"Close, no cigar"
I have stayed here many, many times and generally really like it. My room was very nice, clean and well equipped. It would be nice to have more outlets for power. My only issue this visit was the A/C in the room would run for 2minutes and shut off. After an "engineer" came to the room it was pronounced dead and they kindly put us in another room that […] was great. The Dinner service was as good as ever although the portions are fashionably puny. Very imaginative dinner menu. Breakfast there is like at a Holiday Inn Express. No imagination, nothing original, plain ingredients. Too bad the dinner chef did'nt plan the breakfast menu. I will stay again but just not EAT there. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice and quiet getaway"
I stayed in the townhome section, so I can't speak for the hotel portion. The room was very clean, spacious and quite comfortable. The only issue I had was that there was a light on the back porch that I couldn't figure out how to turn off, but I slept well regardless. The restaurant was a pleasant surprise - all the food is prepared fresh with many […] local ingredients and unique pairings. In all, I had a great stay. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Priced for a captive audience but lovely nonethess"
Inn was fine. Staff were friendly and helpful. Arrived late and wanted room service. Menu in room was just a sample, had to call to get current menu. It was delivered quickly. Menu offerings were interesting and gourmet but the pricing was not too bad. Ordered the pumpkin gnocchi. It was excellent and was delivered in 15 mins. Had refrigerator and microwave […] in room which is always a bonus. Child left behind an iPad and headphones and hotel staff went out of their way to track us down after we had checked out to let us know. Super kudos for that! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Little choice in area"
A bit pricey for an overnight but there isn't much around! The room lacked proper lighting in my opinion and the room temp was tricky to balance. The in-house restaurant has good food albeit pricey and watch because they add 25% gratuitiy. THere is no place nearby to eat. Feels like a place you'd go stay a week at in the summer and enjoy like a resort. […] However the bedding and pillows and towels were fantastic and the staff was kind and helpful. "Over prices hotel"
This hotel has very average amenities. And at $180 per night it was seriously over priced. Breakfast options were also seriously limited. I also wonder how well the bed sheets were cleaned. There was a blood stain on my bed sheet. Uggghhh !!!Genuine Expedia guest review
"beautiful and comfortable"
I was in town for one night and wanted more privacy than a BnB. There are not many choices in the area and this was a bit pricey but i used my reward points and got a good deal. The hotel was above expectation - super friendly staff, good food with fast friendly room service, nice large tub that filled fast with good water pressure, the best towels […] i have used in a long time and good bed and pillows, large tv, a desk for my computer and a separate table for meals. Outside there were trees and though you can hear the road nearby it was still serene and i rested well. I would go back again with a sale. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Interlaken looks like a motel from the parking area. The reception area begins to dispel this notion and the rooms complete the process. The rooms were simple, comfortable and 'honest'. The reception area is tight and decorated in what can politely be described as an unattractive hue of brown. It is in dire need of lightening and modernizing. The restaurant, […] which boasts local product etc, was OK in spite of a lengthy inter-course wait although again the decor is weird - an eclectic mixture of old and new, traditional and modern. It smacked of having to deal with what was there before, but could do with a major overhaul in order to justify the prices. My 'grass-fed beef' steak was clothy and tasteless, but my kids enjoyed their organic chicken, hamburger and ham and cheese sandwich, respectively.....as I did! That aside, the staff were all very friendly and the hotel offers good value for money. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Pleasant country setting, easy to find/get to"
Parts of this hotel are original and slightly shabby looking on the outside, but inside our room was fine. Especially enjoyed the small covered porch outside our room. Bedding and pillows were comfortable and appropriate -- no overly heavy comforter type covering which we always remove. WiFi works well, but cell phone coverage is mostly unreliable. […] Needs 1 or 2 towel bars in bathroom, esp. if staying more than one night. No grab-bars available in tub/shower. Hotel personnel are helpful and pleasant. Lawns and grounds are landscaped nicely and very lovely. Rooms on front of the motel can be noisy since facing parking lot and a surprisingly busy road. Gourmet restaurant on site is a bit pricey. No microwave or fridge in our room (107) Only place to buy any gasoline or grocery-type supplies is in an excellent grocery store in towns about 5-6 miles away. We stayed here two nights, out hiking during the days, so these things would have been helpful. But this is country living, so expect adjustments from what you might expect in another motel location. Otherwise a fairly comfortable stay, but even with the reduced Expedia rates, you are paying more for location and ambience. Would recommend, with above mentioned caveats included. "High quality resort"
As usual, the Interlaken was sumptuous and comfortable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
It was pleasant but the check-in and check-out times were not great and the hotel was not very flexible. A big surprise considering the hotel was virtually empty.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel for families - Lots of activities!"
