"Great place with awesome service!"
Everything was awesome, but when I talked to the representative I told them I wanted rustic with a fireplace and we just got a standard room so we were a little disappointed. It was our fortieth anniversary and we were looking forward to the fireplace. Other the everything was wonderful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A must to experiance atleast once."
We went for our 1 year anniversary. This place exceeded our expectations. I have traveled a lot and stayed at some 5 star hotels. This place by far was the nicest place I have ever stayed at. From the friendly staff to the grounds there isn't anyway of improving this place. Definitely one to put on your bucket list.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Loved the woody area surrounding the hotel"
The grounds around the hotel was absolutely stunning especially in the fall. I really enjoyed my stay and will probably return to this "retreat in the woods." However, it would be nice if the resturant prices were a little more reasonable. Even $15.00 (plan on $35.00 at least for two) for a breakfast entree for bacon and eggs is exuberant especially […] when you can go up the road to a B&B and get the same breakfast complimentary. "birthday retreat a delight"
Beautiful hillside wooded landscaping with marked trails for hiking. Decor tastefully simple yet elegant. Privacy respected. Restaurant with interesting and tasty menu items without the need for salt and pepper shakers on the table. Good choice of beverages in the lounge area. Will recommend to others and return ourselves.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Did not feel very welcome at front desk for money we paid thought this was very expensive and did not offer alotGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We had a wonderful girl's retreat. Everything was perfect, the rooms, the surroundings, the staff, the fireplace in the downstairs "family" room, the Tarragon restaurant. We will be back!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Best girlfriends' retreat"
Six of us lady friends traveled to The Inn on Thurs. and stayed one night. The rooms were very comfortable, the downstairs was perfect where we played cards and pool, drank Ohio wine and ate snacks as we sat by the wood fireplace. It was so relaxing. Staff was excellent. Breakfast at the Tarragon restaurant was delicious. We will be back next October […] for two nights but I am bringing my husband in December for a romantic get-away! Beautiful -we'll be back! Staff was very friendly and helpful, especially the breakfast wait staff.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Everything was Great except for the shower. We couldn't get the water to "cool down". My boyfriend got nearly scalded while showering. When I mentioned the situation at check out, they merely said they would have maintenance "check it out". Don't get me wrong, we have stayed here before and will be back! We absolutely adore this country inn! Absolutely […] beautiful location and very accomodating staff! I'm sure it was just an isolated incident and we really should have said something when the incident occurred instead of waiting for check out. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nestled in a natural setting"
We enjoyed our stay in a comfortable room. Staff were friendly and efficient. Hiking trails on the property were very nice. Food and wine were excellent but pricey.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Loved the Inn at Honey Run, everything about it was just what we needed. Quiet, serene, beautiful setting. We needed to get away from work & the phones, so this was perfect. The trails around the property were short & enjoyable, just right for a morning hike in nature.Genuine Expedia guest review

"not as environmental as advertised"
too expensive. awesome location but way way too expensive. the staff except for one seemed condescending. I really expected more enviromental awareness from them. ex. incandescent lights, no composting, soap and shampoo not environmentally friendly.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel if you are seeking rest and quite"
Hotel is in a very secluded area. Rooms are lovely. We stayed in the lodge and intend to return, but would seek a honeycomb room that offers fireplaces and patios. There is no workout room or pool, but there are several trails in which to hike. We were disappointed that the fireplaces were not working and there was no one to resolve the issue. Many […] of the staff were new and could not answer many of our questions, which was frustrating. It is a great place to stay for rest and relaxation but is limited in its amenities. Enjoyed the Inn located right in the woods with walking trails. It was raining the one evening we stayed, and would have liked the fireplaces to be operrating. The signature king bed room at the Inn was very comfortable although we were at the lower level with no view. Amenities were appreciated, like the hot cider, etc. and the staff were very friendly […] and helpful. It was impressive and very clean. We ate at the Tarragon and it was superb but expensive. The included breakfast was very good. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

The rooms were rustic but romantic. We stayed in a honeycomb room; very romantic. The food was exceptional, a bit pricey but worth it. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. There were plenty of places on the grounds to hike. But if you're not into hiking, Amish country is within a short drive.

We stayed in the Inn in a bottom level room that gave us a "beautiful view" of a mud wall!! Our room was just mediocre at best. The room was way overpriced at $225.00 per night!! We did not even have a bathtub, just a shower stall. Travelled to many countries and this has to be one of the worst places we have ever stayed. We ordered drinks and the total for 2 was $26.15. Just extremely disappointed and would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
"Lovely spot for a romantic getaway!"
