Loved this hotel. When I saw the picture and the price I thought there would be a new build block behind, but no, although we were in a barn conversion it was very tidy, peaceful, comfortable and very tasteful. A minor issue was it was difficult to fill the kettle from the sink however bath worked okay although I couldn't figure out the hot water in the bath, it had a lovely shower as well. Breakfast was lovely and poached eggs were spot on. Id love to stay there again.

Stayed for our honeymoon for one night at the hotel. Positives - staff very friendly, breakfast was excellent, very nice setting. Negatives - nothing major, decor slightly dated and evening meal times we were offered were unsuitable for children... which was a real shame as we were really looking forward to eating there.

Stayed for one night travelling through, all was good. Room very warm and comfortable. Room was not in the main building but in a block close to the golf course. Fine if its not raining, it would not be easy going to breakfast in inclement weather. Breakfast was good.

Friendly and polite local staff, accepted last room which was "accessible" - meaning disabled-style bathroom with no bath (wet room style). Bonus to that was very large room, with small sunny patio and French doors overlooking lawn and golf course!

Lovely building and surroundings. Our room was very comfortable especially the beds. We enjoyed our dinner (made me think of "master chef") and the breakfast was excellent. The dining room staff were excellent and couldn't have been more helpful. Slight question mark on reception as I needed to wait until a private phone call was completed before I was acknowledged, and that was by another receptionist who helped me in the end.

Nice hotel, good clean rooms. The only let down was the restaurant. We were the only two in it to start with. Were at our table at 18.30 and didn't get anything to eat until 19.30. Both fish dishes were a little over cooked and very salty. I ordered two glasses of wine, both of which I had to send back as they smelt and tasted stale. The youngsters serving the wine obviously did not know there wine at all and should not have served it up as you could tell it wasn't right just by the smell. The very pleasant young lady serving us completely forgot us twice. Once for the menu, the second time I had to find her to remind her that we had asked for the desert menu 20 mins ago. The breakfast was excellent each morning with good service. Overall I would say that we had poor service from very nice people.

This is a relatively small hotel with recently added bedrooms and beauty treatment rooms. The original hotel building where reception the bar restaurant and lounge are located is a handsome old stone and tile construction. Interior decor is a bit staid but smart. Staff are helpful and efficient. Breakfast is a bit limited but offers a good an array of cooked options and continental style buffet. Bedrooms are clean tidy and simply furnished with no wifi but lan ports. Wifi is available in the lounge bar etc. The treatment suite is reasonably priced. Heacham and Hunstanton are about a 20 minute walk away. The hotel is well worth considering for a reasonably priced golfing or quiet getaway.

We stayed in The Manor Suite which was spacious and light. The 4poster bed had a terrible mattress which was made worse with a ill fitting topper. Carpet was badly fitted and in need of stretching to remove the bagging. The wash basin tap was a disaster, it only cleared the edge by millimeters and to make matters worse diverted the water inwards so the water went down the overflow at the back. The shower/ bath mixer had no instructions and it took ages to figure out the diverter is on the end of the filler. We decided to eat in the restaurant for our evening meal. Whilst I has asking the receptionist for more tea bags and milk (the hotel uses thermos flasks) my wife walked into the dining area and sat at one of the tables. There were over 15 tables and only 1 other diner. I walked over to the table where upon a young waitress came over and in a very angry tone started to tell us off for not waiting at the sign in the hallway. She then told us that we had to get up and walk all the way back out and stand by the sign. I told my wife not to go as it was stupid to walk all the way out only then to walk all the way back so that the waitress could see which table we had been allocated to. Why couldn't we just remain at our table the waitress just change the table numbers I've no idea but perhaps customer service is not a priority. It left my wife feeling rather embarrassed by the whole experience and spoilt what had been a lovely break.

Large, comfortable if old-fashioned room. Large clean bathroom but toilet squashed in so tightly that you have to sit sideways! Service relentlessly chirpy and professional but impersonal. Food pleasant - like a home-cooked meal. Constant piped music in dining room very annoying. Hotel fine for one night but would not have wished to pay full price.

