The hotel experience was really good and the people were really friendly. Also, the place was good. But there was some difficulty in reaching the place. Do call the owners and confirm about the address. Everything else was pleasing : location,staff,cleanliness and the hotel view...

While the people who own and run the B&B are delightful and friendly, I would not consider staying there again. The cabin in the photo is the only cabin, and what's left are upstairs 'bedrooms,' basically. My room had 2 small dormer windows and the slanted ceiling of an attic room. It was about 8x8. I was not at all aware that I would be staying above […] the owners in the main house.The next big surprise was the location. It's located 10 feet off the major road through Banner Elk, used by all manner of large vehicles. It was noisy and distracting. I understand from the owners that the problems I had in finding the B&B are in the process of being resolved, and the city will be allowing an actual sign with their name on it. Be aware (and it may be written there, but I didn't see it) that the breakfast part of B&B isn't actually on site - you receive a card for restaurants in the area that will provide you breakfast. IF you are using the B&B as a place to drop your bags while you spend all your time away, then this might be the place for you. If you plan on spending much time on site, I'd read the details very carefully. Read more

we sure did like our room very quite we did not have breakfast there but had breakfast ticket for a resturant near by only thing there was no tv in the room but we made out just fine

The highlight of the B&B is getting out. Breakfast cards were given to eat at 3 different locations in town. A great idea for those who want to get up and go, or sleep in. The B&B is in the attic space up a rickety set of outdoor stairs. We were asked to leave the exterior door unlocked which seemed somewhat reasonable if we could have locked our room […] under lock and key. We ended up lugging our personal things around all weekend. The owner's personal items were in the closet space and bathroom drawers, such as clothes, a swim suit, personal items and a turkey deep fryer?? The room and bathroom were clean save for the coffee grinds left over in the pot from previous guests. The bed was unbelievably soft and might as well been a water bed as every move we made rippled across the well worn mattress. Ultimately the B&B was inexpensive and we had an enjoyable weekend exploring Boone, Blowing Rock and Banner Elk. Read more

Very difficult to find - our Sat Nav kept telling us to turn right!! Good technology.Eventually, we went back into Banner Elk & went in the Chamber of Commerce building to see if they could help - & they very kindly took us up the road to the Guest House - which is on the left on the main road. NO SIGN - THAT INDICATES BANNER HAVEN B & B!!! Clean & […] lots of room at top of main house. Banner Elk cafe & Sorrento's are very good places to eat.Horrendous eyesore on top of mountain concrete block of flats!! All the locals - hate it too.Hosts were not around as a friend of theirs was in hospital. Kindly , left us note. Read more
