"Nice hotel in pleasant grounds"
Nice hotel, good clean rooms. The only let down was the restaurant. We were the only two in it to start with. Were at our table at 18.30 and didn't get anything to eat until 19.30. Both fish dishes were a little over cooked and very salty. I ordered two glasses of wine, both of which I had to send back as they smelt and tasted stale. The youngsters […] serving the wine obviously did not know there wine at all and should not have served it up as you could tell it wasn't right just by the smell. The very pleasant young lady serving us completely forgot us twice. Once for the menu, the second time I had to find her to remind her that we had asked for the desert menu 20 mins ago. The breakfast was excellent each morning with good service. Overall I would say that we had poor service from very nice people. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Quiet getaway hotel near Heacham"
This is a relatively small hotel with recently added bedrooms and beauty treatment rooms. The original hotel building where reception the bar restaurant and lounge are located is a handsome old stone and tile construction. Interior decor is a bit staid but smart. Staff are helpful and efficient. Breakfast is a bit limited but offers a good an array […] of cooked options and continental style buffet. Bedrooms are clean tidy and simply furnished with no wifi but lan ports. Wifi is available in the lounge bar etc. The treatment suite is reasonably priced. Heacham and Hunstanton are about a 20 minute walk away. The hotel is well worth considering for a reasonably priced golfing or quiet getaway. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
We stayed in The Manor Suite which was spacious and light. The 4poster bed had a terrible mattress which was made worse with a ill fitting topper. Carpet was badly fitted and in need of stretching to remove the bagging. The wash basin tap was a disaster, it only cleared the edge by millimeters and to make matters worse diverted the water inwards so […] the water went down the overflow at the back. The shower/ bath mixer had no instructions and it took ages to figure out the diverter is on the end of the filler. We decided to eat in the restaurant for our evening meal. Whilst I has asking the receptionist for more tea bags and milk (the hotel uses thermos flasks) my wife walked into the dining area and sat at one of the tables. There were over 15 tables and only 1 other diner. I walked over to the table where upon a young waitress came over and in a very angry tone started to tell us off for not waiting at the sign in the hallway. She then told us that we had to get up and walk all the way back out and stand by the sign. I told my wife not to go as it was stupid to walk all the way out only then to walk all the way back so that the waitress could see which table we had been allocated to. Why couldn't we just remain at our table the waitress just change the table numbers I've no idea but perhaps customer service is not a priority. It left my wife feeling rather embarrassed by the whole experience and spoilt what had been a lovely break. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Fantastic hotel, i will definitely use again."
What a lovely clean hotel with excellent staff and service. The restaurant is fantastic with a great choice from the evening menu, breakfast menu is very good. I would love to know the make of the mattress as it was so comfortable. Hotel and rooms are spotlessly clean.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Large, comfortable if old-fashioned room. Large clean bathroom but toilet squashed in so tightly that you have to sit sideways! Service relentlessly chirpy and professional but impersonal. Food pleasant - like a home-cooked meal. Constant piped music in dining room very annoying. Hotel fine for one night but would not have wished to pay full price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
A very peaceful and pleasant location. Friendly and efficient staff.Would benefit from in room wi fi.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
good room , imaginative foodGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We stayed for three nights and had dinner in the restaurant on two nights. Our room (four poster) was quite large and was well furnished and very clean. The food (breakfast and dinner) was excellent and the staff were all very pleasant and helpful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very nice stay, only problem we had was a lack of fridge in the room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Wonderful hotel, welcoming staff and excellent service. The Room was lovely and clean and extremely comfortable, with home made cookies provided everyday. Unfortunately the cooked breakfast was disappointing and did not taste very nice, but the rest was very good. Breakfast made up for by the rest of the hotel. Would definitely stay again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very nice overall, food was great, nice setting. Only problem for me was that we had a standard room in the new block which was in the roof line of the building. The roof rooms get very hot and remain hot into the night. Other than that would highly recommendGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient for visit to Sandringham"
We were dissapointed that we were allocated a room in adjacent cottage complex, and not in main hotel. We had to carry our bags for 50/60 yards and then negotiate a narrow steep 180 degree turn stair. Not easy for 70 and 76 year olds carrying bags. No one offered to carry our bags. The room was pleasant enough, but we think that only one chair in a […] double room is not enough. On check-in we ordered a newspaper for the following morning. We did not receive it, and on enquiry, were told that it had been put on order fot the wrong day. The restaurant, and the serving staff there were very good for breakfast.. We feel that we should have been informed about the room situation when booking. We would have had second thoughts. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We went for a night away with friends to celebrate a birthday. Lovely, small hotel, beautiful grounds, friendly staff, rooms small but very comfortable. The four poster room was lovely. Food in restaurant at dinner was nice, but not great. Breakfast was very good. Overall a lovely stay but probably a little overpriced .Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Declined since last vist"

