We stayed in Arago for 10 days in Feb 2014. Actually no complaints. Apartment was clean and nice, also staff was very helpful. Spacious also as we have only 2 collagues needing 2 separate bedrooms. Location is OK - although taxi drivers mixed up the address (thank you for very friendly staff - Diego - who picked us up from wrong place) One minus only - could have more kitchen / cooking utensils. Would definitely book again.

Fantastic apartment, manager friendly and very helpful, the apartment was modern, warm, clean and very comfortable. Complementary bottle of wine, water, coffee, biscuits etc. very welcome. Would highly recommend. The only downside was the lack of cooking utensils, we found on Christmas eve we only had one small pan and two frying pans! not ideal to cook a full Christmas dinner which we intended, luckily we found a Chinese store open so were able to buy tin foil dishes so we managed but that was the only down side.
"after 6pm arrival & no staff !"

We had phoned through to say we would be arriving around 6pm & the staff member said we close at 6pm. My husband told him we had two young children. Upon arriving, we could not get into the apartment building & the office was closed. The number displayed to ring was a recorded message. We gained entry to the building through other guests arriving thank goodness as it was now dark & cold & they had not eaten. One of the guests gave us the mobile number of the staff member & he gave us the code number to the letterbox to get the key. As it turned out we were in the apartment next door. By the time we got in it was 8:45pm at night & we were exhausted. The after hours service needs to be improved as it is very inconvenient and not explained well. Thankyou to the Nepalese shop keeper around the corner who lent us her mobile as we did not have access to a phone. Apart from this, the apartment was lovely & about 20 mins walk to La Ramblas but no metro stations nearby. Supermarket in the next street which was great & butcher & fruit shop nearby. The apartment had a glass in the kitchen with a lipstick mark on it & there was a sewer smell when the bathroom windows were opened.
"Nice stay with our family"

I spent 11 days at Arago in February 2013. I was in Barcelona for business but brought my family with me. The room was clean and our small kids appreciated the big window to the street - they loved watching the morning traffic and gave us chance to enjoy our morning coffee undisturbed :) In case I'm back in town, will definitely considerate staying at Aspasios Arago again.
"Ok for two"

We chose this apartment so my buddy and I could have separate rooms but still be close for our mini lads’ weekend in Barcelona. It was however a shock to lie down on the sofa bed. A spike mat would be more comfortable. Fortunately it could be solved by moving one of the mattresses from the double bed and put it on the living room floor. The apartment looked nice and was well equipped, and the electronic card lock with additional mechanical bolts was a welcome security feature. However, the safe was out of order. Unprofessional detail to promise a bottle of wine which was not there. I should have expected a 20 room apartment hotel not to have a full reception, so I shouldn’t complain about that little hassle.
"Well equipped, location is a bit off-center"

The apartment was well equipped, including a capsule Espresso maker (with only 6 free capsules), dishwasher, and nice furniture. The environment was a bit disappointing - Asian grocery stores, tire stores, etc. You need to walk quite a while (7 blocks, ~20 min) to get to Rambla de Cataluña for some atmosphere. Also the Metro station is a bit far (3 blocks). Late check-in went extremely smooth, and after checking-out we left our luggage in the self-service 1-euro lockers. We needed 2 lockers and only one was available, so the extra-nice girl in the front desk stored our extra-luggage at her office, and at the end of the day put it in a locker that became available (at no cost), and called us to notify everything is fine. Bottom-line: a vey good experience.
"Not Great, Very Basic for the Price"

We arrived to our apartment on Tuesday night at 10pm - we had already paid a late check in fee due to staff only working till 7pm. In our confirmation email it gave us a code to unlock a cabinet next to reception so we could retrieve our room keys. After numerous attempts at trying to open the cabinet and having 'Cabinet locked' we rang the number left on the reception door. No answer and by this time it was 11.30pm and we were getting very anxious as it was dark and we were in a new, unfamiliar place. We walked away from the apartments very p***sd off and panicky thinking "we'll have to either head back to the airport or find a new hotel for the night" 12am we got a phone call from Diego (after walking 20 mins away from the apartment building) apologising for not answering his phone then asking us 'whether we were sure we had typed in the number correct' After a few tense phone calls we proceeded to walk back to the apartment and after having to persuade Diego to leave wherever he was to help us we eventually got into our apartment at 12.45am. In the morning we went to reception to discuss the previous nights complications and we were first greeted with no understanding from either of the staff, we were informed that nothing had ever happened like this in the 4 months Diego had been working there. This was very frustrating as we paid an extra 40 euros for having the privileged of not being greeted on arrival and waiting outside for over 2 hours. After much persuasion we were refunded this. The apartment was pretty basic - in the package we were promised a bottle of wine on arrival - this was not there. (this was rectified by Diego by offering us a bottle of Cava) We had no clean towels from Tuesday till Friday. There was a bad smell in the mornings and around 5/6pm when obviously everyone was using the bathroom facilities. The apartment didn't smell fresh or clean after the cleaners had been in. When the cleaners did come in they left the full bin bag of rubbish underneath the sink instead of disposing, by this time we had had enough of complaining and thought 'maybe its just us being too picky?' in hindsight I don't think this was the case I would definitely NOT recommend anyone to stay at these apartments, apart from the location there is nothing luxury or luxurious about these apartments apart from the price!!!!!

We have just returned from a lovely weekend in Barcelona and these apartments were just perfect. Modern, clean and comfortable. Great beds and 'proper' sofas and armchairs. A short walk to the Metro and two quick stops to Catalunya. The reception staff are also very helpful and polite. Highly recommended.
"Thoroughly comfortable base from which to explore the city."

The apartment was everything we wanted, and nothing we didn't need. We were two friends traveling together and each had our own bedrooms and our own bathrooms. The layout of the apartment was superb, and every convenience and item was provided in anticipation by the management. Yasmina and Diego at the front desk were personable, helpful, and accommodating, also very knowledgeable about nearby sites and restaurants. If you are looking for a worry-free place to stay within walking distance from everywhere, the Aspasios Arago apartments are impossible to beat. For us, we specifically sought to avoid the frills and extra luxury items that we did not need that hotels provide. At the same time, I would consider it a "luxury" to have everything item you would need - from soaps to coffee to every amenity. It is no coincidence that the word for 'detail' and 'gesture' are one in the same in Catalan. Absolutely A+ lovely all-around experience.

When we arrived at the apartment, we were told that the apartment we booked had plumbing problems, and they had to move us to another apartment at Tarradellas. We were not happy at all, as Taradellas had no reception desk, and was very basic compared to what we expected at Aspasios (supposedly luxury rentals ?). We did not have local telephone access, and had no way whatsoever to contact their management in case of emergency. In 2 occasions, we experience complete black-out of electricity, it was scary especially when one is in the shower. We did e-mail them after the first black-out but did not receive any response or follow-up from them at all. We feel that this is totally irresponsible on their management's part, esp that we are from Asia and not familiar at all with Barcelona. Furthermore, the reservation was unreliable, as we booked more than a month in advance. This is totally unacceptable, and we would not recommend anyone to make a booking there, after our experience. Very poor service and unreliable management.
