"cold times in INDIA a hot climate- January 2014"
we arrived to a cold and foggy time in INDAI...SInce INDIA is a sub tropical climate and they have limited funds they usually don't spend money to install heat into homes and hotels etc, that would barely be used 6 weeks per year...Understood...but coming from USA where we are used to having heat,,,well it was difficult, eventually we bought our own […] room heaters...the hotel was great, the food ok, staff was helpful, we only stayed one night in time to see TAJ and other sites in the cold fog...ever look at a white building when it if foggy outside...guess what? you can't see it! laughing. "Great HONEST place for backbackers"
This is place is a great budget hotel. The staff are extremely helpful, honest and kind. The price is right, the garden is very impressive and the location is a close autorickshaw ride to either Agra train station. It is hard to find an easygoing, quiet place in India. This is one.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice and basic hotel"
The lights were not working but we used a lamp, we arrived late and they sold me a piece of bread, very very basic, rooms were very confortable anyhow, not fancy at all, no air con, just a bed and a small rough and clean toilet.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Make a different choice if you can"
Initially upon check in we were given a regular room with no air con and an entry door which would not lock from the inside. When we inquired about the door lock we were told that all the rooms were the same, with a door which would not lock from the inside. So, I checked my booking reservation and found I reserved a room with air con, I presented this […] information to the agent, a conference ensued with 5 employees, and we were moved to a room on the second floor which had air con and a door which locked properly. Check in was not helpful with directions, did no have a map of the city, floor of the room was dirty, there was plenty of hot water, and the wifi was inconsistent, typical for India I guess. I am sure you could do worse but I am also sure you could do better. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice enough for India"
The rooms were clean for the price. The biggest complaint was that the food service took hours for a meal. The in house tuktuk driver charges more than for comparable trips in Mumbai.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice courtyard; rooms felt like dark ugly caves"
We happened to arrive on the coldest night of the year, just over freezing. There were no heaters and we went to bed fully clothed. The rooms felt like caves, a single exposed light bulb and filthy walls casting a pall that was not mitigated by the sparse bathroom facilities. Don't expect towels or toilet paper, frequently a scarce commodity in India. […] The best feature of the hotel is the courtyard which is charming and conducive to mingling. You really get what you pay for with this one. We only stayed one night, even though we were booked for two. Spend a few more dollars and upgrade. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Simple hostel with friendly vibe"
Stayed in an upstairs room which was simple enough. Nice bed, though hot water took a while but that didnt bother us. Only the very loud road at night. Lovely courtyard area with nice lights at night. Though it was raining so we didnt get to sit out in it. Great food at breakfast and dinner. Simple, cheap but tasty! Staff also very nice and place was […] washed down daily Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
The rooms are reminiscent of an erst while colonial past. Food is tasty and on time. Extremely helpful people... Special thanks to Mr.Brijender..Mr.Ram and most importantly to Mr.Wadhwa for actively helping our touring itenary and being sensitive towards the sprained ankle that my wife had.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Stay At Agra 22nd December-12"
It was absolute value for money simple room good hot running water friendly staff located close to all tourist spots.Reasonably priced very simple and basic no frills or luxury overall good experience.Warning do not visit an eatery close to the hotel they are out to fleece customers with the principle that very rarely one would revisit AgraGenuine Hotels.com guest review

It doesn't look much for the world from the outside, but inside a cozy inner yard and restaurant is the centre of what feels like an old garrison house. The restaurant is good and the staff is friendly and helpful.

Genuine Hotels.com guest review

I stayed here two nights on my way through Agra, its good standard made a refreshing change to some of my previous experiences on my trip. The staff were helpful and friendly, the room was spotless with a good bed and clean bedding, clean and working shower and toilet, ceiling fan, lovely central courtyard with plants and ambient lighting, and free wifi. The owner is happy and friendly and appears to live on the premises. Sadly it was not all perfect: The restaurant in the courtyard had a fairly limited menu, especially for breakfast if you wanted something local, the food wasn't anything special, just average, and there's much better available within 200 metres at the Raj Darbar restaurant (left out of the hotel, cross the road, Raj Darbar on the right at basement level. Menu in English, friendly staff). My room, 114, was at ground level and could be a little noisy from the courtyard and staff watching TV in the rooms nearby. But the biggest repeated annoyance which started to impact my stay were the two rickshaw drivers employed by the hotel, Bikram and Ali. They were relentless in their pursuit of my money, would not take no as a final answer, asked for a tip after an expensive afternoon tour of some of the city and phoned me seven times in one morning while I was at the Taj wanting me to go to other places with them despite my telling them 1. NO and 2. If I wanted them I would call them. They rapidly began to negatively impact my experience in the hotel and city so I found another local rickshaw driver who was friendly, not pushy and reasonably priced and I stuck with him, and I enjoyed his company as well. But avoid Bikram and Ali and venture outside for food and you have a great place to stay in Agra :o)
"Decent low budget place"