12/02/14 Trufflespds Columbus, OH
We stayed at this inn for two nights recently and had a wonderful visit. The reception staff, especially Bob, was friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Our room was very comfortable and although the bathroom could have used some updating, everything was clean and functional. The in-room Keurig and biscotti were a welcome addition. We enjoyed the breakfast which was included in the cost of the room, but to call it "continental" is misleading. It's a full breakfast, by my standards. Fresh fruit, oatmeal or yogurt w/granola, coffee/tea, juice, and pastries. The house-made pastries alone got our days started off right. We had dinner at the on-site Taragon as well, and the filet was among the best we've ever enjoyed. Tender, juicy, and cooked perfectly. All of these amenities aside, the setting of this inn is what we loved most. It is so beautiful, and the Inn was designed to allow their guests to enjoy the natural beauty at every turn. We had a corner room and I would strongly recommend that choice to those who would enjoy watching birds and squirrels at the many feeders around the Inn. There are several scenic areas nearby and lots to explore. We look forward to returning to this cozy spot soon.
"Wonderful Getaway in Amish Country"
11/18/14 kreyno Oberlin, OH
We have stayed at The Inn at Honey Run a number of times, renting a cabin, staying in the Inn itself, and nestled in one of the delightful honeycomb rooms with fireplace. Lovely Amish-inspired décor, relaxing rooms, great hiking/walking trails, and an above-average restaurant. Close to popular Amish shopping towns ... always a restful and welcoming respite.
"Good getaway for nature-loving adults"
11/08/14 Lindalee B Columbus, Ohio
We stayed in Catacombs room 414 for two days. The room was quiet, clean and attractive with a gas fireplace and TV/DVD. The bed was super-comfy. It had a whirlpool tub. The room had biscotti and a Keurig coffee maker with coffee and tea. There was no decaf in the room. We had a patio with a view and bird feeder surrounded with a curving stone wall. Parking for the Catacombs was up a short hill. There was a drop-off place for those not able to walk up and down the hill between the parking lot and the Catacombs. Tarragon, their restaurant, is very nice and the food was excellent for both breakfast and dinner. The property has many short and medium walking trails - a little hilly but not rugged. All staff members were cordial and professional. We used a Living Social deal that made the visit much more affordable. The Inn is for those 21 and over so it is not a family destination.
"Very Good Overall"

Stayed one night as a little getaway. Very happy with the Inn and the location in the middle of a wooded area in Amish country. The staff was very friendly and mostly helpful. We liked the fact that it is an adult facility, I believe that children are only permitted when the Inn is reserved for a special occasion sure as weddings etc...
"Quiet weekend retreat"
11/03/14 TLCL35 Cardington, OH
My husband and I spent a very nice and quiet weekend there. We both just wanted to get away and enjoy the outdoors and nature. It is a secluded inn in Amish country. The facility was spotless. Our room was clean and very comfortable. We enjoyed the trails and walking paths. Going in to all the stores and markets gave us something to do, when we wanted to go away from the in. I would recommend it .
"$360 for a night in a honeycomb, really?!?!"