We visited Heacham Manor after visiting two years ago .The hotel remains clean and staff very helpful.Unfortunately the quality of the food has declined and was not up the standard we experienced previously .When booked we were asked if we minded eating at 8.30 as they had a large booking earlier in the evening .What they neglected to mention was that we would be sitting outside the conservatory as we began our starter the waiting staff prepared the breakfast tables around us ,this made us feel uncomfortable. We had visited the hotel to celebrate our wedding anniversary our experience was made unenjoyable as waiting staff worked around us . I have read previous comments on this website with similar feedback.Heacham Manor please take note your hotel is not cheap customers expect and deserve better
"Fantastic Place To Stay"

We stayed in the main manor house in Room 4, a delightful room which extended above the main entrance. The room was spacious and very comfortable with a great en suite with a choice of both a bath and a shower. In the evening we ate in the dining room (not the conservatory); this was a very pleasant room and the meal was lovely; I selected from specials menu (home made vegetable soup followed by wild mushroom risotto) and my husband from the main menu (scallops followed by Roast Duck). For breakfast we were in the much larger conservatory and again the choices and the food itself was very good. The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout and we would wholeheartedly recommend Heacham Manor as a place to stay.

My wife and I have stayed at Heacham Manor on several occasions including two Christmas packages. We have been completely happy with those stays and have recommended it to several friends who have also stayed there. Sadly, however our most recent 4 day package was not all that we had anticipated to the extent that we decided to vacate our room on the night preceding the termination of our stay for reasons which are set out below. The Dining Room. On arrival I was specifically asked by reception whether we intended to dine in the restaurant for each night of our stay. I said yes to this as it was important to us and expected that we would be seated in the conservatory dining room. However, on our last night we were informed that we had not been booked in as a result of which we were stuck in a corner in the ante-room. We were told that the main dining room was fully booked so, in effect, it was a take it or leave it situation. Our view is that this was an oversight by the hotel (not us) and they ought to have steps to remedy the situation. On 2 mornings for breakfast we were again ushered to the ante- room. On departure when we mentioned this to reception we were told it was one of those things that had to be accepted. This is curious when the conservatory dining room is emphasised as a selling point in promotional terms and has been instrumental in persuading us to make repeat visits. Golf .On our reservation confirmation form it specifically stated that special terms were available to hotel guests. On enquiry both in the golf shop and at reception I was advised that the only concessions available were those shown in the basic price list. Therefore, on the two occasions that I played I paid the full fee. Drinks. On one occasion in the bar we were charged for drinks on our restaurant invoice that had already been paid in cash beforehand. This sort of mistake can happen but in the event the drinks shown on the bill were not even the same as those for which we had paid. Food. We feel that the meals provided were more down to a price than up to the very high previous standards which have sadly slipped away. General presentation – over the 4 day stay - which has always been excellent left a lot to be desired. Examples included scrambled eggs at breakfast running with water. sirloin steaks (cooked to order but cold) with no garnish and what looked like McCain packaged chips and half a tomato (the sort of offering you would get in a roadside transport cafe). pork belly comprising 4 small cubes a few rocket leaves and apple sauce with the menu quoted noodles missing. The specials menu was, rather surprisingly, basically unchanged for the 4 days which has not been the case previously. When we explained to reception that we had decided to leave early as we were not comfortable with the situation no attempt was made to summon the manager, assuming there was one on duty at that time. The lady on reception was not unpleasant but, at the same time, she was not proactive and did not seem particularly interested in what we had to say. Coffee. This is only a very small comment but underlines our feeling that things have drifted. Coffee was always served with a small plate of petits-fours. A small, but special treat that has now vanished. In conclusion, we were intending to re-book for Christmas but consider this now to be most unlikely.

