A little pricey for what it offers. But a very convenient location close to Chennai airport for a short stop-over. It is located right on a busy road so sleeping late might be difficult because of the traffic noise. Breakfast buffet was reasonable if you want South Indian fare, but very limited if you don't.

We wanted a hotel close to the airport for one night, to catch an early morning flight. Hotel Mars fit the bill very nicely. Great service, decent room, reasonable price. The shuttle to the airport was the clincher. I would recommend this hotel if all you want is a clean bed for the night.

Situated near the beach in Mahabalipuram, Hotel Mamalla Inn is close to Ganesha Ratha, Mamallapuram Beach, and Krishna's Butterball. Also nearby are Arjuna's Penance and New Lighthouse.

"I liked the hotel"
I enjoyed my stay there. Am a single female traveling on my own and felt very safe. The hotel is in a little side street which makes it nicer not being on the main road. There is a very nice large swimming pool on the roof. I did not use it but fellow guests did and said it was nice.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Highly recommend"
The quality of this hotel and the helpfulness and friendliness of the staff was outstanding. Very central to restaurants and only a few blocks from the beach. Great value for a good price. I booked the room with www.hotels.com a week prior.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great room poor service"
Room was very good, comfortable big bed, clean and hot water. Balcony ok.breakfast a real battle to get what you needed quickly, not offered Indian breakfast, breakfast room in basement with dead flowers on table..... "Excellent value hotel"
Highly recommended! The Mamalla Inn is only 9 months old and the rooms are large, clean and comfortable -even a fridge is provided, and free drinking water. Although it is 5 minutes walk to the main restaurant road that is no inconvenience and it means that the hotel is down a quiet back street - no honking horns.The included breakfast is OK - eggs […] available as well as all the usual Indian items. The staff couldn't do more to help us and were very friendly with their limited English. The swimming pool on the roof is very nice - but it would have been even better with a couple of sunchairs. One strange thing about the pool - there are NO STEPS to exit the pool by - it is around 1.5 metres deep and you must make sure you can pull yourself out before jumping in. Die Lage des Hotels ist sehr sehr laut - fast an der Hauptverkehrsstrasse kann man kaum schlafen wegen ständiger Huperei. Direkt gegenüber befindet sich ein ritueller Waschplatz, wo sich bis 1:00 nachts und ab 5:00 morgens hunderte von Leuten waschen und dabei lautstark schwätzen. Der Pool auf dem Dach ist unsauber, es gibt keine Sonnenschirme, keine […] Liegen, keine Stühle, keine Handtücher. Der Frühstücksraum befindet sich im Keller. Auch hier alles lieblos - Plastiktische ohne Tischdecken, wackelige Plastikstühle, kein Büffet. Man kommt sich vor wie im Knast! Der Blick auf den Innenhof gleicht dem Blick auf eine Müllkippe. Ich habe dieses Hotel nach 1 Nacht verlassen und für das gleiche Geld ein tolles Hotel direkt am Strand mit Garten und tollem Ambiente gefunden. Mein Geld bekam ich allerdings nur teilweise zurück.
