I had an enjoyable stay at the hotel. Everyone was helpful and friendly and it was a welcome respite.

The hotel is nice. The restaurant is great. The room is ok for a short stay..definitely not for a long stay. There were parts in the bathroom that had mold. The internet did not work in the room at all. It did work on the 1st floor lobby though. & they do offer a free (old) computer for use in the lobby. Stayed here for one night with my boyfriend. We were very happy with the stay - the room was clean, comfortable and a great size, the staff were friendly, the location was great, and to make it that extra bit better, we received a free glass of wine on arrival. Would definitely stay here again!

The hotel itself looks great, nice and cosy and modern. The rooms were also very nice but it was spoilt by having hairs in the bath when I went in. Apart from that it was A ok.

The Cosmo is one of the best value hotels in leeds . great location right in the heart of this busy bustling city . The hotel is clean and tidy and has a quirky art decor finish .I would recommend this hotel to anyone who decides to have a night out on the tiles in this great friendly Yorkshire city !

Food good, room ok, Offsite parking in a multi-storey car park round the corner, nightmare if you have 2 laptops a case and a suit bag! And a charge of £12 for the pleasure.

Firstly the staff were very polite and friendly, the beds were comfortable and the room very large especially for the price! However. The room was so hot it was like walking into a sauna and with the window only opening 3 inches ( i assume for safety) and there being another shutter meaning only half the window was blowing cold air in, it was unbearable. […] The staff told me there was nothing they could do and i should turn the ceiling fan on. Personally i find it hard to believe that in February, this particularly cold February, that it was impossible to have the room cool down.It is a shame as the facilities and comfort were impeccable but with the temperature so hot i could barely sleep I doubt i would stay again. Near the trainline so handy for the train station which is why i picked it, but gets some limited train noise. On a Sat night the noise from the nightclub next door can be heard but isnt too loud and I assume in the week this isn't on. They have a special deal with the q park near the hotel that is suitable if you drive in and seemed to be at £12.50 […] for 24 hours which is good for the city centre. Single room is decent and clean. and the hotel is newly refurbished. It's old name was the "golden lion" so you can find it on google maps/city maps. Near the hotel are plenty of places to eat, and good shopping available. Staff are well turned out and polite. Will stay again. Read more

I went to Leeds for a couple of days with my wife and wanted a Hotel on budget from where I could walk to main exhibition places in town. The staff were incredibly helpful, always smiling and expressing genuine concern for how confortable was our experience. The room was very spacious and the bathroom/toilet were modern and clean. Overall a great hotel […] to stay for the money we paid. I have to say though, my first impression wasn't great as the reception door is very small and the decoration of the hall is very cheap and tacky (my opinion) but once the smiling receptionist talked to us and we saw the room that was easily forgotten. The hotel is in a great location, centre of the shopping and only a 2 minute walk from the train station. The staff were very helpful and service was very fast. The hotel bar is perfect for have a couple of drinks in the evening and very reasonably priced.

Staff were all very friendly and helpful, and the place was clean. Decor was outmoded and tired-looking. Noise in the corridors was considerable, as was that made by the plumbing. Efficient check-in and the room was spacious and well furnished. Dated decor, all a bit 1990's and it had more of a pub feel than hotel. The hotel is very well placed only minutes frim the station.The room was small but contained everything needed for a short break away. The bathroom was clean and bright with a bath and a lovely strong shower. I didn't have much of a view, being at the back, but this may have saved me from road noise and shouts from people in the street. I didn't eat […] at the hotel but I looked at the menu whilst having a drink and it seemed very expensive. Unfortunately my stay was spoiled by the oppressive heat. I couldn't open the window more than a few inches and the creaky old ceiling fan was quite ineffective. I therefore hardly slept a wink in the stifling heat. Read more

Despite the website stating that the public areas have recently been updated, it's difficult to see where. The hotel had a 1980s feel about it and wasn't really what I was expecting for the price. The first room I was given was ridiculously hot, with no way to turn down the radiator and bar noise from outside which preventing having the window open. […] To the hotel's credit, when I complained, they sent someone up and moved me to another room. However, that room was also very hot and I had an awful night's sleep. The bathroom could also have done with a bit of an update - nothing worse than a clingy shower curtain... Considering there are far better hotels in the area in a similar price bracket, they really need to up their game. I won't be making a return visit. Read more