Wonderful hotel, welcoming staff and excellent service. The Room was lovely and clean and extremely comfortable, with home made cookies provided everyday. We were dissapointed that we were allocated a room in adjacent cottage complex, and not in main hotel. We had to carry our bags for 50/60 yards and then negotiate a narrow steep 180 degree turn stair. Not easy for 70 and 76 year olds carrying bags. No one offered to carry our bags. The room was pleasant enough, but we think that only one chair in a double room is not enough. On check-in we ordered a newspaper for the following morning. We did not receive it, and on enquiry, were told that it had been put on order fot the wrong day. The restaurant, and the serving staff there were very good for breakfast.. We feel that we should have been informed about the room situation when booking. We would have had second thoughts.

This was a last minute booking over the bank holiday weekend. Beautiful location. The building and outer building are stunning. The service we received was excellent. The reception staff were welcoming and helpful, in the restaurant on the Saturday evening the waiter was exceptional looking after my sister who is coeliac, it was clear that they knew there stuff and nothing was to much trouble. Highly recommend this place to stay or just dine! We will return! Well done!

"What has gone wrong"
05/25/15 peter b Norwich, United Kingdom
Booked last minute on Half board, have been several times before & have always found it to be great value with excellent food & service. This time however the evening meals left a lot to be desired, soup (leek & potato) lack of seasoning & I think they forgot the leeks, main course reasonable, desert, Frangipane tart lacked almonds & chocolate/banana cake was dry. Breakfast was excellent Second night, Chicken goujons brought in & overcooked, Mashed potato like lead in edable, panna cotta suspect just made with milk not cream with no vanilla noticeable. When staff told answer was will tell the chef. There were not many people staying at the Hotel on a Bank Holiday hope this is not a reflection on falling standards at what was a great hotel

"Heacham Manor- Hot Stuff"
05/21/15 Whatsthatinmysoup
I found Heacham Manor on the Internet and decided to arrange a stay. I have to say the hotel was well maintained and in a lovely location. We stayed in a standard room, these are located in the cottages away from the main hotel. The room itself was clean and spacious. There was a nice selection of drinks and some cheeky biscuits. The day we stayed was a warm spring day, temperatures topping around 17 degrees. However the room was at least 10 degreas warmer than outside. The towel rail has been left on full which was soon turned off. The thermostat could be changed but could go no lower than 10 degrees. Of course the window was opened and this remained open for the entire stay. The bed was spacious and comfy however a good night sleep was not to be had due to the unbearable heat. The bed covers were not needed. Obviously this is a common problem in these rooms as a fan was provided. This done nothing but circulate the warm air around the room. Our room was upstairs in the cottage block, you could feel the heat radiating from the floor so the heat could have been contributed by other guests downstairs who maybe 'felt the cold'. After waking from a broken nights sleep I was greeted with a stuffy nose, headache and dry throat. We decided to pop down and try breakfast, there was a lovely selection of pastries, cereals and fruit. Unfortunately the cooked breakfast was a little tastless. Overall the stay was ok, the hotel facilities and the staff were pleasant. Unfortunately, this time didn't make for a comfortable stay.

"Lovely hotel in a stunning location"
05/05/15 Caroline F Grimsby, United Kingdom
We stayed for one night at this hotel on 3rd May. From the moment we arrived, we were very impressed with the hotel. The hotel itself is an elegant old manor house which has been very sympathetically converted into a hotel. We were greeted by a very friendly young lady on reception who couldn't do enough for us. We had booked a superior room, which although not massive, was a decent enough size for 2 of us and was very comfortable. There was a nice touch of some home made biscuits and fresh milk in a flask on the tea tray. The room overlooked the golf course. We ate at the hotel both for dinner and at breakfast. The food was very reasonably priced (the set menu for dinner was extremely good value) and we couldn't fault it. The breakfast was plentiful and offered a good variety in addition to the good old English breakfast. All the staff we encountered at this hotel were genuinely friendly and were happy to engage in conversation rather than trot out the platitudes straight from the training manual! We were sorry that we weren't staying longer than one night, but we will certainly be staying here again next time we find ourselves in north Norfolk.