11/03/14 Cooltuck Dublin
We went for our anniversary after years of really wanting to go here. Very disappointed. The staff was oddly standoffish. We came about 1:30p, just to see where the place was and if our room was ready. We weren't concerned about it because we wanted to go into Berlin and shop and eat lunch anyway, but we were just more excited to see our room. The girl at the front desk, was just standoffish and said that our room wasn't ready but that they would text us when it was. We were busy shopping and eating and returned to the inn when we were done, we never received a text saying it was ready. We headed to our honeycomb suite. I will agree with the other reviewers, I was unpleasantly surprised, there was an "apartment building smell" as soon as you enter into the honeycombs and in the hallways. The smell wasn't so much in the rooms, but definitely in any common areas. The room was ok. The fireplace was nice and the bed was comfortable and the patio area was nice, even though it was too cold for us to utilize it. We headed down to the happy hour for the "Club level" honeycomb customers. The experience was so weird and awkward, I was embarrassed for the Inn. I was expecting light appetizers served buffet style. Instead we were sat in a couch area and served a bowl of potato chips, a glass of four pretzel rods and four crispy but bland chicken wings. We were also offered a glass of house red or white wine. The wine was actually somewhat redeemable. Another reviewer commented on the strange environment and menu at Tarragon and I have to agree. They could have served us a small appetizer from the menu to entice us to eat there, however, we didn't eat the food given, except for sampling the wings. The menu was surprisingly pedestrian and the prices were high. We were separated from diners by a partition and watching their did not drive us to try the restaurant nor did our samplings, so we took the cheese and bread and fruit and wine that we purchased in Berlin and had that as our dinner. We went back to the room and tried out the Jacuzzi tub, but after numerous attempts were never able to get the jets to actually turn on. The water did have a faint dirty tint to it which we found odd. The bed was very comfortable and the fireplace was very nice. The next morning we hiked around the property and headed to the dining room for breakfast. The breakfast was actually pretty good for a continental breakfast. We were offered a choice of oatmeal or yogurt, fresh fruit, pastry, juice and coffee or tea. We have stayed at the Inn at Glenlaurel and Inn at Cedar Falls (both in Hocking Hills) and similarly priced and their breakfast were both full breakfast, ordered off the table and more farm to table, which I would have expected here. Also, their is jazz music playing 24-7 in the dining room, loud and distracting and it just doesn't seem to fit the ambience at all. We know well about this jazz music because we waited a laughable hour and 15 minutes to an hour and 30 mins for our continental breakfast. We were offered no explanation, except at the 30-45 min mark when she came out to tell us they were just "crisping" up the side of bacon my husband had ordered. We weren't really in a hurry so we sat and talked and watched the birds and laughed to ourselves that it took them this long to make oatmeal and yogurt?!!? Once we finished, we stopped at the front desk and asked if they minded if we checked out at 12 (in our own minds we had a few more things we wanted to do and we never expected to be at breakfast that long). We were basically told no, there was a little negotiating back and forth (again the front desk staff was oddly standoffish) and she said we needed to be out of the room as close to noon as possible. I would think since we were the suckers that paid $360 for this room they would bend over backwards to accommodate our request, but no they really seemed like they were doing us a favor?!!? So overall, I would not return. I know there has been a lot of turn over in management/ownership and the place really needs to find itself. Nothing seems to be cohesive and it is certainly becoming outdated. It does seems to be more set out to appeal to the 60+ crowd. For the money, we have stayed at MUCH nicer places, with much better staff, that are much more intent of giving you a pampered weekend away. This wasn't it, lesson learned.
"Honeycombs a unique, peaceful escape"
11/02/14 MM H Cleveland, Ohio
This review is specifically about the Honeycombs - not the Inn, which I haven't stayed in. My parents started going to the Honeycombs in the early '80s, and my first visit was in the early '00s. At the time the honeycombs were showing age and in need of updating, but no less cozy and comfortable. The rooms are built into a hill above the Inn, and have circular openings featuring private stone patios. From a distance they indeed resemble holes in a honeycomb. A new owner took over several years ago and has never stopped making improvements to both the Inn and Honeycombs. At our most recent stay, rooms now include jacuzzi tub, fireplace, sitting area, king size beds, and Adirondack chairs on the patio for daytime views of the valley and nighttime stargazing. And quiet. Lots and lots of quiet. Children and pets aren't allowed. An elegant Continental breakfast at the Inn is included. For a real getaway, bring books and snacks, hike the trails, and hunker down. Don't go into town unless you're into overpriced "antiques" and commercialized Amish attractions (I'll save that for another review). Only negative, and this has remained consistent the last several years - front desk staff isn't very friendly or helpful, if you can get them to notice you at all. Owner Jason has responded to this complaint in the past with "Well they are very busy," which is no excuse. Otherwise, a great experience and wonderful escape.
"Great Location but...."
10/17/14 H-champs_traveller Cheshire
Situated in woodland in the heart of Amish Country and a great location but needs money spending on it. We pre-paid for our room at a cost of $163 per night as opposed to $250 pn. At the price we paid it was good value for money, it would not have been at the full price. Our room was a large corner room with windows looking out over the woods with window seating where you could sit and watch the extensive wild life, very relaxing. Dinner was excellent though the chef was unable to produce ANY desert for a diabetic which I found unacceptable for a hotel of this type. We were not able to shower during our 1 night stay due to the colour of the water comming out of the taps both in the wash hand basin and the shower, dark brown. The explanation we were given was that they had been working on the water system and that the water was perfectly safe to use. Not in my book it wasn't! We asked for an alternative room but one was not available. That is not what the car park suggested i.e few cars were in.
