"Pleasant Time in the hills of Holmes County"
We had never stayed here before although we had seen it with friends. Got there mid afternoon & cookies & coffee were available in the "living" area.Had a nice lunch in The Tarragon rm. (Service by all, good). They were very busy, but tried to help us as much as possible. Next time will probably stay on the 2nd or 3rd floor. Very quiet @ night. Other places we have visited, you can hear the pots & pans rattling for breakfast. Also fed the lambs. They looked HOT! We enjoyed very much. Will go back again!

Very happy with the stay. The Inn is beautiful and peaceful. Fun to look out the windows into the woods and watch the birds and squirrels.Had a campfire and fed the sheep. The continental breakfast was very filling. Dinner at the restaurant was very good. Would highly recommend it for a romantic or relaxing weekend away!

Stayed one night, wish it could have been longer! Delightful room in the "honeycomb" section; roomy, private, quiet, great view from private porch. Dinner in the restaurant was exquisite, a true culinary experience! Will definitely be returning here.

"Inn at Honey Run /The Country Experience"
Great place to relax. Small blessing or curse, Cell phones did not function inside the Club Level Rooms. Had to go out on the patio for service. Driving to and from the hotel was an interesting event. From the Amish horse drawn buggies, to the two lane, winding country roads. Lots of small towns near by , tons of charm, great folks. We even found a great church a short drive away , St. Peters, where we attended Sunday services. Although we made reservations at the hotel restaurant our plans changed, and that did not happen. Having said that we did have room service. It was great ,and the food was good. A short distance away at Wooster , a College town, we had a great dining experience at a place called City Square, where we held a post Grad celebration for our Grandaughter. "Great Staff", decent food.

"Quiet Serenity"
We went to the Inn at Honey Run for a weekend Anniversary get a way. The in itself is set away from anything so it is very quiet and peaceful. The only noise is the sound of the baby lambs in the grazing areas. We stayed in the Honeycombs. I would rate the rooms very nice but for the money difference between the Select rooms in the Inn itself, I am not sure there is much difference for the price. The Continental Breakfast does come with the Homeycomb rooms. If we would stay at this resort again, I do not know that I would stay in them again. If I would stay here again, I would either choose a select room or upgrade to a cottage. I had the Continential Breakfast however my husband opted to pay for his breakfast and had eggs, bacon and hashbrowns with orange juice for $16.00. If you want a quiet place to stay and love exploring the outdoors you will love this place. (our room was shot by a skunk at 12:40 am and boy did it stink!!!)

"More than expected"
The first notable thought was the setting of the hotel. The configuration of the building blends itself in the natural surroundings. My eyes could not be helped from focusing on the bird feeding treatment with their 4 massive boxes on second story post with other posts scattered around the building. We had arrived early and selected to try lunch at Tarragon were we had baked potato soup that rivaled some of my home soup. While dining we were also treated by birds and squirrels also having their lunch. The staff being attentive as they are by way of the waitress informed us that when we finish our room will be ready. Greeting us as we entered our room was a display of wine, water, biscotti cookies and coffee to be made. A smaller room (of our selection) more than easily accommodated the queen bed. The room was pleasant and well thought out even including the Peterson's Guide to wild bird identification. In the evening we requested room service of sandwich and drinks. Unaccustomed as I am to pay a predetermined gratuity and $5.00 delivery charge, for room service, the quality of the Ruben was the best I have eaten outside the home. The next morning a continental breakfast, the cost that is included in your room reservation, was as tasty and satisfying as any early morning feast. The two nights that we had expected to stay was cut short by a home mishap and after eating we sadly signed out. I know the much looked forward to evening meal would have been great

We went for our 1 year anniversary. This place exceeded our expectations. I have traveled a lot and stayed at some 5 star hotels. This place by far was the nicest place I have ever stayed at. From the friendly staff to the grounds there isn't anyway of improving this place. Definitely one to put on your bucket list.

"Loved the woody area surrounding the hotel"
The grounds around the hotel was absolutely stunning especially in the fall. I really enjoyed my stay and will probably return to this "retreat in the woods." However, it would be nice if the resturant prices were a little more reasonable. Even $15.00 (plan on $35.00 at least for two) for a breakfast entree for bacon and eggs is exuberant especially when you can go up the road to a B&B and get the same breakfast complimentary.

