"Nice and quiet getaway"
I stayed in the townhome section, so I can't speak for the hotel portion. The room was very clean, spacious and quite comfortable. The only issue I had was that there was a light on the back porch that I couldn't figure out how to turn off, but I slept well regardless. The restaurant was a pleasant surprise - all the food is prepared fresh with many […] local ingredients and unique pairings. In all, I had a great stay. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Priced for a captive audience but lovely nonethess"
Inn was fine. Staff were friendly and helpful. Arrived late and wanted room service. Menu in room was just a sample, had to call to get current menu. It was delivered quickly. Menu offerings were interesting and gourmet but the pricing was not too bad. Ordered the pumpkin gnocchi. It was excellent and was delivered in 15 mins. Had refrigerator and microwave […] in room which is always a bonus. Child left behind an iPad and headphones and hotel staff went out of their way to track us down after we had checked out to let us know. Super kudos for that! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Little choice in area"
A bit pricey for an overnight but there isn't much around! The room lacked proper lighting in my opinion and the room temp was tricky to balance. The in-house restaurant has good food albeit pricey and watch because they add 25% gratuitiy. THere is no place nearby to eat. Feels like a place you'd go stay a week at in the summer and enjoy like a resort. […] However the bedding and pillows and towels were fantastic and the staff was kind and helpful. "Over prices hotel"
This hotel has very average amenities. And at $180 per night it was seriously over priced. Breakfast options were also seriously limited. I also wonder how well the bed sheets were cleaned. There was a blood stain on my bed sheet. Uggghhh !!!Genuine Expedia guest review
"beautiful and comfortable"
I was in town for one night and wanted more privacy than a BnB. There are not many choices in the area and this was a bit pricey but i used my reward points and got a good deal. The hotel was above expectation - super friendly staff, good food with fast friendly room service, nice large tub that filled fast with good water pressure, the best towels […] i have used in a long time and good bed and pillows, large tv, a desk for my computer and a separate table for meals. Outside there were trees and though you can hear the road nearby it was still serene and i rested well. I would go back again with a sale. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Interlaken looks like a motel from the parking area. The reception area begins to dispel this notion and the rooms complete the process. The rooms were simple, comfortable and 'honest'. The reception area is tight and decorated in what can politely be described as an unattractive hue of brown. It is in dire need of lightening and modernizing. The restaurant, […] which boasts local product etc, was OK in spite of a lengthy inter-course wait although again the decor is weird - an eclectic mixture of old and new, traditional and modern. It smacked of having to deal with what was there before, but could do with a major overhaul in order to justify the prices. My 'grass-fed beef' steak was clothy and tasteless, but my kids enjoyed their organic chicken, hamburger and ham and cheese sandwich, respectively.....as I did! That aside, the staff were all very friendly and the hotel offers good value for money. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Pleasant country setting, easy to find/get to"
Parts of this hotel are original and slightly shabby looking on the outside, but inside our room was fine. Especially enjoyed the small covered porch outside our room. Bedding and pillows were comfortable and appropriate -- no overly heavy comforter type covering which we always remove. WiFi works well, but cell phone coverage is mostly unreliable. […] Needs 1 or 2 towel bars in bathroom, esp. if staying more than one night. No grab-bars available in tub/shower. Hotel personnel are helpful and pleasant. Lawns and grounds are landscaped nicely and very lovely. Rooms on front of the motel can be noisy since facing parking lot and a surprisingly busy road. Gourmet restaurant on site is a bit pricey. No microwave or fridge in our room (107) Only place to buy any gasoline or grocery-type supplies is in an excellent grocery store in towns about 5-6 miles away. We stayed here two nights, out hiking during the days, so these things would have been helpful. But this is country living, so expect adjustments from what you might expect in another motel location. Otherwise a fairly comfortable stay, but even with the reduced Expedia rates, you are paying more for location and ambience. Would recommend, with above mentioned caveats included. As usual, the Interlaken was sumptuous and comfortable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
It was pleasant but the check-in and check-out times were not great and the hotel was not very flexible. A big surprise considering the hotel was virtually empty.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel for families - Lots of activities!"
