"A good centre for touring, golf and walking"
Our room was clean and well equipped including a fully functioning kitchen. The room was a triple although there were only two of us of which the hotel was made aware. They did however make up the sofa bed which meant we could not use it as a sofa (hence the lower comfort mark). The room was also some walk from the main hotel which would have been uncomfortable if it had been raining. The breakfasts were something of a disappointment although there was plenty of choice, the full breakfasts in the main seemed to have been prepared earlier. The hotel was kept clean and tidy and was in very good condition and the water was very hot! A good location for touring the area and for walking. The golf course was well used and looked to be interesting.

"Will stay elsewhere next time"
Very dated. No air con. Misrepresentation of what was being offered i.e. room was in an outbuilding ("cottages") which although new was not what was expected for this hotel rating. Breakfast was poor, mushrooms and tomatoes were obviously kept warm for hours. Staff were all friendly. Rooms very clean, toiletries were basic

"Lovely country house hotel"
Wee only had one night here which was a shame. The staff were extremely welcoming. If I had to find fault the hotel decor is a little tired and could be improved, especially the carpets, although the restaurant was better than other public areas. Lovely setting overlooking golf course. Room was comfortable and although at front of hotel, very quiet. Dinner was good except my husbands steak was dry. I had sea bass which was very good. We would definitely revisit.

"Lovely hotel"
Lovely hotel and room very new although we had a problem with the shower as the door would not shut properly and water poured over the floor. With it being an upstairs room water will soon go through and soak the ceiling below. Plus the door handle to the outside of the cottage was broken and you needed a key to get out. In the event of a fire if you did not have your key you would be trapped inside!

"Good hotel, but avoid accessibility rooms"
We stayed here with friends for a weekend of golf, food and fun. When we booked we thought we had upgraded to a deluxe room but the upgrade option led us to an accessability room. The room itself was great and has a small terrace which was nice, but the bathroom was terrible - broken shower, nhs bin, poor layout. This spoilt our visit which was a shame. The hotel also lost our booking due to a new computer system, but this was probably just a one-off. Other than that the hotel and its surroundings are a nice place to stay.

"Good Location"
Single overnight stop during visit to Hunstanton and north Norfolk. Picturesque old main building for some rooms, restaurant and bar. We stayed in converted barn where the rooms were very smart and tidy with generous bathrooms. No scones available for cream tea and slow breakfast service were only issues.

"Lovely gem of a hotel"
From the moment we arrived at this hotel, we were made to feel extremely welcome. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We had paid for a superior room which, although not huge, was very nice and comfortable. There was a nice touch of home made biscuits and fresh milk in a flask on the tea tray. The food at this hotel was lovely. The set dinner menu was particularly good value. Breakfast was plentiful and offered a good variety including kippers, smoked salmon and omelettes, as well as an English breakfast. All in all, we really enjoyed our stay and will definitely stay here again next time we are in the area.

"A Great Stay"
Loved this hotel. When I saw the picture and the price I thought there would be a new build block behind, but no, although we were in a barn conversion it was very tidy, peaceful, comfortable and very tasteful. A minor issue was it was difficult to fill the kettle from the sink however bath worked okay although I couldn't figure out the hot water in the bath, it had a lovely shower as well. Breakfast was lovely and poached eggs were spot on. Id love to stay there again.

Stayed for our honeymoon for one night at the hotel. Positives - staff very friendly, breakfast was excellent, very nice setting. Negatives - nothing major, decor slightly dated and evening meal times we were offered were unsuitable for children... which was a real shame as we were really looking forward to eating there.

"Lovely hotel"
Lovely building and surroundings. Our room was very comfortable especially the beds. We enjoyed our dinner (made me think of "master chef") and the breakfast was excellent. The dining room staff were excellent and couldn't have been more helpful. Slight question mark on reception as I needed to wait until a private phone call was completed before I was acknowledged, and that was by another receptionist who helped me in the end.

"Nice hotel in pleasant grounds"
Nice hotel, good clean rooms. The only let down was the restaurant. We were the only two in it to start with. Were at our table at 18.30 and didn't get anything to eat until 19.30. Both fish dishes were a little over cooked and very salty. I ordered two glasses of wine, both of which I had to send back as they smelt and tasted stale. The youngsters serving the wine obviously did not know there wine at all and should not have served it up as you could tell it wasn't right just by the smell. The very pleasant young lady serving us completely forgot us twice. Once for the menu, the second time I had to find her to remind her that we had asked for the desert menu 20 mins ago. The breakfast was excellent each morning with good service. Overall I would say that we had poor service from very nice people.

