"Nice and quiet getaway"
I stayed in the townhome section, so I can't speak for the hotel portion. The room was very clean, spacious and quite comfortable. The only issue I had was that there was a light on the back porch that I couldn't figure out how to turn off, but I slept well regardless. The restaurant was a pleasant surprise - all the food is prepared fresh with many […] local ingredients and unique pairings. In all, I had a great stay. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Priced for a captive audience but lovely nonethess"
Inn was fine. Staff were friendly and helpful. Arrived late and wanted room service. Menu in room was just a sample, had to call to get current menu. It was delivered quickly. Menu offerings were interesting and gourmet but the pricing was not too bad. Ordered the pumpkin gnocchi. It was excellent and was delivered in 15 mins. Had refrigerator and microwave […] in room which is always a bonus. Child left behind an iPad and headphones and hotel staff went out of their way to track us down after we had checked out to let us know. Super kudos for that! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Little choice in area"
A bit pricey for an overnight but there isn't much around! The room lacked proper lighting in my opinion and the room temp was tricky to balance. The in-house restaurant has good food albeit pricey and watch because they add 25% gratuitiy. THere is no place nearby to eat. Feels like a place you'd go stay a week at in the summer and enjoy like a resort. […] However the bedding and pillows and towels were fantastic and the staff was kind and helpful. "Over prices hotel"
This hotel has very average amenities. And at $180 per night it was seriously over priced. Breakfast options were also seriously limited. I also wonder how well the bed sheets were cleaned. There was a blood stain on my bed sheet. Uggghhh !!!Genuine Expedia guest review
"beautiful and comfortable"
I was in town for one night and wanted more privacy than a BnB. There are not many choices in the area and this was a bit pricey but i used my reward points and got a good deal. The hotel was above expectation - super friendly staff, good food with fast friendly room service, nice large tub that filled fast with good water pressure, the best towels […] i have used in a long time and good bed and pillows, large tv, a desk for my computer and a separate table for meals. Outside there were trees and though you can hear the road nearby it was still serene and i rested well. I would go back again with a sale. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Interlaken looks like a motel from the parking area. The reception area begins to dispel this notion and the rooms complete the process. The rooms were simple, comfortable and 'honest'. The reception area is tight and decorated in what can politely be described as an unattractive hue of brown. It is in dire need of lightening and modernizing. The restaurant, […] which boasts local product etc, was OK in spite of a lengthy inter-course wait although again the decor is weird - an eclectic mixture of old and new, traditional and modern. It smacked of having to deal with what was there before, but could do with a major overhaul in order to justify the prices. My 'grass-fed beef' steak was clothy and tasteless, but my kids enjoyed their organic chicken, hamburger and ham and cheese sandwich, respectively.....as I did! That aside, the staff were all very friendly and the hotel offers good value for money. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Pleasant country setting, easy to find/get to"
Parts of this hotel are original and slightly shabby looking on the outside, but inside our room was fine. Especially enjoyed the small covered porch outside our room. Bedding and pillows were comfortable and appropriate -- no overly heavy comforter type covering which we always remove. WiFi works well, but cell phone coverage is mostly unreliable. […] Needs 1 or 2 towel bars in bathroom, esp. if staying more than one night. No grab-bars available in tub/shower. Hotel personnel are helpful and pleasant. Lawns and grounds are landscaped nicely and very lovely. Rooms on front of the motel can be noisy since facing parking lot and a surprisingly busy road. Gourmet restaurant on site is a bit pricey. No microwave or fridge in our room (107) Only place to buy any gasoline or grocery-type supplies is in an excellent grocery store in towns about 5-6 miles away. We stayed here two nights, out hiking during the days, so these things would have been helpful. But this is country living, so expect adjustments from what you might expect in another motel location. Otherwise a fairly comfortable stay, but even with the reduced Expedia rates, you are paying more for location and ambience. Would recommend, with above mentioned caveats included. "High quality resort"
As usual, the Interlaken was sumptuous and comfortable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
It was pleasant but the check-in and check-out times were not great and the hotel was not very flexible. A big surprise considering the hotel was virtually empty.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel for families - Lots of activities!"
