The owners were very nice, and the place was well run. Breakfasts were good; both vegetarian and "full English Breakfast". The room was clean and comfortable and the beds were comfortable. Our room was small but very cosy, clean and comfortable. The service was very friendly and efficient and we were less than 10 mins walk from the centre along the river - it was ideal for a long weekend with friends. We thoroughly enjoyed York and would recomend this B&B to everyone.

We were met with a warm, friendly welcome. The Guest House was very clean. It is not as modern or trendy as some places we have stayed in but the cleanliness and convenience made up for it. The breakfast was excellent.

Only really adequate for a couple of nights as nowhere to put the case other than under the bed - no use for anyone travelling with a lot of luggage. Very handy for the city and free parking. Breakfast OK but nothing special. Rooms very small

We stayed for a night and found the standard perfectly acceptable for our needs. The inclusive Full English breakfast was excellent. Location is within a reasonable walking distance of the city centre, ideally alongside the River Ouse which is reached down a short side street diagonally opposite Friars Rest. Absolutely amazing owners, service and rooms. A wonderful breakfast with multiple options and even caters for vegetarians. Perfectly located near the town (about a 15min walk) and even has a bus stop a few doors down that goes to the outlet mall! Couldn't have asked for more and it really made our trip fantastic!

Staff were really friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included and when I checked in it was lovely to have a vegetarian option available with veggie sausages. Breakfast was served between 8.15am and 9am and you could help yourself to a range of cereals, musli, and wheetabix. (I think the milk was semi). You can have tea or coffee to go with your fruit […] juice and they bring out a fried breakfast. You can choose white or brown bread and there is a selection of jams and butter. Booking through expedia, they emailed me to ask what time i was expecting to arrive and checking in was really quick. Our room was a decent size with an ensuite and fresh towels were provided the next day. There were new drawers and a cupboard, some of the upholstery and furnishings looked a bit faded but were all clean. Large Flatscreen TV and free wifi. Seemed a bit far from city centre but staff showed us a quick way - 10 minute walk along the river. Close to a lot of main attractions and other guests left their vouchers on the desk in the hallway for people to use. A nice quiet stay, would recommend. Read more

Friars Guest House er et rigtig hyggeligt sted, som jeg gerne ville besøge igen. Venlige værter, lækker morgenmad og fine værelser. Det ligger tæt på York centrum og tæt på universitet (ca. 20 minutters gang).
