"Meget centralt beliggende og god service"
Madrid er en fantastisk by, og hotellet ligger perfekt i forhold til den gamle bydel, spisesteder og shopping. Desuden er der en central station tæt på hotellet, som har nem tilslutning til de berømte museer samt lufthavnen.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Location, Location, Location"

The room was quite alright for 3 people, the staff were very kind and helpful as to recommendations. Regardless of what the hotel has to offer on the inside, it's the location that makes it perfect. Plaza Del Sol is less than 1 minute away from this hotel and restaurants and Pubs are just under the Hotel and around it. It is very well located that you can spend the day touring Madrid, get to the Hotel, change clothes and go to restaurant or simply sit at Plaza Del Sol. Now with this location comes one downfall, the noise at night. On weekends pubs are way busy until early morning so the noises from crowd can be quite loud (A group of friends were singing Happy Birthday to someone at 4:30am) However, if you've been touring all day and drinking Sangrias at night, you'll sleep like a log and won't hear a thing.

We stayed there for the Madrid Marathon 2012. A bit hard to find at first, few doors and we happen to get through service door. Main entrance a lot better:) Clean and tidy, friendly stuff. A bit hard to enter as after certain time you need to ring a bell downstairs. Breakfast in a restaurant behind a corner, took as a long time to find it the first morning. Stuff in the restaurant very abrupt, if you dont speak Spanish it is your problem! Overall happy enough with the hotel itself. Great location, walking distance form the centre, lots of restaurants around.

Advantages: good location, clean rooms and common areas, good breakfast with room. Hotel staff were very helpful and courteous. Disadvantage: only negative was very loud guests in adjacent room, late at night, combined with apparently thin interior walls.
"Great location in Madrid"

In the heart of the city, next to Plaza del Sol. Lots of great restaurants in the vicinity. Good for visitors to Madrid. Hop on hop off bus just down the street. Good value. Easy walk to most of the sights of Madrid. Maybe a bit noisey at night with people in the hallways. Breakfast included at nice restaurant around the corner.
"Close to everything "
The Hostel offers rooms with a safe, and are average in size for a short visit. It was a bit hard to find from the street as a sign a few doors down makes it a bit confusing to find. Once inside there is an elevator that you can use, but its so small i missed seeing it and walked up two flights of stairs. The checkin is fine, they have free wifi, and it seems that the guy at the counter is always having a bad day (maybe it's just a borring job?) ... So be easy on him. The bed is not soft but feels great anyway after a long day of walking. And you can hear people walking in the hall at night. Overall it's a good place for short stays because it is so close to everything from the Palace to Hemmingway's bars that he frequented, to the oldest restaurant in the world. I would probably stay there again because it's so convenient. If you are looking for luxury, room service, bell hops, perfect service, spa services ... Forget it this place isn't for you, go somewhere else. If your looking for a simple, safe and secure place to leave your things while exploring Madrid on foot, then you will like this place. My rating is strictly because of how convenient this place is when it comes to exploring Madrid.
"perfect place for discovering Madrid"

We stayed 2 days, just a great weekend in Madrid. The absolute plus is the location - 1minute from Puerta del Sol is amazing. Everything is close on foot, so you do not need to buy any tickets (apart from airport). Hotel is small but staff is very friendly and helpful. Great value are breakfasts served in near restaurant. Very tasty and Spanish :) Rooms are quite small but we only sleeped there so no problem. Bathrooms are even smaller :) but it is ok. It is great value if you stay there for a weekend! The only minus is lack of Wifi in our room - it is available in hostal however. Generally great pick! Defenitely I would come back there

This hotel was a little hard to find, but once we found it ( there is another Al hambra sign on the next bldg - whih is an old sign they need to take down) it is a gem. Located very close to SOL metro station, where all the shops, and restautrants are. Plenty of activities. All the bus and Metro transit runs by this area. the rooms are clean with Hard wood floors throughout, clean bathrooms ( european bathrooms are always small for American standards). every room has a window, ours was on the back of the hotel, so it was good not to have any noise coming in from the streets below, as people stay up till 2AM in the busy streets. the breakfast is good. And they apparently have internet in the rooms, I could never get mine to work. Also our room had a seperate hot and cold water faucet ( weird), should be replaced with a new single faucet. Room had Cold AC, clean towels, very secure. Really enjoyed our stay at the hotel.
"Fantastic little place"

This hotel was perfect for our needs. I was a bit worried with it being called a hostal, however I soon discovered it just means small hotel!! Our room was at the back of the hotel and therefore there was no view! However it meant it was quieter at night. It was very clean. We were given clean towels everyday. The staff were extremely helpful and welcoming. The breakfast was OK, more suited to european people who eat lots of fruit!!! The toast with various toppings were lovely. The breakfast place is just around the corner of the hotel. Overall, we enjoyed our visit and would recommend this hotel for people looking for somewhere cheap and friendly to stay.

Our family stayed here for two nights in July 2012. We followed other travelers' advice and requested an inside room not facing the busy street which is lined with restaurants and people party late into the night - so we had quiet when we wanted to go to sleep. The hotel's location is great, just a block from the Puerta Sol train station and a short walk to the Plaza Mayor. Tons of great small restaurants within a stone's throw. This was our first time to Madrid and we didn't know what to expect. It was a fun cross between NYC and Key West. Lots of activity and restaurants open late and it feels very safe. The hotel is upstairs two tall flights but there is a small elevator. The complimentary breakfast is at the owners' restaurant a block and a half away and it's yummy - choices of a small loaf of toasted bread (pan rustic) with various toppings plus a small buffet with some meats, cheeses, and fruit. We were very pleased. Would have liked to have more time to have eaten there for dinner. Room was extremely clean with a very modern shower (great water pressure and a rainfall shower head) although no auditory privacy on the toilet. There was plenty of air conditioning and individual room control. The rooms are like small dorm rooms - very efficient with unbelievably hard mattresses even for Europe. That was the only downside. I could have used a mattress topper and more than one pillow. But it was a good value and the location, cleanliness, great wifi connection (we were traveling with a teenager), safe facility, and yummy breakfast would bring me back here next time I'm in Madrid.