"Quiet getaway hotel near Heacham"
This is a relatively small hotel with recently added bedrooms and beauty treatment rooms. The original hotel building where reception the bar restaurant and lounge are located is a handsome old stone and tile construction. Interior decor is a bit staid but smart. Staff are helpful and efficient. Breakfast is a bit limited but offers a good an array of cooked options and continental style buffet. Bedrooms are clean tidy and simply furnished with no wifi but lan ports. Wifi is available in the lounge bar etc. The treatment suite is reasonably priced. Heacham and Hunstanton are about a 20 minute walk away. The hotel is well worth considering for a reasonably priced golfing or quiet getaway.

"Needs improving"
We stayed in The Manor Suite which was spacious and light. The 4poster bed had a terrible mattress which was made worse with a ill fitting topper. Carpet was badly fitted and in need of stretching to remove the bagging. The wash basin tap was a disaster, it only cleared the edge by millimeters and to make matters worse diverted the water inwards so the water went down the overflow at the back. The shower/ bath mixer had no instructions and it took ages to figure out the diverter is on the end of the filler. We decided to eat in the restaurant for our evening meal. Whilst I has asking the receptionist for more tea bags and milk (the hotel uses thermos flasks) my wife walked into the dining area and sat at one of the tables. There were over 15 tables and only 1 other diner. I walked over to the table where upon a young waitress came over and in a very angry tone started to tell us off for not waiting at the sign in the hallway. She then told us that we had to get up and walk all the way back out and stand by the sign. I told my wife not to go as it was stupid to walk all the way out only then to walk all the way back so that the waitress could see which table we had been allocated to. Why couldn't we just remain at our table the waitress just change the table numbers I've no idea but perhaps customer service is not a priority. It left my wife feeling rather embarrassed by the whole experience and spoilt what had been a lovely break.

"Great hotel for couples"
Great experience throughout, from a confirmation email within a couple of hours of booking checking whether we wanted a double or twin room, to the moment we left. In between, the staff were attentive and polite without being intrusive, the room was very comfortable, the food was excellent, whether cooked breakfast, bar snack or evening meal in the restaurant. The 'standard' rooms are everything you could want (except that they lack wi-fi access!) We would definitely stay again if in the area.

"Great place for a golf widow and 2 dogs!"
05/04/16 RandJD111 Stretham, United Kingdom
We had forgotten what a great place Heacham Manor is when you have dogs. The cottage included a large bedroom, a lounge/dining/kitchen area plus one wet room and a separate bathroom. While the golfer had a great day on the golf course, I walked the dogs on nearby Heacham Beach. I was then able to sit in the beer garden at the Manor with the dogs whilst enjoying a cream tea. PS Note that if you want the full works afternoon tea this has to be ordered a day in advance as the small cakes are made fresh.Breakfasts are a delight and mostly buffet style except for the dishes with fish included e.g. scrambled eggs with smoked salmon. We had a lovely peaceful night's sleep and the only noise we heard was thebirds and ducks from the nearby pond, lovely We enjoyed the first night so much we stayed on for another night

Stopped here overnight after a last minute decision to take my daughter to the coast and what a fantastic place! We received a warm welcome from reception who were so helpful. The bar staff and waiters/waitresses were great too - nothing was too much trouble. The food was tasty and service was very quick considering it was a busy night. The room itself was perfect and spotlessly clean. The building is stunning and the grounds extremely well maintained. All in all, I think Heacham Manor is an absolute gem and I will be staying there again - next time I will book in advance not just ring up 3 hours before!

"Lovely hotel, lovely staff"
05/01/16 diandruss2016 Ipswich, United Kingdom
We stayed here for one night over the bank holiday, from the moment we arrived to the moment we left we were treated lovely, the staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them especially in the restaurant. The evening meal we ate in there was superb but watch out for the peanut brittle on the cheese board very clingy on the teeth!!! The reason I gave a four is the breakfast, don't get me wrong it was very good but it is buffet style and the area is not big enough and though there is the usual hot breakfast, if you want an egg cooked you have to request it which isn't ideal and there are several things you can still order but it is very disjointed, sorry. The room was lovely with lovely soft towels, nice freebies and a very comfy bed with lovely white bedding.

