"Beautiful boutique hotel - very pleasant surprise!"
This was one of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed in. From the bathroom fixtures to the elevator to the room amenities, everything was gleaming and first-rate. I had not heard of this small chain of only three cities, but I'll definitely be coming back. I even got an amazing organic grass-fed steak at 10:00pm at the bar!Genuine Expedia guest review

"Great place to stay"
We chose this location because we were going to a concert at the Sprint Center. There were 4 women and we felt very safe walking a block and a half to our concert. We didn't spend much time in the hotel but the time we did, we were very satisified. They were very accommodating when we asked for more water and coffee. Would definitely stay here agai […] n. Having stayed at a different hotel in Kansas City last year, staying at the Ambassador this year put the previous place to shame. From the check-in experience to checking out everything was above my expectations.Genuine Expedia guest review
"very cool hotel...upscale modern vibe"
great room. lots of space. nicely decorated. well appointedGenuine Expedia guest review
The room was nice and well decorated. The interior of the hotel was beautifully decorated. The fitness center was lacking and no pool- wish they had more to offer..The room itself was clean (on the surface)- we couldn't find the remote and had to look under the bed :/ EEKKK...gross. We chose to walk to our restaurant and ended up being harassed by people […] from the surrounding neighborhoods- all in all it was a fun staycation. The price of the room was a decent value. We drove from Atlanta - and took the scenic route - so had fifteen hours under our belts when we arrived at 9:30pm, so all we wanted was an easy check-in and a comfortable room. We were welcomed immediately and received swift, professional service. Our room was more indulgent, cozy, beautiful, and spacious than we had imagined. The decor was modern, […] tasteful, and the aesthetics were warm and luxurious. The bathroom was outstanding, with granite-work in the shower that was inspiring and well-done. The only word for the bed was 'heavenly'. The overall impression of both the room and hotel was that someone had taken real care in the overall aesthetic as well as construction. The only downside was that my significant other was bothered twice by panhandlers when he went down to the parking lot to get things from our car. We would definitely revisit the Ambassador when travelling through Kansas City. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"New and fresh"
Good digs for the price. One year old and they are anxious to please. Loved the breakfast, high end breakfast at dinner prices. Rooms are modern with all the amenities. Walk to Sprint Center and the entertainment district... Or get a ride in the Caddy Escapade. Will stay there again.Genuine Expedia guest review
"The Ambassador is great!"
Staff was great, front desk was efficient, parking is good, bar is spectacular, great location to everything downtown, rooms were big and clean, bathrooms were huge and clean.. I could not get the AC to work right. It was either 75 or 60 degrees. Highly recommend the hotel!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Modern and Convenient Stay!"
I was very impressed with our stay. My only complaints are that the room wasn't clean until after 4 pm, which left us without towels. And there was road work being done, which involved jack hammers outside of our room sounding off early Saturday morning. Overall I would definitely stay there again! Very convenient (a block away from Power and Light) […] and the staff was great! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We went to KC for a concert at the Sprint Center. This hotel is within easy walking distance of the Sprint Center, store & restaurants in the area. They also have complimentary shuttle service w/I 5 miles. The hotel staff were friendly & recommended a wonderful restaurant, The Majestic. The only thing that bothered us was that the maid knocked on our […] door at 8 AM. Not cool when theckout wasn't until 12PM. The need "do not disturb" sign to avoid this. "Sprint Center convenience"
Great bathroom with dual vanities. COmfy bed. Quiet. Nice decor and a good HD TV. Helpful staff, especially the baggage assistant. Less than two blocks from Sprint Center and KC Live at Power and Light District. Wish we had tried out the restaurant. Loved the funky chairs and the vibe there.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Not a great evening"
So my wife and I chose this hotel for a couple of reasons, 1. It looked like a really nice hotel for us to be for our 1st wedding anniversary and 2. It was conveniently located to a wedding reception we were attending. When we arrived back at our hotel at 11pm there was a party in the reception /lounge area and people were walking in off the street. […] The music was blaring. We retired to our room and prepared for bed. At around 12 am we heard loud shouting and doors being slammed on our floor. My wife eventually called the front desk and complained. The noise did however not abate and in fact got worse. This continued until at least 1:40 am. Nothing was done by the hotel to try silence the noisemakers. There was also no access control from the party to the elevators accessing the bedrooms. Stay away from this hotel if you are looking for a peaceful quiete night. "Boutique at its finest in KC-MO"
It was a very pleasant stay and the bar tender, Cody (I believe he was known) made some excellent Old Fashions (hence the "I believe" statement previous). I definitely recommend it to anyone looking to take their stay up a notch or two.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Rudest most inept service."
