Nice, quiet hotel with bungalows around the two pools and regular, large, comfortable, clean rooms for the those on a smaller budget. Very friendly and helpful staff, especially mgr. Steve who will take the time to explain the area and what it offers. Restaurant is a bit more expensive then on the streets, but good food and also has a bar with mixed […] drinks and beers. Breakfast buffet has omelettes, toast, coffee, tea, juice, milk, fresh fruit, and some local fare as well. Rooms have big comfortable beds and good internet, and regular and rain style shower heads. From pool you have direct access to own beach, but don't expect white sand type beach, This beach looks out on a bay where many private boats are anchored. This however, does not spoil sitting and relaxing on lounges on hotel deck, looking out at a large picturesque island in the bay. If you're looking for action, go to Patong. If you want to truly relax, this a good spot for that. Restaurants, bike rentals, and bars are all within a ten minute walk from the entrance at main road to which hotel staff will give you a free lift any time. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Nice hotel, very clean, staff helpful, good food at the restaurant although the service is a little bit slow, be prepared to pay a lot for taxiGenuine Expedia guest review

"Good hotel for budget-conscious"
The hotel is a great price for what you get. Breakfast is good and is served 6.30am to 10.30am with a mix of Thai and English breakfast with fresh fruit and salad in the buffet. We stayed in a standard pool-view twin room with air con and ensuite. All clean and tidy. Towels provided and changed everyday. The hotel pool is lovely, surrounded by trees, […] and there is a second pool which looks out to sea near the restaurant. The restaurant food is good, although a little 'westernised' for our tastes - we preferred to go out onto the restaurants on the main road to experience proper Thai food. The hotel itself backs onto the beach, but is down a long and dusty road so it is often necessary to get taxis because of the heat of walking. However, if you're feeling hardy the walk is approximately 10 minutes to the main road where there are plenty of shops. If sailing is your thing it is only a few minutes walk to the Ao Chalong Yacht club. The beach itself isn't the nicest, so it was great to have the use of the pool for swimming instead. The hotel staff were generally good. The hotel Operations Manager, Steve, is native-Brit and is excellent - knowledgeable and friendly. Many of the Thai staff are good, although some were slightly unhelpful on the last day when we realised that we had lost our printed tickets as they couldn't print them out for us. On the whole, though, we did feel looked after and could rely on staff to get us taxis and book tours for us. Taxis are expensive! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Decent hotel, can be better"
Clean but small. Away from all the happening places.Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel was very nice and right on the water. Breakfast not as good as I thought it should be. Swiming pools were great. Rooms good, but would book a villa if we ever go back to Phukett. Staff very freindly and helpfull. If you want to go clubing this hotel is a bit to far away from town. Overall a very relaxing and enjoyable stay.Genuine Expedia guest review
"nice and quiet"
food was realy good ,pool villas are nice but the pool view rooms are tiny not in a good location unless you hire a moterbike but nice gardens and quietGenuine Expedia guest review
Very happy to have stayed here, good value for money with the expedia saving, very quiet, secluded, although not easy to do things from here without taxi trips.Genuine Expedia guest review

Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Nice and peacefull"

We stayed 8 days in here and we found to be very relaxed and welcome. The staff is very nice and the place is kept very well maintained. Even being fully booked (60 rooms) we didn't found it to crowded in breakfasts or lunch/diner. Certainly further away from the busy beaches of patong and kata and other sights but very well connected if you rent a bike or car, no more than 20 or 30 minutes. We will stay again and if not will pass to say hi to Steve, and English pal very helpful with indications as many people point out! Good job guys!
"Great value for money. no swimming beach."

Ao Chalong Villa is a lovely resort on the east coast facing Chalong Bay, at the end of a long road (10 min walk, but a hotel golf cart is ever-ready to take you to and from the main road, rt. 4021, where there are many stores/restaurants). The view of the bay is excellent. However, there is no swimming beach, although at low tide you can walk along a sandy strip to the pier or the nearby Yacht Club bar. Contrary to other reviews, the pools were large and clean, although keeping them clean, with all the overhanging shrubbery, is an effort. The garden is excellent and well-maintained. Steve, the Services Manager, is English and very helpful. Breakfast is included in the room price. Fare is somewhat basic and adequate, but with little variety from day to day (I stayed 5 days) - juice and coffee/tea, fresh-cooked eggs and toast, cereal, bacon and sausage, one simple thai dish (eg fried rice or soup), salad and fruit. No extras like pancakes, yoghurt, pastries, etc. This is not much of a tourist area, which I liked, unless you drive down to the Rawai beach area. We rented motorbikes (200 baht/day) from Mike's (run by Mark, a very friendly australian), whose shop is nearby on 4021, so that it was easy to go to the Rawai seafood market, PhromThep Cape for the sunset, Nai Harn Beach, etc. There are many dive/snorkeling shops on the road to the pier. Nearby are many 7/11s, a Makro, and two Tesco Lotus stores.