Six of us lady friends traveled to The Inn on Thurs. and stayed one night. The rooms were very comfortable, the downstairs was perfect where we played cards and pool, drank Ohio wine and ate snacks as we sat by the wood fireplace. It was so relaxing. Staff was excellent. Breakfast at the Tarragon restaurant was delicious. We will be back next October for two nights but I am bringing my husband in December for a romantic get-away!

"Great except..."
Everything was Great except for the shower. We couldn't get the water to "cool down". My boyfriend got nearly scalded while showering. When I mentioned the situation at check out, they merely said they would have maintenance "check it out". Don't get me wrong, we have stayed here before and will be back! We absolutely adore this country inn! Absolutely beautiful location and very accomodating staff! I'm sure it was just an isolated incident and we really should have said something when the incident occurred instead of waiting for check out.

"Great hotel if you are seeking rest and quite"
Hotel is in a very secluded area. Rooms are lovely. We stayed in the lodge and intend to return, but would seek a honeycomb room that offers fireplaces and patios. There is no workout room or pool, but there are several trails in which to hike. We were disappointed that the fireplaces were not working and there was no one to resolve the issue. Many of the staff were new and could not answer many of our questions, which was frustrating. It is a great place to stay for rest and relaxation but is limited in its amenities.

"Relaxing get-away"
Enjoyed the Inn located right in the woods with walking trails. It was raining the one evening we stayed, and would have liked the fireplaces to be operrating. The signature king bed room at the Inn was very comfortable although we were at the lower level with no view. Amenities were appreciated, like the hot cider, etc. and the staff were very friendly and helpful. It was impressive and very clean. We ate at the Tarragon and it was superb but expensive. The included breakfast was very good.

"RELAXING, EDUCATIONAL....AND FUN"
08/26/15 HansLudwig2014 Dayton, Ohio
Our first time in Ohio Amish Country. What a great time visiting the unique pristine communities. Stayed at the Inn @ Honey Run. Terrific real-estate/super site/trails and very nice accommodations. Good Stuff: very relaxing for downshifting from more active life style, personnel are excellent for info and making sure you are happy, rooms are more than quite nice. The area/sites/visits to Amish community was nothing shot of super. Being with/sharing experience with our dear friends George & Marsha made it even more enjoyable. Got great rates via Coupon for hotel. Accommodations were very pleasant. But note that there are no drawers/cabinets for your clothes, there is no little refrigerator....so bring a hefty cooler for iced water or other beverages. The hotel restaurant menu (as you will find out via web site or being there) is mucho expensive; just be prepared or make alternative dinner plans. Was expecting a cornucopia of birds at this place. Our timing must have been off; depute our expectations and our book and the one provided by the hotel.... we had a nil experience of a avifauna experience. Very nice facility with pool table, game room, outside decks (upper & lower).... decent cocktails at the bar, ... The "hiking trails" are actually quite challenging in terms of not just distance...but incline. We would definitely go back... just almost disturbing is to see all those "old folks" there.... and then realize ..... we are one of them. Have a relaxing, fun and wonderful time there as a base to explore the Amish community. Staff is very professional and accommodating at the this facility.

"Retreat at the Inn at Honey Run"
08/26/15 Joy K
Everybody at the Inn was so sincerely warm, genuinely helpful. It was an excellent experience for all that participated. Many of the cohort expressed feeling like "superstars". It was an experience that went beyond what money buys. To be treated so well, at such a beautiful place was a memorable experience for so many in our group. The retreat was put together on short notice- we planned in two months what generally takes 6 months to a year to plan. Through it all, the customer service was superior, the Sales Executive Rachael was extremely attentive and handled an ever-changing order with grace and care. The staff offered a level of customer service that I have rarely ever seen. Everybody in our group raved about the place from the beginning of the retreat to the end, and they want to come again on personal trips. The space is beautiful, serene and relaxing. The rooms are amazing. And the food is delicious. The only potential downside I see is not allowing people under the age of 21. However, I can see how some people would benefit from that. It was a pleasure, and our organization looks forward to working with the Inn At Honey Run again in the future.

