"delightful but perhaps uber-twee"
A great welcome room hosts just back from a long distance trip themselves. Backwards and forwards from the car with bags etc was made much more difficult by the shoes-off rule here. Why can't people choose darker coloured carpets? Could have done with less plastic 'plants' in room and more modern bathroom with taps which turn on and off in the conventional […] manner. Excellent breakfast, but might have been tricky had we needed an early getaway. More shoes on/off mayhem on departure! Not sure American b&bs should expect to charge premium rates compared with UK or worldwide equivalents, but full occupation in august gives us customers less choice. "Peaceful and relaxing"
This place really lived up to its name. The garden is lovely, and in the evening it smelled wonderful! It was pretty hot while we were there, but our room had a fan and good cross-ventilation. Breakfasts were simple fare, with fresh homemade breads everyday. Michaela and Rick were excellent hosts. This was the best part of our trip - so glad we stayed […] 3 nights!! What a lovely place to stay. Our hosts could not have been more friendly and accommodating. The room was very clean and the breakfast was excellent with home cooking and other foods to choose from. Add all this to a location that is steps away to the public beach and boat launch!Genuine Expedia guest review

We were really amazed by the quality of the Service and the comfort. For Breakfast we had wonderfull coffee, very tasy scrambled eggs and there was a good continental breakfast to help yourself to. We also liked the familiarity of the atmosphere during breakfast.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Staying in Chemainus"
We arrived on our motorbike and where immediately greeted by Michaela and Rick. Our room was one floor up in front of the dinning room. The room was comfortable and clean with an on suite bathroom. The breakfast […] was served at 9 sharp which consistent of scrambled eggs, toast, muffins, fruits, yogurt, cereals, coffee, tea and juice. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"A great B&B"
My wife and I really enjoyed our stay here. Very friendly owners, a great property and a tasty breakfast! One point off on cleanliness due to a small stain on one of the pillows on our bed and a grimy TV remote control. Rest of the room was very clean and comfortable though! I would stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Lovely, comfortable B&B. Breakfast was delicious served in a pleasing setting by a friendly and welcoming couple. I would (and have) recommed this facility. This B&B is aptly named "A Scented Garden"; I enjoyed a pleasant few hours relaxing in the garden!Genuine Expedia guest review
"A Gardener's Retreat"
Hospitality was evident as soon as we parked the car right outside the house in a set-aside private parking space. Room overlooked the garden and was very quiet. The room contained a microwave, coffee maker and 'fixins for tea or coffee. We even had a small fridge just outside our door. Information about restaurants and activities were available and […] the few menus on hand were helpful in choosing a spot for dinner. The stay was perfect in every way. We will definitely be back if we are in Chemainus again. It is a very fascinating seaside town. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Quiet and welcoming"

We loved the quietness and the welcome we received. The breakfast was excellent and very relaxing. The first morning we had to be of early and arrangements were made to provide us with a breakfast we could eat on the run. We actually stayed here August 2013 but the option was not available.
"What a treat!"

We stayed two nights at A Scented Garden B&B and were very pleased with the large, beautiful room, complete with jacuzzi. Especially nice was the fact that the very hospitable hosts thought of everything to make our stay extra special, from cookies and tea available on arrival, a delicious breakfast, including fresh fruit, and endless good coffee. This place is a real gem and it's our new favourite B&B in Chemainus.
"A wonderful B&B"

Spent a total of three nights here, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We stayed in the Island Thyme room, which was spacious and with a great en suite with a double whirlpool tub. The breakfasts were well laid out, very tasty, and served with pleasant advice about the local attractions, with recommendations of the fine dining establishment in the area. All in all, a very pleasant stay in a very pleasant and quaint town.
"Looking Forward to Going Back!"

I loved every moment of my stay at A Scented Garden. From the moment I walked in front gate, (where I was greeted by a friendly Calico) was wonderful. The owners were friendly, the breakfasts delicious, the rooms bright and cozy and the location was perfect. I highly recommend A Scented Garden and can't wait to go back.
"Lovely weekend Getaway"
08/12/13 JEHVancouver Vancouver
My husband and I stayed at this charming B&B for two nights when we came to Chemainus to attend the Chemainus Theatre Festival delightful production of "Singin' In the Rain". We stayed in the Mountain View room, overlooking the front of the house. Although we arrived late on Friday night, we were made very welcome. Our accommodation was comfortable and very clean. The breakfast was delicious with lots of choice and Rick and Michaela provided just the right amount of attention and sharing in the conversations between guests. My allergies were remembered and catered to very thoughtfully. Their garden is beautiful and a pleasure to sit in to dream, read or snooze! Chemainus is a charming small town on the water's edge. Lots to explore (besides the murals), easy to walk around - and the professional theatre company does excellent work. Our only complaint was the noise of the A/C - on the other hand, they have A/C which makes the room very comfortable when the weather is hot! A small point, but worth noting for anyone who needs a lot of quiet to sleep well (bring earplugs!)
"Not just a beautiful garden!"
07/02/13 Allison B Vancouver, Canada
We stayed here for Canada Day and let us tell you, this place is amazing!! Thank you Michaela, Rick, and Solly (their adorable Calico kitty) for looking after us so well! Minutes to the beach and downtown Chemainus, we were able to take in the local sights on our quick trip to the island for a wedding. The breakfast was delicious! Complete with Michaela's freshly baked bread, seasonal fruits and wonderful conversations with the hosts. We stayed in the garden view suite which was peaceful and very comfortable. This place shouldn't be missed!
"The three cousins loved our stay here!"
07/01/13 Susan L Langley, British Columbia, Canada
What a charming place for us to spend our last night on the Island before heading back to the mainland. The accommodation, breakfast and friendly hosts were top notch....highly recommended for travelling companions AND a romantic get away! We shared the king size room which was kindly accommodated with an extra bed for our male cousin (the gals got the king size bed! :-) ) The ensuite bathroom was a dream...fabulous tub for two (which was not shared) and the great stone shower were a plus. The dinner recommendation of the local restaurant where THE best prawns were served was so much appreciated too! Thank you for a wonderful stay whilst in Chemainus!
"Excellent b&b and Hosts"
05/28/13 James H Inverness, United Kingdom
Michaela and Rick looked after us extremely well. Breakfasts were great. Lovely room called Garden View which looked over the very pretty garden. A very comfortable room super comfy bed. The b&b is within easy walking distance of both the beach and the centre of town. Chemainus is a delightful town. The murals were stunning and the museum was very interesting. We hope to go to the theatre when we return.
"A Scented Garden B&B as lovely as the flowers in the garden!"
09/05/12 Morag V Delta
My husband and I rode our bicycles from visiting friends in Cobble Hill, to stay at this charming and welcoming B&B. The hosts Michaela and Rick, are very friendly and helpful and the bedroom had everything that we needed, including our own fridge! The location was perfect as we locked our bikes in the garden shed, and were able to walk and explore the town of Chemainus easily. A lovely breakfast including freshly baked peach scones and fruit salad was served at 9am

We had the pleasure of staying in this wonderful B and B. Lovely gardens, very comfortable room with great amenities. Michaela and Rick, very friendly and nice folks and their cat is a delight. We hope to return again, as there is still so much to see and explore in the surrounding areas of Chemainus.
