Very good hotel with friendly staff. Nice relaxing walk from hotel to town over Milennium Bridge. Didn't try food, but bar is nicely laid out and relaxing.

I was initially very impressed with the place. It's new looking, well located for the Universities of Northumbria and Newcastle, rooms are ok sized for Europe and are well set out. The problem is WIFI. The free WIFI on the third floor worked intermittenylt on the first day of my stay and not on the other two days. My (very new) PC picked it up beautifully on the 2nd floor (hall) and in the lobby. All they could do was "reset it", by which I suppose they meant cycle the power. It was a great inconvenience.

"A little flavor of N. England"
This hotel is advertised to be in Hexham when in actuality it is in Ascomb, a neighboring town. This caused some confusion for us and the taxi driver. It is a quaint little place above a pub and in a quiet village away from any kind of services. The food was good.Genuine Expedia guest review
"A very warm welcome"
We were made to feel very welcome at the Sun Inn. The evening meal was excellent and nothing was too much trouble. Would recomment this to anyone thinking of walking and exploring the area - a great base. Highly recommended also to anyone taking part in next year's Great North Run - the special breakfast got me throught it!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
