Beautiful location, however it is a number of single track lanes to get there. Very friendly and helpful inn keepers. Great breakfast. Enjoyable to walk the 240 acre farm. Convenient to other local sights in Devon.

very pleasant. we stayed here last year and the hotel has been nicely upgraded. English Breakfast was very nice and less greasy than you might expect.Easy and short work to the center of Exeter.

This is a lovely hotel. We have stayed there a couple of times before and even though is was a "budget room" we had a sea view and it was also a large room. The only let down was the shower which was definitely not as goos as it could have been.The service was friendly and welcoming and the place had a good atmosphere. I would definitely recommend it.

"don't bother"
Found the hotel in the middle of town with parking right outside. Was shown to the room and on the way asked what time breakfast was to be told breakfast was not included despite being shown it was on the hotels.com page. One of the reasons i booked this hotel was for the breakfast as i wasn't needed to start work until mid morning so i had to travel […] to find somewhere to eat both at my own expense. Upon entering my room, i saw that where the radiator once sat, it is no longer there as it looks like it had been ripped of the wall and the pipes just left hanging. Sitting on the wafer thin bed, all i could hear was a dog wimpering somewhere in the building followed by a dog constantly running across the floor above my room. This continued for about 2 hrs being accompanied by people shouting as they left the pub via the side door. The room was ensuite but this was just a boxed off area with a toilet and shower with boxes and rubbish on the top. The fan which was in the ensuite ran for over 20 mins after the light was switched off but as the door had no handle i couldn't shut the door totally so had to endure the noise for the time until it switched off. As for toilet paper, there was only 3 sheets and no spare in the toilet. Not a lot of use to anyone. Went to have a shower in the morning to find no toiletries and the towel provided was a hand towel and being a guy of 6'4" found was sufficient to basically dry my hands. "Not ideal at all"
The room was damp and bedding smelled very badly.the carpet was very dirty. The towel was dirty . Window was not secure , causing the draft to come in and rattle the room door all night. I told the landlady I had to be out at 07.30, she said "fine". But I had to leave the key on the bar and find my own way out as the front door was bolted. I had to […] leave via an emergency exit.
