The hotel owner was very friendly and accomodating. The breakfast choices which were included were great! We arrived during a cold period and it snowed and was very windy. The heat was not sufficient in the two rooms we reserved. That is my only complaint. Otherwise would be a great place to stay in good weather.

great place. only downside was the bathroom was about 18 inches wide. my knees literally touched the wall when i was sitting on toilet and i'm not a big person! but i'm sure all the bathrooms are not that small. the towels in the room were huge and fluffy. breakfast was adequate.

We loved staying at Giovanni Rooms! We would definitely stay here again. You couldn't find a better location. The view is absolutely stunning. I think Manarola's the most beautiful city to stay in, too. The rooms are really nice and well kept. The only thing to keep in mind is that walking to the hotel from the train station is a little bit of a hike, just because it's near the top of the city. It doesn't take long (5-10 min.), but it's steep. It was fine for us, but a little bit hard on my older in-laws.

Arriving was hard due the closing of the roads, but the hotel is perfect for the location and a short drive to Riommagiore and Manarola,. The lady in charge was very helpful and understanding and the breakfast is fantastic, great deal.

"Good things come in small packages"
You are basically paying for a balcony with killer views, the room is smaller than a walk in closet. Not even enough room on the floor to put a medium sized suit case. The owner does supply a locker on the terrace for overflow items that will not fit into the room (everything except for you). Loved (loved!) Vernazza, Italy! I requested a view...and I got it! Amazing. Beautiful. We were awe struck! It did take about 268 steps UP, plus multiple walk ways to get to this room. But, it was amazing! We loved staying here. But lets get this straight, there is no phone, no tv and it's very tiny. However, we had mulitple balconies and sitting areas […] to sit and soak up this amazing area. It's also right at the start of the trail! Perfect! We walked up in the dark a couple of times without a flashlight. (Batteries were dead in the one provided.) We did use the light of a cell phone, but it was still treacherous. "not a hotel, boarding house"
It as a clean place in a good location, but it wasn't a hotel, by any means, just a few rooms for rent. It was nearly impossible to find person responsible for reservations and they didn't have a promised room with the view.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"UN HOTEL QUI NECESSITE D'ETRE EN FORME"
Dévasté par quelques inondations le village laisse un parking "auto" à 800 mètres du centre du village. Puis pour atteindre l'hôtel il faut encore gravir "quelques" marches. Autant dire QUELQUES! même l'accès à certaines chambres n'est pas aisée (colimaçon serré où il est difficile de passer avec une valise). Donc il vaut mieux être en forme pour choisir […] cet hôtel, ou à défaut prendre le train avec un petit bagage pour deux jours... ;) Il y a bien des chambres et des hôtels bien mieux placés et accessibles dans le centre.