We enjoyed our stay very much. There are many activities for the family - basketball, tennis, swimming, badminton, golf, boating, etc. We found that the room was comfortable and the hotel was clean. I would visit again and would recommend this hotel to friends and family.Genuine Expedia guest review
"A bit moldy"
This hotel was fantastic last time I stayed here. I stayed in a different building that was away from the main building and newer than the main building. THAT room was great, but my recent visit to the main building was not as impressive. The room smelled moldy and was dark and a little bit dated. If you stay here, stay in the newer buildings!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Beautiful Wedding Venue"
The room was clean and beautifully decorated. There was a refrigerator and microwave as well as a coffee maker in the suite. We really enjoyed the hotel and the scenery in the area. We would definitely go back!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very Pricey for an out dated rundown hotel. Though we were upgraded due to construction. Complimentary breakfast was OK, typical continental fare.Probably much nicer when the gardens are in bloom. Nice wedding destination for a casual, smallish group (less than 100).Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Unhelpful front desk staff & scrimped on the rooms"
The best part of the hotel is their beach and the access to the kayaks and canoes, but for the price, this hotel was very disappointing. the professional front desk staff were the most unhelpful and unfriendly I have ever encountered at a hotel. The rooms were not very comfortable, in particular the beds were very small for two adults and you had pay […] more for a king size bed? Ridiculous. Lastly, there are outside lights everywhere creating extensive light noise making it very hard to sleep. Both my husband and I, and our friends had a very uncomfortable night. I would not stay at this hotel again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Fabulous Wedding venue"
07/09/14 Alan B Tolland, Massachusetts
Our daughter was married at the Interlaken Inn on June 28, 2014. Our family and friends stayed there as well. We had 123 guests and family at the wedding. The glorious weekend began with a rehearsal dinner, which was delicious. The wait staff was friendly and welcoming. At 8 PM we all gathered for a bonfire at the lake. This helped set the mood for the main event. On Saturday morning our hairdressers met us in the new spacious beautiful bridal suite, where 8 women were able to get ready. The ceremony at the lake, outdoor cocktail hour and tented reception were spectacular. We chose a buffet dinner and each dish was better than the last. Country Gardeners decorated the tent and wedding and did a superb job. Besides the bride and groom, the stars of this event were wedding coordinator Stephanie and head chef Brandon. They were present and attentive to every detail. They continually went out of their way to make everything perfect. The Interlaken Inn exceeded all of our dreams and made this one of the most special days of our lives.
"Beware of Weddings"

Lovely venue. Sadly, when we visited there was an outdoor wedding reception. Despite being told when we made the reservation, that the reception would end by 10, the loud and poorly performed music went beyond midnight. Sleep was at a premium. Certainly not what one anticipates when spending $300 per night.
"A most relaxing and enjoyable stay"
06/25/14 Virginia S
We have been returning to the Interlaken Inn for 15+ years. Why? The Inn is nice, clean and they have affordable packages. The staff is friendly and helpful. The food is fantastic. There are different buildings that can help reflect your stay. This time we were in the Sunnyside building. It is a Victorian home that has 1 pet friendly room with a King bed. Our bed was very comfortable. The room is nicely appointed and there is a mini fridge to keep dog food, soda etc. There is a nominal "pet fee" for your stay. This includes very comfy dog beds that our dog slept in immediately. We took a three night package and added some extra nights. The weather was great. The lake is beautiful and so relaxing to sit and read. We did our usual walks on the Harlem Valley Rail trail in Millerton. We visited Great Barrington, Salisbury, Sharon, Millbrook, Millerton. My husband played golf at the Hotchkiss school next door to the Inn. He practiced putting on the greens by the big lake. He played golf in Egremont CC nearby. The driving range in Millerton is good too. We went canoeing, swimming at the inn and there is tennis available. We were there for a week and were not bored, even after going up so often, we did new things. Often, it is up to you to enjoy your vacation, but The Interlaken makes it easy because they offer a lot and there are a lot of things to do nearby. It is a great location from the Metro NY area. I can not say enough nice things about the staff. From the moment we checked in we were welcomed by Liz. Every time you walked into the lobby, Winston, Liz, Alyssa, Judy, Amy or William said hello, asked how dinner, or breakfast was. They were always cordial and helpful. The housekeeping staff, Managed by Helen were nice and willing to provide whatever we needed. Kevin and Michelle B take such pride in the inn. They are wonderful people. It was nice to socialize with them at the "Intermingle" the inn offers on Wednesdays. The Inn holds an intermingle on Wednesdays to get to know the guests, staff and local business partners. It is a meet and greet of sorts. They offer cocktails, food samplings and nice company for an hour. This Intermingle was by the lake. It was perfect and the sample cocktail was yummy. A great job by Wes and Brandon for their creative talents for the pallet. And then there is Morgans and the breakfast during the week. Mon - Fri there is a free breakfast. Brenda greets the Inn guests with a smile. She is always trying to please the guests and she makes yummy omlettes. She has been a wonderful addition to the Interlaken staff. We asked for a special dish and Eric made sure it was perfect for us. They had a pork loin special that was amazing. The strip steak was as good, if not better, thank the NYC steak houses. There was a homemade gnocci that was out of this world. Lest you forget, desert offerings are great too. Again Morgans is 5 star cuisine and if you want something that is not on the menu, ask. If you have dietary restrictions, let them know before you arrive. They will make it happen for you. The Staff at Morgans is great, Eric, Brendon, Wes, William and Tom and Fernando were on while we visited. Incredible dinners each night! Lastly, we asked to see the newly done Penthouse Suite...WOW. It is out of a chic NYC Hotel. Beautifully appointed, rooftop Jacuzzi and fountain for relaxing and it is FABULOUS. I am planning on staying there without the dog..maybe for an anniversary! I think this place is great and I recommend it to everyone. If I did not like something I would write about it, but there is nothing negative to say. Loved it. Thank you Interlaken Inn!
