"Terrible, a complete rip off."

Stayed here during an exhibition, room price € 252,50. This a complete rip off. Rooms are worth € 40 per night. Breakfast is very, very, very basic. Rooms are old and not well maintained. Rooms are quite clean. If you look at the hotel website everything is new and clean. In reality....... worn out and old. First you have to walk 5 stairs before entering your room!!!!!!!!! Dirty old stairs, with strange people hanging around. NO ELEVATOR.

Having read some of the reviews...I was a little concerned heading to my stay here. What can I say, other than clean, bright and understated. Bed was firm, bathroom spacious but there was quite a step up to get into the shower Room was made up each day, staff that I interacted with were polite and efficient. Breakfast was not what I am used to but that is half the fun of travelling. Wifi was at best slow and tea/coffee would have been nice to have in the room. Aircon would certainly have useful, but would happily return again sometime.
"Upper room good location"

Hotel a bit scruffy in places, but room was clean and breakfast plentiful. Really good location near railway and underground. We had room 14 which had just had a refurb. It was a large room the only negative was I think there should be a safe in each room.
"A good hotel in the center of Berlin"

A perfect hotel if you want to stay in the middle of Berlin city near Kurfürstendamm for a good price. Simple rooms with no luxury but clean and tidy with comfortable beds and clean bathrooms. At breakfast there was everything that was wanted and then some, you could more than enough to eat. The staff were pleasant and friendly. Certainly a hotel I would recommend if you go to Berlin.
"Inexpensive, good location but rather cramped"

Other reviews cover the accessibility/stairs issues so I won't repeat them; fortunately our family are fairly agile and fit! Our 4-bed room was very cramped and décor looked tired. Did have tea/coffee facilities though. We were told that NO rooms have aircon. Bathroom was large and very clean but sadly only a hand-held shower head over the bath. Breakfast room was FAR too cramped (some people waiting for seats) and poor staff struggling to keep the buffet replenished. Seemed like the hotel has acquired extra rooms on various floors but doesn't have enough space to accommodate everyone to eat. That said, the food/beverages were actually pretty good and included in the price. The 'bar' was never used and just had cardboard boxes stacked there. Location is really great for shopping, sightseeing and getting around; this would be the only real reason for recommending this hotel, although the free Wi-Fi (fairly good speed) was also most welcome. If arriving by car, on-street parking slots are hard to find but go 50 metres to the Karstadt car park for €12 per day.
"On the Up"

Visited the hotel with Friends on a Stag Doo. Reception on the 4th Floor of the building by means of a lift.. My room did not have aircon (stifling) although others in the party did. It seems to be under refurbishment. Its in a great location just of the Ku-Damm near UBahn & SBahn Stations, shops and bars etc: Breakfast was continental style, but did have scrambled eggs and sausage, need that after night out on the tiles. If you do go, insist on room with aircon as this time of year temperature and humidity is high. would be a problem with peolple with mobility problems.
"Not in summer"

First the good points. Location is good. Mostly staff were nice. Breakfast was very good. I almost regret writing the rest as it is probably fine most of the year. But our room was awful. If we had not paid in advance we would not have stayed. It was stinking hot. The AC did not cool the room. Big windows faced up into the western sun. The room was uninhabitable for 8hrs of the day and pretty uncomfortable the rest of the time. The fridge didn't work so we couldn't even rely on having a cold drink in the room. If staff had cared or apologised it might have helped (apologies to the one fellow who did try to help).
"Reasonable, good location, dorm type rooms"

Nice location. Difficult to bring up heavy baggage. It is a very steep staircase to climb till you get to the elevator. Entrance to hotel looks old & worn out. More stairs to climb to get to lobby. Spiral staircase to rooms so you will need help with large or heavy baggage. A/C did not work properly room was very warm. Dorm style clean & efficient. Cannot complain right price. Breakfast included was very good with a nice variety of things. However small tight spaced breakfast room, seating not always available.

First time in this hotel next to kurfurstendam in Berlin..close to Metro and to railway zoologischer garden station.next to the Shops and close to whatever you want to eat and drink.the stuff is excellent and helpful and the breakfast was good .It is an old building of course .which has been renovated in 3rd and 4th floor to be a hotel.for a 3 day stay was all ok.

Currently only 3 hours in the hotel. And it is enough to regret my decision to make a booking here. Here is my experience.. There is no phone in the room to call up the reception.. So every time u need some thing u need to take a trip downstairs.. I came into to the room and find out that the AC does not work.. So I go downstairs tell the receptionist he says I will send the technician in a few mins... So here I am after 6 hours of journey. In a hot room. So 1.5 hour later I go to the reception again saying that there is no AC and no technician.. And I got an awesome answer.. Sir I have called the technician .. I am not the technician... Then another guy at the reception called the technician again.. And 2 hours later after check in The technician came fixed it and vola I have Ac .. 5 mins later Ac turns off again. I walk down again. Tell him again the Ac does not work. I asked for a room change. But apparently they don't have one left. Even though booking.com shows one available. The technician has fixed it again. Let c how this amazing experience turns out..
