Tiny rooms and tiny bathroom. Floors dirty. Nice bed and tv. Friendly staff. Clean pool. Free parking and wifi although wifi strength poor. No dvd player.

Hotel is older but in fine shape. Old school Florida charm. Building had shifted some over the years and there was a definite slant of the floor. Room was very clean and stocked w all the proper amenities, including coffee pot. The only con was we needed a broom for all the sand we brought in from the beach just a few blocks away.Within walking distance […] to beach and a few great restaurants. We were just staying here 2 nights before our cruise. The hotel was only about 3 blocks from the beach. We probably wouldn't stay here again because parking was a problem. There were not enough parking spaces for the number of rooms. The staff weren't very helpful. We ended up having to park on the street and did find parking at one of their other hotels […] a few blacks away. The outlet in the bathroom didn't work. We asked for extra towels twice and didn't get them until late in the evening. Read more

Location was great however with no on site evening manager there is no control on guests who party late at night. 1st night there were ladies celebrating a bachorlette party and the 2nd night a few guests partied outside our room. I have no problem with people who want to have fun, but after 11 pm, guests should not be permited to party and disturb […] guests who want to sleep. In both cases, it was hotel guests who had to ask the partyers to keep quiet. I would have liked to come back to this hotel (great location), but until they control their "partying guests" I will not come back (also they need to spray the rooms as we found a cockroach in the room). The hotel was very clean, the hotel service was very good, and the neighborhood was good. In about 2 blocks you are at the beach and you can walk to restaurants and shops. The hotel has 2 pools and surrounded with plush plants. We enjoyed the hotel.

The hotel was very nice, as was the staff. It had minimal amenities, but its nearness to the beach and lovely neighborhood made up for this. We felt safe walking home late at night. The only downside was the noisy neighbors upstairs but have had this happen at 4 and 5 star hotels.We would return.

Hotel didn't give us the right room (we booked king size but got queen size instead). Floors are in horrible shape - deep chips revealing concrete underneath along with ugly color (although overall clean). A table in the room would've been more useful than 2 TVs (bed and multiple ac units were comfortable). Located above the more congested part of strip […] (which wasn't useful for us since we wanted to walk to shops/restaurants). Insufficient/unclear parking is first come/first serve, otherwise you have to park next to some open field that's not very clearly marked as safe (tow-wise) to park. Aside from the negatives it's good enough for a place to stay to save money while being in the Ft Lauderdale area. I don't see myself staying here again only because I would like to be closer to restaurants/bars like I do staying in South Beach. The location is good if you want to go out to the gay clubs in Ft Laud. while still enjoying easy beach access. Read more

Wonderful location! Very quiet, within several blocks of beach, and loved the pool areas. This hotel is sparse but clean. Beds were very comfortable. For the price, this is a great bargain! Am planning on another stay there next month!

The place is so romantic and tranquil. My husband and I came for our first trip to Ft Lauderdale . We will def be returning to the Winterset in Oct 2013. Rooms are spotless and the staff is so friendly and helpful . The pools are crystal clear and surrounded by beautiful Palm Trees . Just a gem of a find !!

Walls could not have been thinner! Could hear every word and sound from outside AND surrounding rooms. Guests loud until 330 am on 2 of 5 nights. No phones in room, no lobby service after 8 pm to request other guests keep noise level down. No blinds on glass door and room in walkway area, no privacy. Upon checkout I handed my key to office girl who […] said "ok", did not ask any questions and when I inquired about receipt or additional charges, said "no, you're all set".. This was the best room that we stayed in during our visit to Florida. It was only 5 min. from the beach and so very private and cheery at the hotel with nice clean pools and gardens. The 50's style North Beach Village area takes you back in time in a very classy way. I'd love to stay a week there sometime.

Immaculately clean. Great bed. Walkable neighborhood day or night. Located w/in 5 minutes of all beach area attractions and 10 minutes from downtown. Not great freeway access if that is important but only 10 minutes from the airport. We liked the mid-century art-deco motif. Quiet.

Overall very pleased. The staff was exceedingly helpful. We appreciated their call prior to our visit and the follow up information they sent to us. The rooms were spotless, freshly painted with hardwood flooring. Can't say enough about the Winterset. Originally planned a 3 night stay and ended up staying an extra night. Brought a friend for their first time to Ft. Lauderdale. The stay was great since we weren't in the hotel room much, the room was very narrow (barely wide enough to have room to walk around the beds. Other than that I would say its a great place to stay. Just make sure you get a bigger room unless you don't plan on using the hotel much.