Ten nights spent here, a calm and quiet atmosphere staff polite, friendly and always smiling. The room was clean but cramped (three single beds in a double room) staff always ready to take you to local shops and amenities either by golf cart or on back of moped and restaurant dished out fantastic food (credit to Odd and other chefs). However our group did have a towel, shirts and toiletries vanish from the room to no explanation. All though most disappointed by the hotels penalty charges for a missing room key that was taken from our room as we slept (DONT FORGET TO LOCK YOUR DOOR WHILE YOURE SLEEPING IT WILL COST YOU 1500 BHAT= £30). a bath flannel with a tiny bit of dirt and sun cream will cost you 250 bhat=£5 because staff said wouldnt come clean again (flannel used to wipe floor because rooms only swept out never mopped) and upon checking out tried to be charged for three glasses which wasnt in room to start with also charged for in house laundry that had all ready been paid for two or three times before . seemed if you blinked wrong you would get charged.Shame really and finally credit where due to an English bloke called Steve worked hard and very helpful drawing maps and listing of the best restaurants, bars and nightclubs where you wont get ripped off cheers Steve but unfortunately don't think ill be checking in any time soon............. .disappointed

Quiet hotel... Pool a bit unclean... But the beach facing pool is very nice... The staff us very cooperative and helpful. The hotel was near to the bug buddHa and wat chalong. Recommend hiring a motor bike from vendors surrounding the villa. The hotel is also near to many tours like ray talak tour ( which we used for phi phi island, mosquito and bamboo island tours) The hotel is at a 30 mins drive from heart throbbing patong beach. Rawai beach is the nearest
"Beautiful and serene"

The hotel is very pristine and calm. The rooms are a little cramped however the campus, poolside and the restaurant makes up for it. The staff are very courteous. The location is little off the way however the hotel runs golf cars with pick up and drop facility. The poolside is awesome during high tide at the night. The food is very good. Please try the massage in the spa. Very good overall.
"Great place at a great price"

We were there for two nights and we were pleasantly surprised - although a bit off the main road and a bit hard to reach at first, this place makes the most of its relative seclusion and surrounds the guests with a relaxing, no worries, friendly enviroment, privacy (as the rooms areas are scattered around the resort) and a chance to slow down. We had a basic room and it had all the basic amenities. Breakfast was simple, but it was served in a prime location, facing the bay.

Nice quiet hotel.. Really cosy and relaxing place.. A little far away from things, but good transfer opportunities.. The staff does not speak so good English, but there is a British guy there, Steve, who really made our stay pleasant and perfect.. We stayed there for 16 days and we might come back if Steve is still working there in a year from now..

Our stay has been a pleasure. We rented a villa with a sea view, and was not disappointed at all. The pool is really lovely with a view out over the sea and the small islands nearby, the staff is very polite, smiling, helpfull and very service minded. And that goes from the cleaning crew and all the way up to the managers. A stay here is recommended if you are looking for a quiet and warm place!
"Creative photos used to sell a poor hotel."
11/22/13 Riceyb86 Birmingham
Never had the phrase 'you get what you pay for' been more appropriate. We were bitterly Disappointed with our stay at this hotel: The rooms were quite dated with an odd layout, the hotel itself is a long walk from the main road, down a muddy track. The facilities themselves are poor, the pools are dirty and much smaller than the photos portray, there is limited sun light as much of the hotel is overgrown and the beach is not suitable for swimming or bathing. There was a knowledgeable English chap who was able to give good local information, and was particularly helpful. Other than that we didn't find the staff interested in its guests. We avoided the breakfast having seen how dirty the hotel was so can't comment on that, but given the state of the hotel it was probably a safe decision! It may be a cheap (value for money) hotel, but I for one would rather spend a few more $ for higher quality.
