. Also bin bags left at the bottom of the drive for the week we were there, hardly health and safety.
