"One night away"
Stayed for our honeymoon for one night at the hotel. Positives - staff very friendly, breakfast was excellent, very nice setting. Negatives - nothing major, decor slightly dated and evening meal times we were offered were unsuitable for children... which was a real shame as we were really looking forward to eating there.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Friendly staff, great location and lovely beds"
Friendly and polite local staff, accepted last room which was "accessible" - meaning disabled-style bathroom with no bath (wet room style). Bonus to that was very large room, with small sunny patio and French doors overlooking lawn and golf course!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"good but expensive for what it is"
Nice hotel, and lovely location and grounds. Good breakfast but expensive in comparision to other hotels. Advertised wifi does not exist in the bedrooms despite they saying it is providedGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Lovely building and surroundings. Our room was very comfortable especially the beds. We enjoyed our dinner (made me think of "master chef") and the breakfast was excellent. The dining room staff were excellent and couldn't have been more helpful. Slight question mark on reception as I needed to wait until a private phone call was completed before I […] was acknowledged, and that was by another receptionist who helped me in the end. "Nice hotel in pleasant grounds"
Nice hotel, good clean rooms. The only let down was the restaurant. We were the only two in it to start with. Were at our table at 18.30 and didn't get anything to eat until 19.30. Both fish dishes were a little over cooked and very salty. I ordered two glasses of wine, both of which I had to send back as they smelt and tasted stale. The youngsters […] serving the wine obviously did not know there wine at all and should not have served it up as you could tell it wasn't right just by the smell. The very pleasant young lady serving us completely forgot us twice. Once for the menu, the second time I had to find her to remind her that we had asked for the desert menu 20 mins ago. The breakfast was excellent each morning with good service. Overall I would say that we had poor service from very nice people. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Quiet getaway hotel near Heacham"
This is a relatively small hotel with recently added bedrooms and beauty treatment rooms. The original hotel building where reception the bar restaurant and lounge are located is a handsome old stone and tile construction. Interior decor is a bit staid but smart. Staff are helpful and efficient. Breakfast is a bit limited but offers a good an array […] of cooked options and continental style buffet. Bedrooms are clean tidy and simply furnished with no wifi but lan ports. Wifi is available in the lounge bar etc. The treatment suite is reasonably priced. Heacham and Hunstanton are about a 20 minute walk away. The hotel is well worth considering for a reasonably priced golfing or quiet getaway. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
We stayed in The Manor Suite which was spacious and light. The 4poster bed had a terrible mattress which was made worse with a ill fitting topper. Carpet was badly fitted and in need of stretching to remove the bagging. The wash basin tap was a disaster, it only cleared the edge by millimeters and to make matters worse diverted the water inwards so […] the water went down the overflow at the back. The shower/ bath mixer had no instructions and it took ages to figure out the diverter is on the end of the filler. We decided to eat in the restaurant for our evening meal. Whilst I has asking the receptionist for more tea bags and milk (the hotel uses thermos flasks) my wife walked into the dining area and sat at one of the tables. There were over 15 tables and only 1 other diner. I walked over to the table where upon a young waitress came over and in a very angry tone started to tell us off for not waiting at the sign in the hallway. She then told us that we had to get up and walk all the way back out and stand by the sign. I told my wife not to go as it was stupid to walk all the way out only then to walk all the way back so that the waitress could see which table we had been allocated to. Why couldn't we just remain at our table the waitress just change the table numbers I've no idea but perhaps customer service is not a priority. It left my wife feeling rather embarrassed by the whole experience and spoilt what had been a lovely break. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Fantastic hotel, i will definitely use again."
What a lovely clean hotel with excellent staff and service. The restaurant is fantastic with a great choice from the evening menu, breakfast menu is very good. I would love to know the make of the mattress as it was so comfortable. Hotel and rooms are spotlessly clean.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Large, comfortable if old-fashioned room. Large clean bathroom but toilet squashed in so tightly that you have to sit sideways! Service relentlessly chirpy and professional but impersonal. Food pleasant - like a home-cooked meal. Constant piped music in dining room very annoying. Hotel fine for one night but would not have wished to pay full price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
A very peaceful and pleasant location. Friendly and efficient staff.Would benefit from in room wi fi.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
good room , imaginative foodGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We stayed for three nights and had dinner in the restaurant on two nights. Our room (four poster) was quite large and was well furnished and very clean. The food (breakfast and dinner) was excellent and the staff were all very pleasant and helpful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very nice stay, only problem we had was a lack of fridge in the room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Wonderful hotel, welcoming staff and excellent service. The Room was lovely and clean and extremely comfortable, with home made cookies provided everyday. Unfortunately the cooked breakfast was disappointing and did not taste very nice, but the rest was very good. Breakfast made up for by the rest of the hotel. Would definitely stay again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very nice overall, food was great, nice setting. Only problem for me was that we had a standard room in the new block which was in the roof line of the building. The roof rooms get very hot and remain hot into the night. Other than that would highly recommendGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient for visit to Sandringham"
We were dissapointed that we were allocated a room in adjacent cottage complex, and not in main hotel. We had to carry our bags for 50/60 yards and then negotiate a narrow steep 180 degree turn stair. Not easy for 70 and 76 year olds carrying bags. No one offered to carry our bags. The room was pleasant enough, but we think that only one chair in a […] double room is not enough. On check-in we ordered a newspaper for the following morning. We did not receive it, and on enquiry, were told that it had been put on order fot the wrong day. The restaurant, and the serving staff there were very good for breakfast.. We feel that we should have been informed about the room situation when booking. We would have had second thoughts. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We went for a night away with friends to celebrate a birthday. Lovely, small hotel, beautiful grounds, friendly staff, rooms small but very comfortable. The four poster room was lovely. Food in restaurant at dinner was nice, but not great. Breakfast was very good. Overall a lovely stay but probably a little overpriced .Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Hotel de caractere tres bien tenu. We stayed here for my husband's special birthday. The manor suite I booked was very quiet and comfortable. Nice to have fresh milk in a flask and home-made biscuits. Lovely toiletries etc. A faulty lamp and curtain were dealt with swiftly. The only disappointment was lack of a fridge, but the staff were helpful and provided some ice. The breakfast was delicious; freshly cooked hot food rather than a hot buffet(sometimes not so hot!) although there was still plenty of choice of cereals, bread etc. Would have been nice to have a fruit salad or similar as fruit was rather limited. We had dinner both nights and they even cooked my husband a special steak on his birthday. The staff were always pleasant and eager to help. A very happy stay.