People working there rude and incompetent. Had many aggravating experiences in a 12 hour stay that will definitely cause me to look elsewhere for accommodations next time I am in KC.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great for business or weekend get away"
This hotel offered great service, large clean and comfortable rooms, with a great location. Not great for children as their is no pool or fitness center. Other than that, would stay again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The free shuttle service was great, and we appreciated being within walking distance of Power and Lights District.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very long night"
First, they are a pet friendly hotel, but the closest place to potty them is 1 1/2 blocks away and the staff didn't even know about it. There is a hefty price for them to stay too. Second, (It wasn't peek season) they put us in a room that faced the main street, that they know there was an event that night. We didn't realize it til just before bed. […] Third, the air conditioner was very noisy when it kicked on, and hot when it wasn't on. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"No indoor pool / fitness center size of closet"
If you want a swanky place to have drinks and walk to shopping.... Stay here. If you want a luxurious room with all the bells and whistles go somewhere else. Our fridge had not been cleaned out and had the previous guests leftovers inside. Gross! The fitness "center" is literally a joke. It is the size of my closet at home. The water was never " hot" […] as well.... To end it in a nice note, I will say the decor is upscale and I loved the free well working wifi. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"A 10 in my estimation."
Good hotel, high quality renovation, good location, great staff and the local courtesy car is a great amenity. No complaints. If I do business in KC, I'm there!Genuine Expedia guest review
My husband and I stayed at the Ambassador Hotel this weekend for a "Babymoon." The room decor was really beautiful and the service of the hotel was great. We took advantage of their free transportation within a 5 mile radius and it was such a nice addition! We were taken by Escalade to a near by Italian restaurant an picked up promptly atter we were […] finished. Because there aren't that many rooms I heard doors closing but never any voices in the halls so it was nice and quiet when we were sleeping. My only complaints were that when we arrived there was not much parking available in the lot because of an event and the hotel charges tax on the parking on top of the $15/day fee. Also, there was some dust on the tv console but that wasn't a big deal breaker. My other complaint was that the door between the bathroom and bedroom didn't lock or close, it was more of a sliding partition so make sure you are staying there with someone you are comfortable with :) Overall I feel the decor was fresh and new and we really enjoyed our stay. I would definitely recommend it to others. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Perfect for a romantic evening."
My husband and I came to town for a special concert. I wanted the whole trip to be special so I tried to pick a special hotel too. Boy was it! From the moment we walked in it was perfect. The customer service was above and beyond. They even provided us with a ride to and from the concert, and a card to get us 15% off our dinner at a nice restaurant. The […] room was exactly as shown on the website. It was beautiful and spacious. I would definitely go back and I would recommend it to anyone wanting a romantic night together. "Christmas Eve stay"
The hotel staff was wonderful and the room was excellent. Enjoyed the pirvate parking, however I paid extra for a corner room that overlooked downtown and the only view I had was of an adjacent building and the slummy parking lot. Should notthe charged extra for what was basically nothing.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Lovely hotel, good location, thin walls, bad food"
I recently stayed five nights at The Ambassador for business. The location is central to The Plaza and Power & Lights. The room was very nicely appointed, clean, and new. My room was unfortunately located near the parking lot where the dumpsters are, and I was jarred awake numerous nights by the sound of a trash truck shaking and banging the dumpsters. […] The room walls are quite thin, so I could clearly hear the people in the hallway, the dog barking a few doors down, and the couple enjoying their stay in the room next door. The food at Reserve was mediocre at best and over-priced. Had the noise been more managable and the food been better, I would have given the hotel a rating of 5. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
This boutique hotel ranks up with the very best in the area. The Phillips Hotel is the only other one that I would even consider staying at when we return. We travel to K.C. frequently and the experience at the Ambassador was fantastic so will definitely be returning. It is quite romantic, quiet, and elegant. A place for couples to relax and enjoy.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Smell of Sewers"
The smell of sewers permeated the entire hotel lobby, restaurant, and bar area on the ground floor. Management said Kansas City, Missouri sewer systems have "issues" all the time. It stunk out on the street as well. Too late for us to change the reservation, at least it didn't stink in the room. There was no hot water for the showers the next morning. […] Worst hotel stay I've had. Nothing management could do about sewer smell - except hot water would be nice. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Excellent staff in a gorgeous setting"
