Heart Six Guest Ranch - Moran

We stayed at Heart Six Guest Ranch for one night at the end of September when most of their activities seemed to be closed for the season. This was fine, as we were in the area to visit Grand Teton. Strangely, no one greeted us at the front desk when we checked in. Only an envelope with our name and key was left there plus a walkie talkie to page them […] in case we needed something urgently. We wandered the property that afternoon, and still, no one spoke to us or acknowledged us. The rooms themselves were fairly clean and cute, but there were several problems. The door locks were flimsy and without deadbolts, the beds sagged and the springs could be felt when laying on the cheap mattress, and above all, the walls were paper thin. We could hear every word of our neighbors' conversation, and they were speaking at normal volume. I'm not sure there was anywhere to grab dinner on this property (again, no one was around to ask). At least we were close to Jackson Lake Lodge, where we decided to spend the evening on their back patio and grab dinner. Read more

I was on the road and asked my wife to make a reservation. When she called the hotel, she was immediately connected to voice mail and left a message that hotel.com showed 1 room was available. When there was no call back... She booked the room on hotel.com, received a conformation. When I arrived i was told they were closed for the season. Someone from […] kitchen found the manager and they were able to direct me to a room, the second half of a duplex. On the other side was a young family,the walls were thin and the jacuzzi running at 4 am, hair dryer at 7 did not make for a good nights sleep. This ranch is out in the middle of no where and certainly do not stay here if you want to go to Yellowstone, the drive is to far. Even if you are visiting Grand Teton National Park you would be better staying in Jackson Hole. There is absolutely nothing to do in this town--if you call it a town. The walls are paper thin and you can hear the guests talking […] in the next room. The rooms are extremely small and you can not eat there unless reservations are made ahead of time. Not pleased at all. We were put in a room away from the actual Heart Six Ranch area. It was down the hill just yards off a paved road. There was no phone, air-conditioner, wifi service or cell service. We did not feel safe at all. I had paid for four nights but left after two.

We were just a one night guest and the rooms we were given were in what appeared to be the oldest part of the facility and were not separate, nice cabins as is depicted on the web site. We were disappointed. In their defense, they were very nice and this is a dude ranch that caters primarily to guests who stay longer and sign up for horseback rides, […] etc. I would not recommend this ranch for people staying overnight only. It may be OK as a dude ranch, but don't stay here as a hotel. They promote it that way to rent out vacant rooms for unoccupied dates, but it's deceptive. Their website looks great, and we had looked forward to the evening cocktails and a great meal at their country-style restaurant, since the site featured them, but we couldn't even eat there because […] we "didn't make a reservation" ahead of time. If we ever return to the Yellowstone/Grand Teton area, we will stay at the Heart 6 Guest Ranch. The staff was incredibly nice and helpful. We felt at home there. They have activities that go on there or you can head out on your own. We spent days exploring Yellowstone and fishing in the Grand Tetons.

Heart Six was affordable and convenient to much of the Tetons. We did not take advantage of the meals or activities except for an excellent ride on horseback into the national forest. No cell phone or wi-fi while we were there. Friendly staff.

Rustic cabin, close to Grand Teton Park. Do not expect any thing other than basic room. No A/C, no phone and no TV. Sprint does not work here but rarely does in WY unless roaming active. Snack bar next door and can eat at resturant on premises if have the money and make reservations day before. Room super clean but bed not confortable. Able to step […] out of room and see Tetons though so view made up for some of shortcomings. Need to work on sound proofing though could hear conversations and potty sound next door. Poor security, interior doors and locks in use for exterior doors. Mixed feeling about this hotel. Did room only and not "dude ranch option" so did not eat at resort or spend much time there. No TV or phone which can be good or bad. Super thin walls so felt like had to whisper all the time so neighbor would not hear conversation. When neighbor went to bathroom sounded like in same room. I booked this room because all of the rooms in Jackson were overpriced or sold out. I was very pleased with this place because it was within 15 minutes to the Teton Park and we did not have to deal with all of the people in Jackson. We were given a cabin close to the cafe and away from the main dude ranch but we had a great view of the river and a spacious […] apartment style quarters. I found this little dude ranch for an upcoming trip to the Grand Tetons. It was perfectly located just a few miles from one of the entrances to the Grand Tetons. The price was a steal compared to some of the in-park resorts. After a long day of driving, we landed at the heart 6 ranch. It appeared just as one would expect a ranch to appear. While waiting […] at the front desk to be served, one of the "managers" by the name of Paul stuck his head through the half door and rudely attacked the lady at the front desk for a perceived wrong she had done earlier in the day. It was an issue that could not be solved by her at the moment and was completely unnecessary. He was obviously frustrated and let it out. It would have been improper if they were in private but in front of us and another couple checking in left every one uncomfortable and the lady at the front desk in tears. If I hadn't prepaid, I would have walked out right there. The lady at the front desk was very helpful after she regained her composure. She gave us excellent suggestions for dinner as well as a romantic scenic drive in the area. The room was cute. From the porch we could see the Grand Tetons as well as the Snake river. The wall between our room and the room next to us was not very insulated. Our neighbors returned to their room around 2 am. In the morning we tried the cafe next door.
