"cold times in INDIA a hot climate- January 2014"
we arrived to a cold and foggy time in INDAI...SInce INDIA is a sub tropical climate and they have limited funds they usually don't spend money to install heat into homes and hotels etc, that would barely be used 6 weeks per year...Understood...but coming from USA where we are used to having heat,,,well it was difficult, eventually we bought our own […] room heaters...the hotel was great, the food ok, staff was helpful, we only stayed one night in time to see TAJ and other sites in the cold fog...ever look at a white building when it if foggy outside...guess what? you can't see it! laughing. "Great HONEST place for backbackers"
This is place is a great budget hotel. The staff are extremely helpful, honest and kind. The price is right, the garden is very impressive and the location is a close autorickshaw ride to either Agra train station. It is hard to find an easygoing, quiet place in India. This is one.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice and basic hotel"
The lights were not working but we used a lamp, we arrived late and they sold me a piece of bread, very very basic, rooms were very confortable anyhow, not fancy at all, no air con, just a bed and a small rough and clean toilet.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Make a different choice if you can"
Initially upon check in we were given a regular room with no air con and an entry door which would not lock from the inside. When we inquired about the door lock we were told that all the rooms were the same, with a door which would not lock from the inside. So, I checked my booking reservation and found I reserved a room with air con, I presented this […] information to the agent, a conference ensued with 5 employees, and we were moved to a room on the second floor which had air con and a door which locked properly. Check in was not helpful with directions, did no have a map of the city, floor of the room was dirty, there was plenty of hot water, and the wifi was inconsistent, typical for India I guess. I am sure you could do worse but I am also sure you could do better. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice enough for India"
The rooms were clean for the price. The biggest complaint was that the food service took hours for a meal. The in house tuktuk driver charges more than for comparable trips in Mumbai.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice courtyard; rooms felt like dark ugly caves"
We happened to arrive on the coldest night of the year, just over freezing. There were no heaters and we went to bed fully clothed. The rooms felt like caves, a single exposed light bulb and filthy walls casting a pall that was not mitigated by the sparse bathroom facilities. Don't expect towels or toilet paper, frequently a scarce commodity in India. […] The best feature of the hotel is the courtyard which is charming and conducive to mingling. You really get what you pay for with this one. We only stayed one night, even though we were booked for two. Spend a few more dollars and upgrade. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Old building. Low hot water pressure. Not very clean. Really bad restaurant. This place could be so much better if they tried a little harder...Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Simple hostel with friendly vibe"
Stayed in an upstairs room which was simple enough. Nice bed, though hot water took a while but that didnt bother us. Only the very loud road at night. Lovely courtyard area with nice lights at night. Though it was raining so we didnt get to sit out in it. Great food at breakfast and dinner. Simple, cheap but tasty! Staff also very nice and place was […] washed down daily Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
The rooms are reminiscent of an erst while colonial past. Food is tasty and on time. Extremely helpful people... It was absolute value for money simple room good hot running water friendly staff located close to all tourist spots.Reasonably priced very simple and basic no frills or luxury overall good experience.Warning do not visit an eatery close to the hotel they are out to fleece customers with the principle that very rarely one would revisit AgraGenuine Hotels.com guest review

It doesn't look much for the world from the outside, but inside a cozy inner yard and restaurant is the centre of what feels like an old garrison house. The restaurant is good and the staff is friendly and helpful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Genuine Hotels.com guest review

This hotel is nice but not one that I would rave about. We opted for the basic room to save a bit of money, which was fine - we have had better rooms for the same price but it was adequate. When we arrived there were no blankets and no towels provided as there were in other rooms. And when we asked they did not really seem that bothered. The restaurant area was lovely, like a little oasis in the middle of the city and the chocolate milkshakes were delicious. However the service was slow, food would be unceremoniously plonked in front of you and although the food was tasty it was overpriced. The area that the hotel is in has some excellent street food. Nowhere in Agra is really walking distance, so the proximity to a road with lots of rickshaws and autos was handy. The tuk tuk drivers out front are all helpful, although not above taking you to shops where they get commission on purchases. We hired a driver for the day (Nasheed) who was great and took us to see all of the Agra sights. The staff were friendly but once we said that we would not be able to pay a service tip (we are travelling on a budget - hence staying in the cheapest room) they became decidedly less friendly. I don't regret staying here but I'm not sure that I would stay again. If you are in a more expensive room or tip in the restaurant then maybe they will value your custom more than they did ours.
"Best place for back packers"
One of the best budget hotels in Agra for back packers. If you are in Agra to explore the city and its monument and not to stay in the hotel for leisure this is value for money. Good service, moderate tariff, nice food/eating options (but only veg) and close to railway station. I will prefer to stay here again if travel to Agra in future. My overall rating of "Very Good" is coz of the optimum combination price, location and ambiance

