      An amazing place! Superb accomodation with great views of St. Cirq Lapopie across the Lot valley. Excellent continental breakfasts at the hotel but hotel bus or own transport required to reach the restaurants in St. Cirq. I would not recommend their Gourmet one but plenty of others. Close to the caves at Grottes du Pech-Merle which are well worth visiting but can be busy and only allow 700 persons per day so you may need to book a few days in advance. We were lucky and got straight in!

      Americans traveling to the Channel Islands can add up in prices. There are no hostels and if you don't want to go camping, going on the cheap is a little difficult. However, this hotel was excellent. There were 3 of us, so we were upgraded to a family room. Continental breakfast is included so you save money that way. Also, if you don't feel like going in the salt water, there is a nice pool in the back. We loved this hotel and if we go back to Jersey then we would defiantly go back. The quality and staff were great.

      I have passed this hotel several times on previous visits to Jersey and always wanted to stay there. Although I usually stay in St Helier, this beautiful beach hotel was perfect to show my fiancee the island that I love on her first visit since leaving the island in infantcy. The facilities and staff were of the highest standard and we plan to return next year, soon after our wedding.

    Dining

    The Conservatory Restaurant, with beautiful sea views, is a One rosette fine-dining restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Reservations are required. Local seafood is a speciality, including Herm Oysters, Guernsey Seabass, hand dived Scallops and Lobster. Guests are asked to dress smartly for this restaurant. The wine list is also worth a mention, as it is one of the most comprehensive lists in the Channel Islands. French wines are a speciality, with the majority bought directly from vineyards and negociants.

    The Ship Inn Brasserie is a more informal restaurant serving fabulous food within the Hotel. Again the Ship is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

    Recreation

    The Hotel has an outdoor swimming pool which is heated by solar panels, and an outdoor tennit court. There is no charge for these facilities to Hotel residents.

    Close by is Herm harbour, where yachts can moor on our mooring buoys. Sea fishing is available by charter boat, and by a shore fishing guide. Yacht and motor boat charters are available. All of these activities can be arranged by Hotel reception.

    Herm has six main beaches, all of which are a short walk away from the Hotel. The closest is directly in front of the Hotel. The gardens of the Hotel, and the rest of the Islands have won their category in Britain in Bloom in 2002, 2008 and are an entrant for 2012.

    Herm is a tiny island - one of the smallest of the Channel Islands - with about 60 permanent residents, swelling to several times that number by holidaymakers in the season. The White House is a 45-bedroom hotel on the island (there is also a pub and holiday cottages) with superb cuisine, ultra-friendly and helpful staff and very comfortable bedrooms. […] The island itself is the main attraction however, with its walks, sandy beaches, flora and fauna and no-cars!
