The hotel is located right next to the train station and castle. The staff is great. and the room was comfortable, but not great.

I could not have been happier with my choice of a place to stay, it was perfectly located, very easy to find, and the owners could not have been more helpful with great advice for some things to see while in the area. I will go back, absolutely, if the opportunity arises to travel into the area again. The breakfast was one of the best I had this trip, extra stars for that.

The staff members were very accommodating to my problematic arrival, helping me by staying late to begin with, communicating through e-mail when my phone stopped functioning as a phone, helping me when my gps acted up. From a B&B I would have expected such help - I would not expect someone to stay until 1AM, and another staffer to remain up making sure via e-mail we got there safely. I am impressed. The room I had was clean, with a massive bathroom. Both the bedroom and private bath were probably the largest I had in Europe. The beds were large and very comfortable. Over all it had a very nice personal touch. Breakfast in the morning was good and again the staff provided great information about the surrounding areas. If I travel this way again, I will stay here again.

Room was well presented and homely with an assortment of games and literature. Small food prep area with fridge/microwave. Warm and comfortable we enjoyed... a 2 night break over new year. The pool is a nice touch and is worth booking for private swimming. Located within walking distance of Hadrians wall but just a short drive from haltwhistle. Julie was engaging and knowledgeable of the local attractions and places to eat. The room however has no real cooking facilities other than a microwave and would benefit from a hob of some sort to allow longer stays cost effective (evening meals are not yet offered) All in all a nice little retreat and well worth a stay. by a Hotels.com guest on 01/08/13