Stayed here for a family celebration in June 2014. The room was lovely, the staff extremely friendly and helpful and the food was excellent. Very nice location close to the beach and lots of scenic walks nearby. Definitely recommended.

We stayed for a short break in June. The Hotel is set in lovely grounds and adjacent to the golf course. Our room was not in the main hotel but just a minutes walk away. The room was large and well equipped. Home made biscuits and real milk! Large very comfortable bed. Unfortunately, the room was very hot at night - maybe a lighter cover for the summer would help, Large bathroom with a good shower over the bath. We could not get wifi in the room but it was available in the hotel. The restaurant was very good, both dinner and breakfast although would have liked a larger selection of fresh fruit, Staff were very attentive helpful and efficient. Enjoyed a relaxing stay in a lovely hotel and well looked after by the staff. This was our 3rd visit and hope to go again

Very pleasant 2 night stay. Staff were very pleasant and service was good. Accommodation was good, clean room, beds, bathrooms. Meals were good, and liked the fact that breakfast was cooked to order. The only thing was the paths got very messy when it rained and our cases got dirty pulling them from hotel to accommodation block.
"Wonderful hotel for disabled guest"

We stayed at Heacham Manor whilst visiting my mum's relatives. Mum is 91 and has severe mobility issues. The room adapted for the disabled guest was fantastic. Plenty of room for wheelchair access and my mum's Rotastand. The bathroom was perfect. French doors lead out to a little patio with level access and a fantastic view looking over the golf course. A well designed room. Staff were friendly , polite and efficient.
"Quiet and comfortable"

Situated just outside Hunstanton , this is a very nice quiet comfortable hotel. The entrance and grounds were very attractive. The standard rooms were situated in , a stable block across a courtyard from the main house, which was no hardship. The rooms were large, comfortable, and spotless. Beds were comfortable, my only complaint , was the lighting in the bathroom was poor. The bathroom was equipped with a shower cubicle and a bath. Fresh homemade biscuits were left everyday which was an nice touch The cooked part of the breakfast was excellent, the cold buffet was a trifle sparse and badly located , with a bit of thought and organisation this could be easily remedied. Restaurant was not tested, did look a trifle expensive. The staff were young helpful and friendly. I would recommend it for a stay giving easy access to Hunstanton and the surrounding attractions.
"Ok but wouldn't return...."

On arrival the hotel is a beautfil building set in lovely grounds. The room itself and the bathroom were clean and tidy but very small. When booking I chose the standard rooms as they were adverstised with a bath but this was not the case and only had a shower. The room we stayed in was in the roof of a converted barn and was unbearably hot. There is a fan in the the room but this just pushes hot air around and an aircon unit is desperately needed. The heat of the room meant we had to rush out the following morning as we just couldn't bear to be in there any longer. Breakfast was nice, however we were not offered any toast even though the menu showed it and when we asked for cold water to top up hot coffee the waitress came back after a few minutes and directed us to the buffet table to get it ourselvses... Not brilliant service. This could be a stunning hotel but in my opinion is reminiscent of a Travel Lodge, just much more expensive.

Had a lovely weekend staying here. Room was a standard room but was very clean , clean bathroom, and huge double bed. Looked out over the golf course and dont play golf but was tempted as looks a nice course. Did not eat in at the hotel apart from breakfast which was great service and well presented in the conservatory, the only fault I could find was that when asked if I wanted any sauces with my full Norfolk breakfast and of course asked for brown sauce was told they did not have any. I could not believe it . While sat having breakfast which took about 45 mins the people coming in as we left were told the same. Would have thought they would have sent someone to the local shop for a couple of bottles . Picky I know but for a well run place like this was someone's serious oversight. Would still go back as was a great weekend with lots to do around great service by reception and nice and clean. Mark
