I have no complaints regarding my stay. I received a complimentary room upgrade when I arrived. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable. I travel for business, so I just a place to lay my head at night and get a shower. I'd stay here again and again.

The stay was great. Hotel staff was wonderful and the room was just enough for my daughter and I. Only one issue.... The floor we stayed on smelled like pot 24/7. I will stay whenever i visit my daughter at college.

The hotel was very hip and cool. I was staying with a friend and we wanted to stay around all the attractions. Hotel Pod39 exactly met our expectation. We have stayed there one night before our flight home. Room was very clean, same I can say about bathroom. I'd not recommend this room for people who need more space as the room is really small, no wardrobe at all. I loved staying at Pod 39. It was amazingly easy to organize my things in the small room, it's very well planned. The staff was fabulous, so friendly and helpful. It was quiet and clean in my room. So close to shopping, theatres and nice restaurants and convenient drug store & grocery items. I was travelling alone, it was nice to have convenient restaurant […] and roof bar too. Alex helped with shuttle bus scheduling and the woman that worked the front desk in late afternoon and evening - it isn't Sherry but I think close to that - even helped me zip up my dress before going out one evening. It was fun. I've stayed in many small rooms in NYC hotels but this was far and away the best designed. It didn't feel small; it felt hip and fun. Bar was super noisy but there are some great nearby and quieter spots for a meal or drink, e.g., the Park Avenue Tavern-- truly excellent and affordable. Second stay for me. Great affordable mid town hotel. Small but comfortable and efficient, and well designed rooms and amenities. Wonderful 17th floor roof top, outdoor bar and lounge area with great views. Easy access to all of Manhattan. This hotel is a find.

The bustling lobby and hip bar scene belie the quietude of this little gem. I have stayed in many hotels in NYC, but none as quiet as Pod 39. The rooms are small, but you know that from it's name. You can touch the bed from the doorway. Still, it's new and modern, clean and functional. There's barely any floor space, but the beds are comfortable (no […] hot duvets--thank you!) and you can actually open the windows!!! Most standard amenities are included: toiletries, hair dryer, HDTV. I never found a kleenex box (allergy season!) and they didn't provide wash cloths--only hand towels and bath towels. Large folks might be uncomfortable with the minimalist design. And sharing a room might be awkward as there is little bathroom privacy--the bathrooms are partitioned off with frosted glass walls. My smartly designed, dorm-like room suited my needs as a business traveler in town for a few days. But refusing to seat me in a comfortable lounge area of the nearly empty bar (even though I was only sitting down for a drink and some work before heading out to dinner) and opening the restaurant for breakfast 20 minutes late--not so smart.

Shower and toilet has no privacy.i had to leave room when daughter shower. Toilet near bed with glass see thru doors that offer no privacy.doors are frosted in middle only and no locking closure seal. Poor design. I will not go if my daughter or wife comes.women need privacy .

expected the room to be small but didnt realize how tiny it really was, they didnt have any washcloths and their bath towels were extremely small, no shower caps for the overhead shower, couldnt enjoy their roof patio that was advertised because it was so crowded with outside patrons from the bar.

When I had to travel to Manhattan on business, I searched for hotels that were under $250 and only a few 3-star or greater hotels were listed. What a pleasant surprise! Pod 39 was simple yet modern and comfortable. When one only needs a bed and shower there is a level of quality that is quite often sacrificed. That is not true here. I loved the modern […] look (ikea-like furniture, flat screen on the wall, and the European-esque shower/bathroom ensemble. My only two complaints would be the lack of a soap dish in the shower which necessitated putting the soap on the floor (Ewwwwww). Also, the clock/calendar combo on the wall was cool but the largest features of it as seen from the bed were the day and date. I already know what they are. I'm more interested in being able to see the time from the bed. (my husband didn't like that there was no nightstand but i didn't mind the lack of one). Thanks for a great stay. Read more

Largely a tourist hotel, with a fun atmosphere and bar. Stayed for 1 night for business purposes. Hotel doesn't have the business amenities that one needs with a longer stay, for one night it was fine. Quiet room and comfy bed were the highlights.

The pictures are not exactly what you walk into. I reserved what was suppose to be the bigger bunk room and it did look bigger on the website than the mini bunk room however after looking at both rooms in person they are pretty much the same thing just a tad bit bigger than mini.

The lobby looks like one belonging to a nice dorm. The staff were all very friendly and nice. There is a bar and restaurant off the lobby. Its was a great hotel very clean and modern. I was staying there when they were finishing the construction walking distance to grand central terminal and nearby to a few subways. Many restaurants and stores near hotel. Only that there was very little soap for the room that we stayed in which was for two people.