my friend booked for us to go here for Sunday lunch after herding it is good ! Well the staff did not smile we orderd our meals the starts were ok but when getting the main the meat came and we had to what for the veg which ment the meat got cold then the veg had not spoons to dish up had to ask and what again so all getting cold then ask for water had to ask for glasses to put it in . The meat was tender but had very little taste the potatoes which roast one was lovely the other was reheated so not nice over all would we go back no the bill was just under £100 this was for only 4 I have done lots of catering with big hotel to out side. Catering I would say the Globe in kings lynn is far better and taster as it was like pub food not hotel which should be far better standed then a pub with the extra cost would we go back or recommend definitely No shame .

I stayed at the hotel whilst attending a management planning day with work. We had a very pleasant meeting room in the main house and our very spacious and comfortable bedrooms were all in the same building. The decor is very tasteful, the location very pleasant and the staff were all friendly, helpful and discreet. The food was absolutely superb and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. A great place for business or pleasure.

Stayed a couple of nights at this lovely hotel. Room was in a modern terrace of rooms near hotel. Room was of adequate size with nice large comfortable bed. Had dinner in lovely conservatory.Breakfast and dinner served to you which made a pleasant surprise. Food of very high standard and have a very nice cream tea offer.Staff all very friendly and local people. Hotel ideally situated near Hunstanton and Snettisham. Would stay again without a second thought.

My wife and I stayed for one night on 18 September. We were located in Samphire 9D which was very clean with a very large double bed. The evening meal was taken in the conservatory and while the fixed price menu was was adequate the atmosphere was a bit bland. The tables lacked table cloths, the floor covering was tiled and the lighting could have been a bit more subdued. What we found irritating was that after almost every mouthful we were asked if everything was O.K. We could not fault the breakfast.

Stayed in one of the " cottages" in the hotel grounds. Very clean and comfortable, but very hot. Needed the fan which was provided. Breakfast was more than plentiful with an excellent variety, enough choice for everyone. We ate in the restaurant on our 1st. night. We opted for the specials menu, good value for £20 a head but not much choice. Before booking for our next night, the following morning I asked if that evenings specials menu was available. "It would be available in 10 mins", "not available until 3p.m", "available in 30 mins". Needless to say I didn't wait and we ate out for the next 3 nights. Would revisit but only for bed and breakfast.
"A great weekend getaway"

The hotel is a well maintained old manor house with accommodation both within the Manor House itself and in apartments around the main building. The rooms are adequate in size and some are on the upper floor so not suitable if you have difficulty with stairs. This would be a particularly suitable place in the cooler months as we found the accommodation to be well heated and yet, even with window ventilation, the warmer periods could be a little too warm so try for a ground floor room. The restaurant serves good honest food with a varied menu and an excellent breakfast. Overall the hotel is ideally situated for visiting local attractions and towns like Hunstanton, Wells-next-the sea, Sheringham and Cromer. The golf course is part of the complex and, although we did not play this time we learned from others that it is challenging and has several long drives. A lovely setting however, and a very pleasant day can be had here.
"Friendly and helpfull"

stayed a couple of nights at Heacham Manor in one of the cottage rooms and ate in the restaurant one evening. The room while being comfortable was beside he boiler house which made the room very hot and the noise of the pumps running all night did not encourage sleep! The restaurant menu had interesting dishes which were well presented and tasty. At breakfast there was a wide range of cooked dishes plus fresh fruit cereals and juices enough to keep anyone going all day. Overall a pleasant place to stay with the added bonus of wide ranging views over the golf course towards the sea and countryside.
"Excellently located, friendly hotel!"

We stayed weekend to explore area not visited in 8 years, excellent location for all north Norfolk attractions.....admittedly mostly natural! Staff are friendly, helpful and personable, breakfast service very efficient (hotel restaurants generally not to our liking, so we ate out in evening). Hotel was full so we took deluxe, "accessible" room at top price. Room and bed were lovely, spacious and comfortable, only downside was disabled bathroom, with no bath as wheelchair space required, but we couldn't really fault the facility. Please upgrade showers to more powerful soon, otherwise clean! Accessible room gave us table, chairs and small patio overlooking golf course, lovely for evening sun! Only downside was car park full, so as we were in disability room we were given permission to park in disabled space, only to find our " neighbouring" room occupants ready to remonstrate both with us and hotel staff about it. Good experience generally...if you're not hotel restaurant fan treat yourselves to White Horse, Brancaster; Orange Tree, Thornham; The Hoste at Burnham Market.
