Castle House - Canterbury

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel. We had a big family room with a good size bathroom. Breakfast was delicious with lots of choice. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Location was fabulous with a few mins walk to the centre. Thoroughly recommended!

The Castle House Hotel is a period hotel, and so has lots of character. However you still get all your modern conveniences and the interior is clean, well-maintained and bright. Nice shower and a comfortable bed. The staff are attentive, friendly and helpful. There was a little confusion about whether I'd already paid fully for my room or just reserved it online but this was eventually cleared up. Very friendly staff and lovely breakfast. Clean modern room, not the biggest but large enough for a couple of nights. Enough parking for 9 or 10 cars and only a mile from my final destination so ideal.

Dark room, uncomfortably soft bed. As for the shower/bath, the water didn't get very hot even at the full hot setting. Glasses at breakfast were dusty and unclean. The price included full English breakfast, and it's clearly stated that they offer an option for vegetarians. (Just to ensure, upon making booking we even informed to the hotel that we are […] vegetarians.) When we ordered vegetarian breakfast, it turned out to be a meat version with pork sausages and without fried tomatoes. Would definitely not recommend, and would never stay again. Read more

This is a pleasant hotel with friendly staff and a good breakfast. Perhaps a bit on the expensive side but the room was comfortable and clean and the breakfast plentiful. We invited my son and girfriend to breakfast for a charge very reasonable charge. The location is good. The room was not noisy.

Glimrende sted, tæt nok på byen, men også tæt på vejen ud af byen. Servicen var upåklagelig - fx fik vi hjælp til at printe nogle billetter, uden nogen tøven.

Wir hatten uns - nach dem Foto zu urteilen - auf eine ländliche Umgebung, ruhig gelegen eingerichtet. Aber das Hotel ist ein Eckhaus an einem der meist befahrenen Verkehrskreisel in Canterbury. Die Perspektive für das Foto muss von der Mitte dieses Kreisels aus erreicht worden sein.Wir hatten Wochen vorher bei Buchung um ein ruhiges Zimmer gebeten, […] nicht zur Straße gelegen; bekommen haben wir ein Eckzimmer direkt zum Verkehrskreisel, zudem lag unsere Zimmertür (ohne Zwischengang) direkt (1 m) gegenüber der ab 7.30 h offenen Tür des Frühstücksraums. Also: Zimmer 9 unbedingt meiden! Die sonstigen Dinge: Ausstattung, Frühstück usw. sind alle hervorragend, was nutzt es aber, wenndas Hauptziel eines Hotelaufenthaltes -der Schlaf - so gestört wird? Bei Übermittlung dieser Probleme an der Rezeption haben wir nur einen erstaunten Blick als Reaktion bekommen. Read more

Mycket prisvärt Guesthouse. Trivsamt rum, sköna sängar och bra badrum. Extra plus för gästbadrockar! Även frukosten var bra med "full english breakfast". Gångavstånd till centrum och tågstation, dock en del störande trafik med en stor rondell utanför fönstret.