We enjoyed our stay very much. There are many activities for the family - basketball, tennis, swimming, badminton, golf, boating, etc. We found that the room was comfortable and the hotel was clean. I would visit again and would recommend this hotel to friends and family.Genuine Expedia guest review
"A bit moldy"
This hotel was fantastic last time I stayed here. I stayed in a different building that was away from the main building and newer than the main building. THAT room was great, but my recent visit to the main building was not as impressive. The room smelled moldy and was dark and a little bit dated. If you stay here, stay in the newer buildings!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Beautiful Wedding Venue"
The room was clean and beautifully decorated. There was a refrigerator and microwave as well as a coffee maker in the suite. We really enjoyed the hotel and the scenery in the area. We would definitely go back!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very Pricey for an out dated rundown hotel. Though we were upgraded due to construction. Complimentary breakfast was OK, typical continental fare.Probably much nicer when the gardens are in bloom. Nice wedding destination for a casual, smallish group (less than 100).Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Unhelpful front desk staff & scrimped on the rooms"
The best part of the hotel is their beach and the access to the kayaks and canoes, but for the price, this hotel was very disappointing. the professional front desk staff were the most unhelpful and unfriendly I have ever encountered at a hotel. The rooms were not very comfortable, in particular the beds were very small for two adults and you had pay […] more for a king size bed? Ridiculous. Lastly, there are outside lights everywhere creating extensive light noise making it very hard to sleep. Both my husband and I, and our friends had a very uncomfortable night. I would not stay at this hotel again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice hotel close to schools"
We came across the most friendly staff at interlaken inn during our road trip. Their positive attitudes infused the stay with such happy memories that our children are keen to stay at the inn again. The restaurant Morgan's within the inn serves excellent food, and it's especially important for me that the food is sourced locally, thereby supporting […] local farmers and reducing global carbon footprint. "nice place, but a bit pricey"
09/17/14 xraysta Tinton Falls, NJ
We recently stayed here, as part of a wedding. The rooms were very nice and we loved the screened in porch. However, we opted for the breakfast buffett and we could have saved money by choosing the continental breakfast. They have better breakfast selections and higher quality food at Hampton Inns (where it's included in the price of the stay). It was too cold to take advantage of the amenities on the grounds of the resort, but we would consider returning when the weather is warmer. The beds were extremely comfortable and the room was nice, but we heard every noise in the hallway.
"What a wonderful 3-generation inn!"
09/06/14 bogart08 new york
Our 3-generation family enjoyed a wonderful getaway weekend in August at the Interlaken Inn. We were especially impressed by Morgan's Restaurant, the lakefront swimming, boating and lounging facilities, and the generous, thoughtful assistance of the events manager, Michelle Bousquet. Michelle welcomed the nine of us as if we were an entire wedding. She was available throughout our stay to facilitate and improve our experience. ! The countryside and lakes are beautiful. In addition to Morgan's Restaurant, which is world class, there are several excellent restaurants within a few miles. Lakeville and Salisbury are charming little towns. We also used The Interlaken's swimming pol, tennis courts and games room. We were delighted to play at the Hotchkiss School's golf course, which is next-door to the inn.
"3 star hotel at a 4 star price"
09/05/14 Marcus W Ansonia, Connecticut
I paid $300 and change for a double queen and I've stayed in nicer Holiday Inns. Decent room with a nice bathroom but the hotel in general is dated. You feel like you're walking into the home of the Brady Bunch. I paid $300 and change for a double queen and I've stayed in nicer Holiday Inns to be honest. I love kids but the pool was mayhem so we just turned around and went back to our room. This hotel is right down the road from Lime Rock Park which is the best thing about it.