"Reply to bad wedding review"
05/24/14 Liane M Millerton, New York
I am writing this to respond to the previous bad wedding review which was held last Saturday at Interlaken Inn. It was the wedding of my only daughter, which she said after, "was the wedding she always dreamed of. A prefect wedding." Every guest who attended basically agreed . "It was just beautiful from the setting , food, flowers, music , ceremony everything perfect' But at last we cannot please everyone. True it is a short walk to the lake, on a paved road where the ceremony was held. But it a guest feels the walk is to much they can drive or be driven to the sight, The appetizer which she didn't like was , crab salad on plantain, which was one of the many appetizers we picked for a long list was a favorite of mine. Again cant please everyone. True as any early Spring night it did get cooler. But those who found it uncomfortable could have went to the attached room off the tent. Again it was my daughters choice to leave the sides of the tent up. Noone left early because of the chill. And no one was unhappy except maybe one guest.... All in all my daughter was very happy with her wedding. And as already stated isn't that what a wedding is al about the bride? Not a guest who has a chip on her shoulder. Would I recommend this venue for a wedding. Absolutely, Stephanie was the best wedding planner. The entire staff at Interlaken went out of their way to make this the most beautiful wedding for my daughter. I thank each and everyone for a beautiful day.
"Not a good wedding venue"
05/19/14 pmg14 Pine Plains, New York
I recently attended a wedding at this venue. Unfortunately, I can't say I recommend it. The ceremony took place on the lake across the street. It's a bit of a walk to the lake, but once you arrive, it's lovely. After the ceremony, the cocktail hour started out ok, though some of the appetizers were a little strange (dried banana topped with crab salad?) Next we were directed to the reception tent. Here's where the problems started. The sides were completely off on 2 lengths of the tent, mid May. As the sun dropped behind the trees, so did the temperature. It went from about 75 degrees during the day to about 55 rather quickly. Most women were not prepared for the serious drop in temperature. I asked politely (the server at first, then after about an hour the floor manager) if they could please put sides on the tent (no heaters also) I was told that brides/grooms are required to "make a call" at the beginning of the day "sides on or sides off", and that they will not alter or adjust based on weather. I happen to be a wedding planner and have 20 years of experience watching caterers take sides on and off as necessary. Here, I was told it was too difficult, required ladders, tents sides were in storage, not possible....REALLY? I felt particularly bad for the old folks, who left very early. People went to their cars for winter coats. Guests were not happy. It's a shame. They clearly do not understand the wedding market, or their responsibility to their client.

As the warm weather arrived and the driving season started, I once again spent 2 nights at the Interlaken, to attend a Porsche event at Lime Rock Park. The hotel is very close to the track and quite convenient. The staff was once again friendly and on top of things. The room was comfortable and clean. The complimentary breakfast is available very early, which includes made to order eggs or omelets. I had a chance to meet the managerial staff at a meet and greet cocktail hour and chatted with them for quite some time. They are not only very friendly, but very concerned about the guest's experience at the hotel. If you are going to the area, this is the place to stay. Thanks Michelle for always making my stay enjoyable.
"Another Fantastic Visit"
I first stayed at Interlaken one year ago and gave it an excellent rating. Another stay this year it receives the same high marks. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and inviting. The newly redone bathroom showers are now my favorite type of walk-in shower. The staff exceptionally friendly and accommodating. No request goes unnoticed. Each request is met with a smile. Morgan's Restaurant is 5-stars. The food beautifully seasoned and presented. Delicious and a warm atmosphere. Don't stay anyplace else if you are in the area! I will be a repeat customer.
"Tranquil Oasis in Litchfield Hills; a Bit Overpriced"
04/21/14 NYTravelerBD White Plains, New York
My wife and I very much liked our 1 night stay at the Interlaken. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, Morgan's restaurant is phenomenal, and my wife got an excellent massage from the on-site Ellora spa. We paid $199/night on hotels.com and despite that being a relatively low rate for the Interlaken, I still feel like that is a bit much. This is not a fancy, elite looking property, and has more rustic charm than any "wow factor." I'd definitely recommend it overall, but I can see why those paying higher rates in the summer could be a bit underwhelmed.
"Year after Year, they never disappoint!"
03/06/14 pbfoot845 Hyde Park, New York
The staff at the Interlaken are phenomenal. I have been coming to this hotel for almost 10 years. Every year the food is wonderful, the staff is helpful, the rooms are clean and the atmosphere is hospitable. I spend 3 days and 2 nights here every year, along with a group of up to 40 women, yet the staff makes me feel like I am the only one they are worried about pleasing. It is usually booked to capacity with other events but they want to make sure each and every customer is enjoying their stay. I can't wait to go back next year.
"Most hospitable accommodation I've ever stayed at!"
03/04/14 Melaine R Poughkeepsie, New York
A large group of us have been traveling to the Interlaken for a scrapbooking weekend for at least the last 8 years and always have a great time. Everyone is always so friendly and there are faces we recognize year after year (a good sign that a business can retain its quality staff!) This year though, they went above and beyond in the hospitality department. They were so accommodating - anything we needed or wanted but beyond that, they anticipated our needs and even spoiled us with some sweet treats for National Peanut Butter Day! Can't wait to go back next year!! I highly recommend the Interlaken for a group event or even a romantic getaway.