we booked for 2 nights at this hotel.total we are 15 in number. we got upstairs rooms with nice garden view restaurant. The hotel is nice clean with nice spacious rooms. The hotel is near to taj mahal, fort and main bazaar, we walked. We took rickshaws and thought it was expensive, but it was not the part of the hotel. In the evening the garden is nicely decorated with lights around with nice music. The food was good and free wifi helps a lot for booking rooms ahead. Overall a nice place to stay and will recommend to my other group travelers.
"Decent hotel for Backpackers"
11/29/14 dhankar66 New Delhi, India
We were group of 14 people, we arrived at this hotel very late at night but the hotel staff was very polite and quick to do checkin and allot us rooms. Rooms are very basic but neat and clean, cleaner than other budget hotels I have seen. The best part about the hotel is the garden where one can sit and eat, the food was delicious but the but the staff took too much time to bring the order. I will recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a cheap and clean stay.
"Overrated, shouldn't be on lonely planet"
11/28/14 Iacovos A London, United Kingdom
We booked a room here after reading a good review on lonely planet, however our experience was very different. The staff were unhelpful and always looking at their phones while talking to you. We sometimes sat in the restaurant for half an hour before anybody approached us, and there were empty bottles of water lying around the place. The location wasn't so great either, since you couldn't walk anywhere. The only time the staff smiled at us and asked if our stay was ok was while paying at check-out. The room was ok, but there were holes in the bedsheets and the towels provided were extremely dirty so we used our own. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
"A good value Agra hotel away from the centre."
The room was clean and decent-sized. There is a nice courtyard garden for sitting and eating. Wi-fi reception is only possible outside the room. Food was fine and service was quick and firendly. The hotel is some way from the Taj and the city centre and it is not an easy walk through dust, pollution and traffic. Renovations were going on to the outside of the hotel so we did not see it at its best. There is a cheap, good quality South Indian restaurant just down the road for those who like dosas, idlis etc.
"Pretty decent Hotel for the Price offered"
11/18/14 PrabhusQuest Noida, India
The GuestHouse covers all the basic requirements for a traveller. It is located in a convenient place for commuting to all the important attractions in Agra like Tajmahal, Agra Fort etc.. The rooms are neat and clean. Pretty decent size too. The restaurant is an open area with lots of trees and greenery which is quite refreshing. The food is also pretty decent. If you are a backpacker who needs a nice calm place to stay for a night or two then this would be the ideal place. The only downside I see here is that the Guest house doesnt give you a great impression at first look from the outside. But it is not that bad after all once you get inside.
"Have It Their Way"
11/13/14 mclassic New York City, New York
This guesthouse has the basics covered with clean rooms. Travelers shouldn't expect anything beyond that as service is quite poor at this hotel. I arrived late to this hotel, because of a delayed train. Upon arrival, one of the staff told me I was "lucky to still have a booking" there. That statement prompted me to reprimand him. I reminded him that I had a confirmed booking, and that the hotel was not so special that I should consider myself lucky. The room is clean. The bed is comfortable. The bathroom is very much in need of an update. There was a very old and rusted water heater in the bathroom with some electrical wires hanging out of it. There were also bugs around the bathroom sink piping. The water quality is highly suspicious. I had a very difficult time getting soap to lather while taking showers. The hotel has a restaurant, which is very convenient. I, however, ran into a few occurrences where they did not have a menu selection. During these instances, the staff told me what I could have. I found this unacceptable. It finally reached a point where I chose to eat elsewhere, rather than allow the hotel to serve me what they wanted. WiFi does not work in all the rooms, but works in the garden area. Connectivity is intermittent, and at times slow. The location is a 30 minute walk to Agra Fort and 50 minutes to Taj Mahal. I walked to both attractions. Keep in mind the risks of walking. Traffic in the area is quite chaotic. I don't know that there are many better accommodation options in the area, especially considering the price. For travelers who choose to stay here, set your expectations accordingly.
"Ideal backpackers hostel"
11/11/14 EviVdd91 Belgium
This hostel is ideal for backpackers. The rooms are nice, there is a small garden where you can sit and eat something, good prices,... During our stay there where some electrical problems so our airconditioning did not work all the time.
"Very poor hospitality"
Tariff are high but poor service, no hot water, no almirah n hooks 2 hang towel in bathroom n worst part they don't give glass for water in rooms....visitor never visit this place as only foreigners visit this place as they can be cheated easily over here
