FX Hotel Royal Panerai, Chiang Mai - Chiang Mai

We stayed in May, when it is HOT in Thailand. The air conditioning worked very well! And the room stayed reasonably cool even when it was off. The keychain that holds your room key activates the lights and A/C, so if you're sensitive to heat you might consider bringing a spare keychain so that you can take off the key and leave the A/C running. The […] shower was fine; cold water is only cold in the mornings in May, but there are individual shower water heaters so there was always plenty of hot water. The front desk staff were fine. We were able to walk a couple blocks to the moated old city, though there are usually songthaews (red pickup-truck taxis) closeby. The hotel did not serve breakfast (at least in May), but food is VERY cheap and good in Chiang Mai, so we were fine. There's a 7-11 next door, which is nice to break those thousand-Baht bills the banks and ATMs like to give you. The people at the tour desk in the lobby were nice enough and not too pushy. Good location, clean room. Very nice hotel by Thai standards. Free wifi, computer in the lobby if needed. Friendly staff, they have an agent that will help you book tours if you are interested, I think most hotels do this. Helps their bottom line.

Considering the price, it wasn't that bad. It definitely needs some work and was not clean at all. The location was pretty good, just outside of the Old City. The highlight was the tour operator here... I think his name was Mr. Tee? He was extremely helpful in booking tours and cooking classes and spoke excellent English. Rooms were adequate, but not plush. The bath towels were very used and need to be replaced. Our room also did not have a hairdryer although there was hook up for one in the the room. It was an average palce - at best - to stay!!! The place was unknown to almost all the tuk-tuk and red cab people. Even the local shopkeepers didn't know where this place was. Plus, this is not close to any of the attractions. I mean, in proportion to the size of the city - the main attractions were kinda far. To add more, the bed sheets were torn and […] dirty. Also, there was NO decent place to eat or drink nearby!!! They hotel itself didn't have a cafeteria or a bar. Finally, I left my clothes for laundrey around 7 am and went out for an excursion. After I returned, they told me that my laundry could NOT be done as the machine was broken. Plus, i found some of my clothes missing - I didn't complaint on that as they were very cheap ones. Staff too were of a care-free and lazy, just didn't know want to make an effort to help and couldn't speak proper english. However, the rooms were BIG!!! And were decent enough to live a couple of things if you just want to sleep and dont mind the sheets etc. All in all, this is a cheap place to crash - but only to CRASH!!! The hotel is very well located just outside the NE corner of the city walls. It takes 10-15 min walk to the city centre and 5 min by bike. There is a small parking place outside the hotel that can be used to park a byke or motorcycle; the security guards were alway friendly and kept an eye on my byke. People at the lobby were generally helpful and corteous, but I did not have the impression that they would go that extra lenght to help. So keep the questions simple. When I stayed at the fx hotel panerai I was really pleased. When I arrived they checked me in really quickly to a large and comfortable room. They supplied me with a tourist map of chang mai and there was an events stand in the reception. I booked a 3day jungle trek from this stand for a reasonable price and whilst on the trip they looked after my luggage […] and supplied me with a safety deposit box for my passport, electricals, cards and money. 위치는 치앙마이 구도심 북동쪽 코너밖입니다. 쏭테우나 뚝뚝 기사들도 잘 모릅니다. 가기도 쉽지 않고요. 주변엔 아무것도 없습니다.(호텔 바로옆에 대형 야외 부페 하나가 있습니다.) 호텔 에어컨은 냄새나고 소리나고, 호텔 자체도 오래되고, 시트나 이불도 옛날것입니다. 도착한날 일찍 체크인이 되어서 고마웠지만 호텔상태는 할인된 그 가격에도 못미친다고 생각합니다. 우리나라 여인숙 정도랄까요. 게스트하우스 정도의 환경에 만족하시는 분이라면 모를까 호텔을 기대하시는 분께는 추천하지 않습니다. 비용을 아끼고 싶은분만 가보시길.

機場去FX大約10MINS, SATURDAY& SUNDAY MARKET同樣約10MINS, 坐TUKTUK前往十分方便, 酒店附近(步行前往不用1MIN)有一間24HRS 7-11. 步行約3MIN有一至兩間清吧. 酒店位置在地圖上顯示需轉入一條小巷才可到達, 其實不是小巷, 是一條很闊的街道, 所以是很安全的. 其實這是一間很便宜的酒店, 由於我和朋友知道2日都會出外, 很少時間在酒店, 所以不太重視有什麼設施, 但有些事想提一提, 1, 飲用熱水請在大堂旁的熱水機取用. 2, 入房後請檢查所有燈, 電話, 冷熱水開關是否可使用, 如使用時有任何問題, 職員們會很樂意幫你的.(請放心, 房間問題不會造成你很大不便) 3, 如要使用WIFI, 請在大堂使用. 令我意想不到的是酒店大堂很光很大, […] 房間很闊很大, 光線又夠, 這樣的價錢真的很便宜, 我第一次去清邁就在這裡住兩晚, 很喜歡這間酒店, 下次再去, 必定再來. 我不是刻意幫酒店賣廣告, 而是真的值得推薦的酒店 Read more