"Wonderful stay! We can't wait to come again!"
05/03/15 antonia p Norfolk,england
Me and my husband stayed here for one night to visit friends who live in the village. We where very impressed with the location and the beautiful surroundings. We stayed in the out building (cottages) right opposite the main building. We had no complaints about the room it was lovely and bright and very cosy. The window looked right over the beautiful lake. Although the room may have been smallish it was perfect for us,especially just for one night. The bathroom was lovely, very impressed to have a bath and a separate shower, and I must add the shower was amazing!! Both me and my husband have said it was one of the best showers we've ever had! :)) We decided to pay a little extra for room service for breakfast and that also was wonderful! The tray was beautifully presented and the food was delicious! Slightly cold toast but u have to expect that, but the plates where warm and the tea and coffee where hot! For a extra 5 pound per Person we thought it was a bargain and very worth every penny! :) I would 110% recommend staying here! We felt even for just one night it was perfect! Must also add... The staff where very nice and the receptionist made us feel very welcoming which makes a difference! Kind regards Mr and Mrs fowkes-Braule

"Good hotel in a great location"
05/02/15 Holty4England Norwich, United Kingdom
Stayed here for two nights for my wife's birthday using Red Letter day vouchers. Booking was very simple however maybe a good idea to offer upgrade prices as would've quite happily paid a bit more on top to upgrade from the standard rooms. Check in was hassle free and given directions to our room which was away from the main building. Recommend leaving luggage in car whilst checking as you may be situated near the car park anyway! Then took absolutely ages to work out how to unlock the outer door (we weren't the only ones having problems with it and most left outer door unlocked as a result). Once in, the room was slightly underwhelming as it was quite small with only a small window on the sloping ceiling which was quite high up so you couldn't see out unless standing up with your head actually out of the window! We then sat in the room listening to a young child in the room below, not the child's or family's fault but we'd come for a couple of days without the kids! Reception kindly arranged for us to move rooms and although we were overlooking a building site it was much lighter and welcoming. Has no phone signal (ee) but quickly sorted the wifi which was very good. We then went to walk around the grounds but not sure if we missed something as the only walk we could find was straight through the golf course and onto a caravan site and the onto the beach. Wasn't a bad walk and got a good view of the sunset along the coastal path. Could do with some signs in the hotel grounds as we were never quite sure if we were going the right way or even if we were allowed on the path through the golf course. We only ate at Heacham Manor at breakfast which was good and service was very friendly. The conservatory was lovely a bright and staff always available. We drank in the bar during one evening and had to wait a while as no one was behind the bar, drink choices were limited and it was all very quiet however there was plenty of seating and would be lovely in the summer sitting out on the patio. Second night sleep was slightly disturbed as two men in room next to us came in at 12ish and then proceeded to let the door slam about 8 times in 45 minutes whilst they went up and down the stairs to smoke outside the front door and left the TV on full volume. This was extremely annoying but not the hotels fault although did put a negative on last night there. Overall the hotel is in a very good location and you can walk to the coast and it's only a short drive to some lovely areas of North Norfolk. Would recommend Heacham Manor to others and would stay again but would like to try rooms in main building next time.

"Ideal location with Perfect Food"

This was the 2nd Year 28 Broadland MGOC members booked in for St Georges Day Sunday lunch, the menu offered a good selection of starters ,main's and deserts of which everyone enjoyed their selection.Staff couldn't be more helpful ,we dined in the conservatory with a view overlooking the Manor's golf course. My wife and I have stayed in the main rooms of hotel before and look forward to returning in July as this will be an ideal place to stop over for Sandringham Flower Show.

"Short Break with our Dog"

We have just spent two nights with our springer spaniel in a 'family suite' ie a cottage, overlooking the duck pond, a short walk from the main hotel. The well furnished accommodation had a double bedroom with large en suite bathroom, a living/dining/kitchen area plus a wet room! Nice little touches included fresh milk in a flask and homemade biscuits to go with the tea and coffee. Our deal included breakfasts with delicious hot food cooked to order as well as a cold buffet. We treated ourselves to dinner in the AA rosette restaurant on our last night, everything was well cooked and presented; I especially enjoyed my starter of King Scallops, Crispy Belly Pork and Apple Puree. The staff were all young and friendly, the location was good; we would certainly recommend it. Our only adverse comment would be that the walk across the golf course and then through a poorly signed caravan site to the beach seemed longer than than the 200 metres mentioned on the website.

"Overnight Golf Trip"

I stayed at Heacham Manor overnight as part of a visiting group of golfers. The accommodation was small cottage rooms set aside from the main building, mine was an en suite twin which offered excellent accommodation. Dinner was in the main restaurant with a special menu for the deal we were on. a good choice if starter, main and dessert. The food and service was excellent. Breakfast was cold buffet with very good selection, and an order for hot meal again offering excellent choice. The golf course is young and for experienced lower handicap will be your only disappointment. It is a full SI 72 course with enough distance and character, but the fairways are tight and greens poor. however the hotel is excellent!