If you're looking for a cheap, comfortable and well-located place to stay, this will do just fine. The host of the place is extremely kind and helpful, and the AC rooms are big and comfortable. But don't touch the food, and then especially the sandwiches and pancakes, they are horrible.
"Basic but clean and well-located"

A great stay for the budget traveller with all basic facilities, clean bedding and bathroom and A/C. The food in the courtyard restaurant was decent and the staff were friendly and helpful. They organised a free pick-up from the train station and also a combined fee for visiting the fort and the taj later on. Over all, good value for money and perfect for a one-night stay.
"A Hastle free hotel in Agra"

The hotel is nice with big rooms with all modern facilities in the room. We arrive at Agra fort station where the touts don't want us to come at this hotel because we saw in our guide books that they don't pay commission.we forced and we came. We thought to eat outside, but we gave a try to their restaurant where food was good, service is nice with smiling faces There is also a travel agency run by Mr. Anil who give you the best Idea to reach different cities. We opted a car for day sight seeing which was nice and good in price. The hotel is at the center of the city, we prefer walking to TajMahal which is just 12-15 min from the hotel(auto rickshaw takes 5 min maximum). The owner if the hotel is nice and they give free WiFi to us which is really helpful.. In all a nice stay and we recommend our friends to stay here..

"Budget stay with all basic amenities"

The location of this rest house itself is a big perk.the Taj Mahal ,red fort, market everything is within 10 min distance from here.simple but sufficient in itself, this place is even liked by many foreigners.Best part of the hotel is the centre lawn where u can dine and it's fort style exteriors.staff is co-operative.if u are looking for a lavish stat, skip this one as it's a basic place with clean rooms, affordable tariff and all what u need for a comfortable stay.thumbs up guys,u gave a memorable stay to my family :)even the naughty monkeys visiting hotel daily morning were a treat.

room was very neat and clean. Management was friendly. food quality and charges was genuine. location is also very good. It's near Agra Red fort . better than expected. Overall it was a very good experience.
"Go for the AC rooms!"
From the street this guesthouse doesn't live up to the quality of the rooms inside. The rooms are set around a courtyard shrouded with trees and a few tables, which are a little inconveniently set outside rooms but seem ok to sit around during the day&early evening. The air conditioned room we had was far bigger than the fan room for an extra 300 rupees, it is definitely worth the price. The downside to our room are the slightly damp towels&the third bed was a mattress on the floor. Otherwise a nice hotel a short tuk tuk ride from the Taj Mahal.
"budget hotel...excellent for the price!"

We stayed here for a few days in january.Everything right from booking online, talking to the owner on the phone, pick up from the station in the wee hours.....was perfect. We had booked the 1200 rs room which was spacious with clean linen, large clean bathroom with hot water, complimentary room heater for the damp and freezing weather was just right. At this price you can't get anything better.Food was delicious and cheap I specially loved the alloo tamater veg and the banana custard.Anil Wadhwa and his father are perfect hosts. Please remember this is a budget family run hotel and don't have high expectations.
"Adequate hotel, decent amenities"
07/18/14 jephdo San Francisco, California
The hotel, in my opinion is adequate and for the price has actually decent amenities: AC, wifi, food service, laundry service, and a small roll of toilet paper ( a lot of the budget places in India don't supply toilet paper lol) That being said, don't expect a 5 star hotel. The AC in my room wasn't perfect and the frequent power outages in Agra impaired its effectiveness (not really the fault of the hotel, but their backup generator is weak as well). The wifi didnt reach into my room on the 2nd floor and I was told wifi only works in the corridors and courtyard. The hotel staff is hit or miss: some are very hospitable, others slightly rude. Having breakfast in the courtyard is pleasant, but the food is only "ok" Overall, this place is good for budget travelers for the wide range of amenities. But if you're willing to spend more there are nicer places in Agra.
