Location-wise could not be better (right next to the train station). The Hotel was very clean and rooms were extremely nice, small but nice - beds were very comfortable and bathroom very efficient and new. No wifi in rooms which sucked, only available in lobby - which was uncomfortable to be in, hard chairs and no tables. You can have internet access but you need a laptop with a LAN line (I brought an iPad). Breakfast was good - buffet style w/ lots of options both Japanese and American/Euro., but a bit pricey 1300yens. Dinner? eat out plenty of local places and better options. Overall I would definitely stay again - I got the feeling that Karuizawa is a very popular vacation town, I was there visiting family in the height of summer tourist season so I understand the price and convenience of this location.