"Birthday gift"
04/26/16 324NorfolkEngland Norfolk England
I visited Heacham Manor Hotel in April with my daughter, her birthday gift to me & included a massage & manicure the following day. We stayed in a four poster room which had lovely views across the golf course. There was a selection of hot drinks & a small bottle of sparkling & still water in the room. The room was very quaint however, the water for showering was only lukewarm. The staff in the dining room were very pleasant & attentive & the food was very good but a little overpriced for what we had. The breakfast buffet was very good but the 'hot' food was less than lukewarm. The stay included lunch but the staff made a mistake with this & we almost missed it before the massage. The massage was very relaxing but since this I have quite a long & deep scratch mark on my upper back with smaller areas around it. The manicure did not last last long as the the nail applications started to chip off only 2 days following application. Four stars given as perhaps what we experienced was not the norm & the hotel & grounds were lovely.

Had a couple of nights stay, room was very good beds lovely, it was a bit noisy as people don't seem to no how to close a door properly just letting them slam shut, but this is guests not the hotel. Breakfast was a bit disappointing as they have gone over to a hot buffet, didn't expect this at this type of hotel Having said that we will be back

"Where do I start?"
04/17/16 Alan F Huntingdon, United Kingdom
It was my birthday and her ladyship thought it would be agreeable to treat us to a lovely weekend at a special place near Hunstanton. She chose Heacham Manor. Having stayed here once before, but in buildings away from the main hotel, we knew what to expect and we were not disappointed. The first thing that draws your attention is the beautiful setting that the hotel is located in. Lush green, well-kept lawns each side of the drive to the front of the building. A large duck pond with mallard and moorhens swimming happily on the surface and new buildings built in keeping with the old. Even when the sun wasn't shining as we arrived the setting gladdened our hearts before we went to book in. Our was spacious, well decorated and cosy, the bed was a four-poster. The on-suite bathroom facility was clean and tidy with ample hot water and towel rail. Even the mirror in it was heated to prevent it misting up when taking a bath or shower. We agreed that the bed was the most comfortable bed we'd ever slept in out of all the hotels we have stayed in. Unwinding in the lounge downstairs we ordered tea for two, which arrived promptly, and whilst we drank it we read some of the local literature to learn more about the people, places and things around Heacham - and there was lots! At night we decided to dine in the hotel, which we'd not done before, and it was perfect. The chef (a young lady) created some wonderful dishes, such as breast of chicken with potato gnocchi, caponata and courgette ribbons, absolutely delicious and at £15.95 it was a steal. To top it all she served William pear & bramble crumble with Norfolk vanilla ice cream. Breakfast was wonderful with a choice of cereals, stewed dried fruit and yoghurt, or toast, jams and marmalade or honey. The full English breakfast was there to help yourself too, as much as you liked, but you could choose to have something cooked for you as I did. The kipper with lemon and caper butter was poached to perfection. A stroll around the grounds of this magnificent hotel before any meal is a good idea because it works up an appetite. Strolling around the grounds AFTER a meal is even a better idea! This dog-friendly hotel is a gem and you wouldn't be disappointed if you decided to stay there for several days, whether at the main hotel or in one of the self-catering chalets close by. We recommend it.

"Afternoon Tea for Large Group"
04/16/16 EMR47 King's Lynn, United Kingdom
My wife and I organised an Afternoon Tea as a social occasion for 22 - mainly 'senior citizens'. We booked a week in advance as requested, having discussed arrangements with the Catering Manager. The tables had been rearranged to suit our suggestion, allowing all present to see each other and the pleasant suuroundings. The staff were attentive and arranged teapots and cake stands to match groupings around the tables. Offers of more tea were readily accepted by many who gamely attempted to do justice to the array of food on offer. With such a comparatively large group, there were differences of opinion on what constitutes a perfect scone and whether cream and jam should be served with a fruit scone; some would have preferred a mini Victoria/lemon sponge to the sweeter cup cake to balance the richer chocolate cake; others would like the recipe for the flapjacks! A few who could not manage their share took a 'doggy bag' home with them. For some, it was their first visit to Heacham Manor and they were, of course, impressed by the building and its setting in addition to the tea.

"Poor attention to detail."
04/13/16 Shelley B Heacham, United Kingdom
Attended afternoon tea at the manor for a friends birthday. When the food arrived there was so little of it, we were all embarrassed to take something of our own, having agreed to share, we had to cut hard scones and already tiny pieces of cake into fours. The finger sandwiches were already stale, and being a vegetarian the cheese finger was cuddled up next to a beef finger, making it rather unappealing. There was no staff to ask for extra tea, so were forced to go find them in reception, and then when I asked for clean cups, the waiter brought cups but no replacement saucers. The cups and saucers themselves looked like hospital cups, no fancy tea cups or tea pots, then to top it off the waiter overcharged us for extra tea.On being confronted about it he made no argument and agreed to take it off the bill, but for thirty plus pounds this was a very disappointing offering.