"Great weekend getaway!"
08/24/15 Bon2 Cincinnati, Ohio
We stayed in the lower level Honeycombs. The room was clean, bright, & fresh. Very comfortable bed with nice linens. We enjoyed sitting out on our porch and watching the birds. Every feeder was empty on the first day of our stay. I called the front desk and they were filled by the next evening. The entire property is beautiful and serene. No children allowed. We enjoyed visiting the sheep. :) Dinner and breakfast at their on-site restaurant was good. Overall a very nice and relaxing stay.

"Disappointed. Been here before and it was great!"
08/19/15 Janine G Bethel, Ohio
I sent this e-mail after our vacation at the Inn. I was not going to review it until I heard back from them. But it's been over two weeks with no response. Here's what I wrote: I am back from vacation and now sitting at my desk at work. Just opened my e-mails to find one from the Inn (after I left for vacation) about a change in rooms. We planned this vacation some time ago with my parents. We planned on having wine and cheese out on the big balcony with them and just catch up and relax. We travelled 5 hours to get there to find out just then that our room was under construction. We really would have appreciated a phone call and an apology or something ahead of time. Not an e-mail that was not received beforehand. Instead we had four people in one room in front of a single sliding glass door trying to hear the sounds of nature. We were assured at the front desk that the room that didn’t even have a balcony was indeed less than the quoted rate. The morning we checked out both rooms received their respective receipts of what was still due upon checkout. They were the same amount. I explained to the young man downstairs what happened and he took $20 off of my dad’s room. Wow. All in all, disappointed. My husband and I have stayed here before and raved about how awesome this place was to my parents. I was a little embarrassed. We raved about the bird feeders only to see them empty the whole time we were there! Why didn’t the birdfeeders have food? I am a huge fan of reviews. I base a lot of where we stay and eat on them. I always write reviews of where I have been because I’m sure other people like me like to see what people are saying about a place they haven’t been yet. I will not be reviewing the Inn until I have received a response to my e-mail and given the Inn a chance to redeem themselves. I don’t think that would be fair.

"Lovely Location"
08/04/15 Expat1957 Columbus, Ohio
Spent 2 nights . Very tranquil and peaceful. We stayed in the honeycomb suites that are built into the hillside quite amazing. We originally booked a regular room but upgraded to the suites as we were not impressed with the room as it seemed a little dated. One problem with the suites though is poor storage for clothes, no chest of drawers just the wire shelving in the closet. We really never tried the Tarragon Restaurant on site only for continental breakfast and once for the charred romaine which was very good. All in all 2 very comfortable nights at the Honey Run Inn.

"Comfortable rooms in secluded location"
08/03/15 Cocosel Cleveland, OH
We booked a night in a Honeycomb room at the Inn and enjoyed our stay, but some of the little things that can make a place truly special were lacking. Our room was comfortable, especially the bed, and the area is naturally beautiful and serene. It is nice to have private chairs right outside each Honeycomb suite, and we enjoyed the ambiance of the fireplace even on a summer evening. They also have an extensive DVD library that we could check out movies from. Since the place is not close to other restaurants, we were not going to leave for every meal, so the restaurant mattered. Like the room, it is also a cut above average and just about everything we had was delicious. The portion sizes were about right. It surprised us that the server would would not accommodate a request to split a main entree without a $9 charge, even though we were not trying to skimp on the dinner bill, ordering an appetizer, a main dish, dessert and a bottle of wine. The biggest disappointment was having to wait almost an hour past the normal 3PM check in to get our room. We booked it almost a year in advance. Among the listed amenities is night binoculars that would have been nice to have to check out the wild life. They were out, unfortunately. All in all, we do not regret staying. It is a beautiful property, but given the little details and the lack of an effort to make up for it, we would not feel comfortable recommending it to friends.

"Beautiful serene place to visit Ohio's Amish Country"
07/09/15 Joe F Louisville, Kentucky
We had the opportunity through an on-line discount offer to stay at the Inn at Honey Run for a couple of days in June. The rooms were large and had beutiful views of the local landscape. The two day package came with champagne and a nice cheese and fruit tray in the room as well as complementary continental breakfast. Looking over the guest book it appears that many people come here for a romantic anniversary escape. The food is well prepared but if you want more than a continental breakfast they will not apply it toward any other breakfast selection...but you can have both. We visited a number of the local towns and look forward to returning again.