"Just about everything one could ask for"
09/04/14 Thomas O
We had a nice visit and will be returning because you will have a gorgeous, underutilized lake next to less than dense zoning, grand shops in four gazillion directions, the Lime Rock track, and amazing restaurants all excelling an area that has a lake. The inn is not hard to find, is very picturesque, and has a screened in sitting room to keep out the nasty crappy gnats that swarm all of New England practically. Now, the one circle missing its green dot is due to very specific requests not being followed, and later changed to represent a misunderstanding on our part, but when you travel as much as we do and have done over the years, you are prepared for weird confusing issues that can arise from someone not wanting to fully explain truthfully that someone dropped the ball and did not want to take responsibility for it, so covered it up,much like a grade school student thinking they can change an F grade to an A, and the principal won't notice. The day time clerks at the front desk must have very strong job security, and need to be replaced, in my opinion with the very efficient, courteous ,honest clerks of the early evening late shift. We feel that the inn is so close to being a five green circle, otherwise. Thank you for reading what might seem to be written by a person who is a brat, but the resistance to resolving the problem was indeed minimal( solved by the evening clerks) and exasperated by the daytime desk clerks. The security at the facility is more than phenomenal-- my family felt in very good hands.
"Lovely long weekend getaway"
09/01/14 DARK622007 Eastchester, NY
My husband and I were looking for an alternative vacation from the Jersey shore. We wanted to go someplace within 2 hours of home and was in the opposite direction of beach traffic. And, we wanted to be able to play tennis. The Interlaken Inn checked all of these boxes. We stayed in the Sunnyside building which we found to be nice and clean (though my husband wished it was more "luxurious"). The room was a good size, but found that the drawer space and bathroom countertop space was limited and so I felt a bit disorganized with our stuff scattered about the room on various small antiques. (But we managed without having to live out of our suitcases for 5 days.) It is very quiet and peaceful on the grounds at night. The tennis courts are in good shape and we were able to easily book time to play every morning. (Seems that the courts get used mostly in the afternoons by other guests.) The lake is also a really nice place to relax- especially when the pool area gets busy and kids decide they are going to play basketball on the pool deck! (There should really be a posted rule about only pool toys allowed in the pool area!) There is lots to do nearby- plenty of hiking trails, wineries, little towns for antique shopping, etc. We did not run out of things to do in the area. The staff at the inn was friendly and helpful. I would go back again for a quick getaway.

Stayed here when visiting Lime Rock . A little run down in places , and breakfast a bit uninspiring but a warm place with great beds and nice rooms near the lakes in the middle of a beautiful area . Didn't get a chance to use the pool , but went to the lake which felt very peaceful Would go back
"Simply Stupendous Staff"
This particular area of CT is quite beautiful, and so many options of hotels to stay at, I can help make your difficult decision making process easy. The Interlaken Inn has the most helpful staff I have ever encountered. From the managers to the servers. Absolutely anything that a guest could want, they will try to accommodate for.
"Great Family Experience"

Our stay at Interlaken was perfect!! The staff was amazing, always a smile and pleasantry. The Hotel and grounds were spotless. Plenty of activities including: tennis, swimming, canoes, kayaks, fishing, hiking or a lakeside fire pit to re-kindle your family. The continental breakfast was a perfect start to each wonderful day..
"charming rustic getaway"
08/22/14 Kathleen E Franklin Square, New York
We just returned from a 2 night last minute getaway at the Interlaken. It was totally relaxing, the room was very nice (although we stayed in the sunnyside and it was a lot of steps), loved the relaxing porch for reading. Every employee that we came across was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great, nice selection and omelet station. Our getaway included a trip to Millbrook vineyard, where we had a nice tour and great tasting experience. Dinner at Morgans was delicious. My only complaint is that there really was nothing to do at night but they did offer free movie dvds at the front desk and we took advantage of the time to read and watch a movie. I would definitely return it must be beautiful in the fall
