"Shame about the building work"
09/29/14 Emma H Nottinghamshire
Unfortunately they are knocking down a building right next this travelodge at the moment and it was noisy. The entrance to the hotel is horrible it's a dark dodgy looking alley passing several wheelie bins to get to the door. But the rooms are newly refurbished and clean. Location is good close to everything.
"Basic but clean and well located"

We only booked here because it was the only place we could get while the ryder cup was on booking only 2 weeks ahead. Due to the ryder cup it was also terrifyingly priced at £180 for the night! Taking aside how obscene that price was for the standard of a travelodge, the place was fine. The location is very central 2 mins from Waverley station and just off princes street. However the entrance is very off putting down an alleyway full of bins! All that aside the room was clean and the bed was reasonably comfortable and seemed pretty new. It is a. It noisy at night however. We were woken by drunk people shouting both nights! It's basic but at least it wasn't shabby. At its normal price of £50 ish it would be reasonable!

Excellent location. Refurbished. Good size rooms (larger than usual) Ideal for exploring Edinburgh. Excellent value considering location although car park at £15 per night added cost. Would visit again.

This Travelodge Hotel is so convenient for everything in Edinburgh, right on Princess Street. The staff are so welcoming and cannot do enough for you, I would use this hotel again when visiting Edinburgh
"Paper is thicker than the walls separating the rooms!"

I would not suggest this at all! Tiny room at the end of a long long corridor, I could pretty much have a covo with my room neighbours, typical travelodge, taking away quality for quantity of rooms. Never again!

Staff are extremely helpful and friendly. Rooms clean and well maintained and hotel is in a perfect location with easy access to transport if needed. I would definitely recommend this to family amd friends.

It is very difficult to find . The entrance is down an alley which had large bins all down it . The entrance and reception were grim . We didn't get any further than the entrance as apart from booking in June we didn't have a room ! They had double booked . We were told this is common practice for Travel Lodge . If this is true then beware . We were found a room at St Mary's Street which was better plus given a free breakfast . The staff were very helpful , but I will be very wary of booking again . My ratings are for the St Mary's street Travel lodge
"Clean & quiet - just right for city break"

Reasonably priced for the city centre and surprisingly quiet although a few 'loud voices' from outside the hotel late at night. Just what was needed for a city break. After the long journey, the pleasant attitude of all staff was welcoming. Would recommend.

The location was great, straight over the road from the train station. Yes the entrance isn't the best but didn't bother us. Also, the staff were very friendly and the room was spacious and clean. The only disappointment was the 2 additional beds in the family room we had. Really nothing more than 2 small matresses on the floor which isn't great for children let alone when 3 adults share the room as we did. A shame when the room was large enough for more beds. Put up with it for one night but would make me think twice about returning.
"Perfect location for a family wedding!"

Amazing location - short walk from railway station and very helpful tip from a reviewer to walk around back of Topshop and opposite the McDonalds. The entrance is by some bins, but this isn't the hotel's fault and can't be helped. Reception were friendly and allowed me to keep my bag with them for a bit so I could explore, with a small charity donation. My room was spacious, clean and had all I needed. There was noise at night time, but this is a central location and it was a weekend, so once again no fault to the hotel. Was perfect for where I needed to stay for a family wedding, and great central location. Would stay again, but if you want quieter at night, possibly look at somewhere out of the town.