We enjoyed our stay very much. There are many activities for the family - basketball, tennis, swimming, badminton, golf, boating, etc. We found that the room was comfortable and the hotel was clean. I would visit again and would recommend this hotel to friends and family.Genuine Expedia guest review
"A bit moldy"
This hotel was fantastic last time I stayed here. I stayed in a different building that was away from the main building and newer than the main building. THAT room was great, but my recent visit to the main building was not as impressive. The room smelled moldy and was dark and a little bit dated. If you stay here, stay in the newer buildings!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Beautiful Wedding Venue"
The room was clean and beautifully decorated. There was a refrigerator and microwave as well as a coffee maker in the suite. We really enjoyed the hotel and the scenery in the area. We would definitely go back!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very Pricey for an out dated rundown hotel. Though we were upgraded due to construction. Complimentary breakfast was OK, typical continental fare.Probably much nicer when the gardens are in bloom. Nice wedding destination for a casual, smallish group (less than 100).Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Unhelpful front desk staff & scrimped on the rooms"
The best part of the hotel is their beach and the access to the kayaks and canoes, but for the price, this hotel was very disappointing. the professional front desk staff were the most unhelpful and unfriendly I have ever encountered at a hotel. The rooms were not very comfortable, in particular the beds were very small for two adults and you had pay […] more for a king size bed? Ridiculous. Lastly, there are outside lights everywhere creating extensive light noise making it very hard to sleep. Both my husband and I, and our friends had a very uncomfortable night. I would not stay at this hotel again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice hotel close to schools"
We came across the most friendly staff at interlaken inn during our road trip. Their positive attitudes infused the stay with such happy memories that our children are keen to stay at the inn again. The restaurant Morgan's within the inn serves excellent food, and it's especially important for me that the food is sourced locally, thereby supporting […] local farmers and reducing global carbon footprint. "Great Family Experience"
08/25/14 LarryChristine Stewart Manor, New York
Our stay at Interlaken was perfect!! The staff was amazing, always a smile and pleasantry. The Hotel and grounds were spotless. Plenty of activities including: tennis, swimming, canoes, kayaks, fishing, hiking or a lakeside fire pit to re-kindle your family. The continental breakfast was a perfect start to each wonderful day..
"charming rustic getaway"
08/22/14 Kathleen E Franklin Square, New York
We just returned from a 2 night last minute getaway at the Interlaken. It was totally relaxing, the room was very nice (although we stayed in the sunnyside and it was a lot of steps), loved the relaxing porch for reading. Every employee that we came across was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great, nice selection and omelet station. Our getaway included a trip to Millbrook vineyard, where we had a nice tour and great tasting experience. Dinner at Morgans was delicious. My only complaint is that there really was nothing to do at night but they did offer free movie dvds at the front desk and we took advantage of the time to read and watch a movie. I would definitely return it must be beautiful in the fall
"What a great weekend!"

From the time we checked in until we drove away, we were met only with smiles and friendliness. Our room was spacious and clean. We appreciated the mini refrigerator and the balcony. The weather was ideal and we were able to appreciated the amenities on the grounds. Family members went kayaking and swimming. Cousins played tennis and the kids enjoyed the game room. Morgan's Restaurant served beautiful and tasty meals. All in all we enjoyed a grand time.
I discovered this lovely resort by chance. It is located in a green pkace and near a lake and golf courses. Rooms are spacious and clean, wifi is free, as well as sone activities like ping pong, air hokey, kayak and canoes. The gym is small but complete. Breakfast buffet is big enough and with a good selection. There's a small pool. The only thing is that you do not have to be in a hurry if you visit the hotel restaurant for dinner...they are quite slow but food is ok.
"Family reunion with multi generations"
The inn was rustic and very clean. We rented one town house a dog friendly room and a mini suite. All totaled we had 12 with two 2 year olds. We did have a wedding on our weekend but we were told about it ahead of time. The music stopped at 10:00. Not a problem. We enjoyed dancing with our grand children in our back yard. Loved the pool, lake and most of the help were there to give us great service. We rate this a great family vacation. S. E.
