The staff starts off making you think that they are great. But it becomes hit and miss on the level of service. The food is just okay. For the fact that they tell you they have premium food and drink, this is not the case. Not a great deal of seafood at any of the dining outlets. No swim up bar and the entertainment staff is never to be found. Not sure […] what their job is. Upgrading is not worth the extra cost. Two out of the six nights we came back to our room with the wet towels still on the floor. If you run out of anything in your room you have to chase housekeeping down to get it. At this level of resort this should never happen. We have stayed at many of the Secrets and Dreams Resorts and this has never happened. You can see that management of the staff is lacking. Because the hotel is done in so many light colors you can see the dirt and stains on a lot of the furniture. Silversands Resort is nicer and the food is better. Only thing on Silversands is the beach is not as nice.l Read more

I stayed there for one night when came to meet my friends from overseas. The only hitch I encountered was that the hotel was religiously sticking to 3pm check-in time. I arrived at 12.30 and had to wait. Usually, hotels have a room to accommodate early check-ins. Other than that everything else was just fine: pools , spa, beach and beach services. The hotel has plenty bars and restaurants, the food is great and local tequila is something you want to bring back home. The electric outlets are of US type so you do not need adapters. One catch: there were very few of them in the room. WiFi works good and they have several WiFi networks so they cover the whole hotel area. And if you feel you want to go out, the local clubs are nearby and hotel has 24hr taxi. Read more

Secrets, the Vine was simply "fabulous". The hotel arcitecture is beautiful and the room could not have been better. Great shower, great bed, great balconey. We were on the 25th floor and the view was incredible. The food was great overall, (asian ok, but not great), and the booze, wine, liquor selection was great. Staff was friendly, helpful and there to please. We played golf at Playa Mujeres, and that was also great. The concierge set it up, we payed for the cart and transportation, (we also rented clubs for a reasonable price). The hotel is brand new. The room I got was huge with a great balcony and a beautiful wet area with double shower. The staff is amazing, the food is great and the drinks are good quality. Music to loud, I go on vacation to relax, not to be blasted out of my lounge chair or bed! You also had to get your own drinks at the pool, need to hire more people to serve you. None of the ice machines were turned on. They need to open the coffee bar much earlier in the mornings.

I upgraded my room to a preferred club junior suite. The prefferred club gives you access to a private pool on the 12 floor ( the pool is very small and over crowded and no one ever checked to make sure I was in the preferred club). The same thing goes for the preferred club lounge located outside the elevator on the 21st floor ( very small area, a […] good place to grab a cup of coffee or green tea). The newspaper is a joke ( 5 pages printed off of a computer and stapled together). The WiFi is ok but slow to U S standards. The wine is very overpriced. The service on the beach, in the resturants, and in the bars is excellent. Be aware of the Unlimited Vacation breakfast meeting they offer when you check in, they will sucker you into a very pushy sales pitch to join there time share for $60,000(just say no). The spa is very expensive and not worth it. Overall I was very happy with my vacation choice, I think next time I go to Cancun I will try a different hotel just to have something to compare with. Very clean very nice very pretty we will return. This was our second visit to a Secrets Resorts. The first time was at Secrets Wild Orcid in Jamaica which was very nice but Secrets The Vine was amazing. We will be returning again and will recommend the place to anyone. The hotel has a contemporary style and extremely well maintained. Despite being a small complex with only one building, there were plenty of areas to lounge around inside and outside. We enjoyed the variety at dinner at the five restaurants, and though there was just one for breakfast, they had enough choices to please anyone. There were luxurious touches, […] marble everywhere, real towels in the public restrooms on the lobby floor, linens in every restaurant, etc. You're never far from a bar, and there was even a great coffee bar serving specialty coffees. The room was great. We had a Junior Suite, which was extremely spacious, nearly twice the size of the standard room. The king size bed was extremely comfortable, and there was plenty of closet space to store personal effects. The furniture was sparse, and the sofa/chairs uncomfortable, but we didn't mind. We were on the 10th floor, which is the lowest floor for rooms, just above the lobby level, so really the 2nd floor! We did have a clear view of the ocean, Even numbered rooms on the 10th floor have this enormous balcony, about 4 times the size of the other floors. It was a shame that it didn't have any more furniture than any other room (seating for 3), so we spend much time with our group there. Service was excellent, everyone was happy to help and we never had to wait long for drinks. The restaurants did take a while to bring out food, especially Sea Salt. We had a wonderful experience from the minute we got off the plane till we returned home. Used Best Day travel for our ride to the hotel from the airport and they were prompt and friendly and the ride was a large suburban and we were the only passengers. Our room was very large and wonderfully appointed. We had no issues with anything not working and the upon arrival they asked us exactly what we would like in our fridge and it was always filled as requested until I left a note and changed it. We were on the Hard Rock Hotel side and it was noisy at times as I had read in reviews but we were in our room very little so it wasn't a problem. Their is a noise problem from the hallways outside the rooms, the doors seem to close very loudly but we were tired when we went to bed each night and only seemed to bother us in the morning. They decorated our room with balloons and left a cake for my husbands birthday which he enjoyed. Service at breakfast could be spotty, sometimes it took a while to get a drink and/or a refill. Multiple choices for where to have lunch though we didn't enjoy the hamburgers, didn't look like "real beef". We tried 4 of the restaurants for dinner and returned to the steak house 3 nights and also enjoyed the food at the sports bar. Overall the staff was very attentive. Read more

This was our first visit to Cancun. While the hotel was beautiful, and the service was great, we might just be too old for Cancun. Staying at an all inclusive, might be a tip off that there will be people drinking all day, and staying up late at night. Our only problem with the hotel was the very loud music we could hear until 10:30 or 11:00 outside […] our balcony. One night we could even hear a drum concert from the neighboring Hard Rock Cafe. The Vine has only been open since August so you have to expect some issues, It lacks "artwork" which was pointed out by my wife. It seemed unfinished in some places; the room lacked a desk and the balconies lacked privicy. The food was average at best, with the best selection was the Italian resturant. The management needs to assess the demographic it attracts and cater the poolside music to accomodate us. The constant techno-thump-thump was annoying. Just returned from our 5 day stay at Secrets The Vine. It's a beautiful, brand new resort. Very clean, modern designed resort. The bed was comfy, wonderful big shower. I didn't give the room 5 stars because I've stayed in 4 other all inclusive a in Cancun and they all had jacuzzi tubs in the rooms. That would have made the room a 5! We ate at 5 out […] of the 6 restaurants and the food was delicious. The service in the restaurants is why I only gave 3 stars for service. It took at least 2 hours at every meal. Way too drawn out! Housekeeping, room service, wait staff on beach and concierge were all excellent. The pools were nice, gym great, wonderful spa. Beach was clean but kind of small. The hotel is right next to Hard Rock and we were there during their opening weekend so they had long loud nights. It's very close as is the hotel on the other side. Entertainment was provided every night at the Secrets The Vine and it was pretty good considering it was included in the price. This hotel is definitely more of an active style resort. If you're looking for quiet and seclusion, this isn't the best choice although inspite of that I recommend this hotel Read more

It is a brand new resort, so there were some kinks in our service at a restaurant and with the amenities we should have received, but the staff really focus on getting everything perfect, so they definitely want the feedback to improve.