The room was decorated very nicely. We really liked the furnishings, color scheme, cleanliness and comfort. It was not huge, but larger than many rooms. The staff was excellent. They were very knowledgeable regarding the history of the hotel and Kansas City sites. They made excellent suggestions on restaurants and things to do in the area. The hotel […] restaurant was excellent. Our "traditional Thanksgiving turkey dinner" was extraordinary! We also enjoyed breakfast two mornings. The chef is a true gem. One of the great perks was the staff offering rides to local sites including the Thanksgiving night lighting of the lights at Country Club Plaza. It was great enjoying dinner and a bottle of wine without having to worry about driving in a new city. Also made the lighting more enjoyable without the hassle of parking and large amount of traffic. The Ambassador was a real find, the most enjoyable hotel experience these frequent travelers have had in years. I wish every hotel would have such well trained and friendly staff. We will definitely return the next time we are in Kansas City. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"A great place to stay"
Our direct flights in and out of Kansas City made it inconvenient to drive to and from family in the Kansas area, therefore, we needed a place to stay near Kansas City when, for example, our flight landed after midnight. While we could have stayed closer to the airport -- about 25 minutes away from downtown where the Ambassador is -- we read a lot of […] positive reviews and decided to book there. We definitely were pleased with our decision. We stayed in a room with two queen beds to start. The room was spacious, clean, and the decor was modern yet conservative, with cool, calming colors. The bathroom was filled with granite and was also spacious and clean. This is a small hotel that restored an old bank and is within walking distance of a bunch of decent restaurants in the Power & Light District. The hotel has a limited late night menu but the food was fresh and well-prepared. There is also one computer and printer in an office loft that will handle basic travel or business needs. On our way out of Kansas City, we stayed in a corner room with a king bed, another spacious, clean and comfortable room. The linens and pillows are high quality. In addition to being within walking distance of Power & Light, Crown Center (Sea Life, Lego Land Discovery Center, historic Union Station) is a 10 minute drive and the high end outdoor shops and restaurants at Plaza District is 20 minutes away. We highly recommend the Ambassador. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

My husband and I stayed here before a concert at the Sprint Center. We didn't want to mess with traffice before and after and found it quite convenient. "Great Hotel with Luxury Details"
My husband and I went here for a few days as a get away. It is in a fantastic location for anyone going to the Power & Light District or attending anything at the Sprint Center. The decor is fantastic. There isn't a bellhop or anyone opening the door upon arrival but that didn't bother us. The person working at the counter was polite, informative and […] gave me a sewing repair kit as my button had fallen off my coat. It is nice that they offer a car service for around the area but we didn't use it because we could walk to everything. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 in all categories is because the room was a bit dim (but very relaxing) and I found a champagne cork on the floor that didn't belong to us, (probably hard for the maid to even see) but other than that, the room was perfect. My biggest complaint was the $15 a day for parking. It was very nice to have a secure lot though but it seemed $15 was a little high. We also stayed at the Q Hotel and Spa. It did not have as nice of features but was simple, clean, and upbeat. It was $40 a night less and the parking was free in Westport. The shower at the Ambassador is to die for and the fluffy ropes are a nice touch. Our room was also next to the elevator but we didn't hear a thing. The beds, pillows and linens were fantastic. We didn't eat in the restaurant but it looked very nice. I would definitely go back when I was looking for a low key time to relax. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Very clean, upscale hotel. Only 2 blocks from the Power & Light district. We will definitely stay here again and recommend to others!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great FRESH and NEW"
This hotel is brand new, meaning it is very clean and fresh. The room is very classy modern look. Their is a walk in show, which I like more than a bathtub. The bed is more firm than soft but I still sleep well. I wish the bed was more plush or their was an option for plush pillow top beds vs. firm beds. Plenty of pillows of various softness and sizes. […] Free wi-fi access. The hotel is three blocks from plenty of eateries and they even have a car service if you need to be taken somewhere. The lobby is small but I don't hang out in lobbies so that doesn't bother me. Only think they need to change is the annoying ding of the elevator. It sounds like it was taken from a kids toy! Other than that, GREAT rates, and FRESH, clean hotel. Will stay there every time. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