"Nice close getaway"
07/31/14 funtravel5389 Livingston, New Jersey
We enjoyed relaxing at the Interlaken Inn, it is a more rustic, country getaway, close to NYC. Morgan's Restaurant was greta and it was nice that the hotel gave us a coupon to use there. We stayed in the Honeymoon Suite and it is a great room - the private outdoor patio with the hot tub is very unique. My husband loved biking in the area. We enjoyed relaxing at the lake and took the boats out as well. Golfing at the next door Hotchkiss School was good. There was a wedding there one night and the front desk did warn us about the movie till 11:30 but due to the location of our room, it wasn't that loud and didn't bother us. There was a power failure our last night (in middle of the night) there which did interrupt our nights sleep, but Kevin, from the Executive Office, really went out his way to discuss with us and ensure that all issues were appropriately addressed. His personal attention and service made all the difference for us. We look forward to returning in the future.
"Decent place, website somewhat deceiving"
07/25/14 Bruce1624 New York City, New York
My wife and I booked a night at the Inn, specifically because they have rooms that accommodate dogs, which suited us during our hiking trip through the Berkshires. A call before the fact to reservations confirmed that the rooms would still be high quality,"no different than the non-dog" rooms. Unfortunately, our room was not of the same quality. I had a chance to visit a "non-dog room." It was appointed much better, was not dark and confining, and had an outside balcony with lawn chairs. Our room was akin to a motel 6 - ground floor, no view, no outside seating. All it was missing was a large parking lot, although our room did face out on to a small one. Beyond that disappointment, as others have said, we stayed on a Saturday night, during a wedding. The music was loud, although it ended at the reasonable hour of 10 PM. But, the wedding attendees continued to party much later. The noise was palpable until well after midnight. Had we paid motel 6 rates for our stay, I would have no complaint. But this resort commands high prices. I do not mind paying those, but I expect a much better experience.
"Wonderful place but agree: BEWARE of weddings"
07/22/14 nyctraveler24 New York, NY
We had the exact same experience as reviewer LeoZ did, several weeks later. We stayed here last year and it is a wonderfully maintained resort with a pool and gorgeous lakefront. We were hoping for a relaxing weekend where our son -- a counselor at a nearby camp -- could stay with us for some "quality time," quiet and R&R on a Saturday and Sunday night. We had a lovely room in the Countryside building, far from the main hotel, same as last year. Upon check-in, we were told there would be a wedding that night with music, but it would over by 10 pm. When we returned from dinner around 9, the wedding was in full swing, with deafening DJ disco music and a thumping bass that shook the building, even with the windows closed. When we called the desk, they then informed us that the music was scheduled to go until 11:30 pm, and that this had been the plan all along. No one could explain the difference between what we were told at check-in vs the reality. It ruined our evening and kept our exhausted son from enjoying his one evening off. There were nice enough to give us a $100 credit upon checkout (the room was $300) and treat us to breakfast... but I would have been very happy to pay full price and not have our stay on such a sour note. Additionally, I thanked the desk clerk who checked us out; he never looked up, never said thanks or apologized or offered any parting words. This clearly is a popular wedding venue and I'm sure if it were my wedding, I'd think it was great. But we need some truth in advertising: they should inform people at the time of reservation if there is going to be a giant nighttime wedding there and also be truthful at the time of check-in. And they should not be taking upwards of $300 a night from those seeking a quiet weekend in the country if they know in advance they can't deliver on that. So I recommend that if you want to stay here -- and when it's quiet it's wonderful -- you press them for details of what other events are booked when you plan your stay....
"Very nice place"
07/20/14 Jean C New York City, New York
It is more akin to a vacation resort rather than hotel. Not only is there a pool, but a lake with Kayaks available for residents for free. The rooms are excellent and the staff friendly and nice. I had dinner at the restaurant and it was delish. Negatives? It is a bit pricy. If you are staying in the area and looking for a cheaper place to stay, try Great Barrington.
"A Most Pleasant Getaway!"

We had a wonderful stay at the Intelaken Inn! The hotel was clean and comfortable and the staff very friendly and welcoming. We rented a boat on EastTwin Lakes, went biking on the Harlem Valley Rail Trail, and walked around the town of Millerton NY. We also enjoyed walking the grounds of the Inn and sitting by the lake enjoying the view. The restaurant there was booked but we had a great meal at the Woodland. Next time we will try Morgan’s. I have already recommended your Inn to several friends and we plan to come back in the fall! Thank you for making our getaway so pleasant!
