A LOVELY Haveli perfectly situated with a gorgeous rooftop terrace with an unbeatable panorama. The rooms are perfectly comfortable but can be described as no-frills. So many hotels offer an electric tea kettle in rooms, and one grows accustomed to that luxury. Happily, that is the only thing that I felt was lacking. The staff are all adorable, the building itself is lovely, and it is just steps from the Jagdish Temple and the City Palace, and just three more steps in the other direction to the footbridge that takes you to the Hanuman Ghat.

Nothing fancy, but clean as a whistle and super close to all the major attractions. Hotel staff went above and beyond. Restaurant is good and reasonable. Don't let the 3 star rating fool you, this hotel is run better than some 5 star places.

The room was nice (though the bathroom had a murky smell) and the building is an old "haveli" (small palace). The vegetarian food at the restaurant was good, but I cannot say the same for the non vegetarian food. The service at the front desk, especially after hours, needs improvement though. We checked out at 5:00 am on Jan 12, 2013 and the night duty manager was fast asleep behind the counter. It was hard to wake him up and settle our bills. The taxi arranged by the hotel to take us to the airport had not shown up and we were anxious. Instead of calling to make sure that the taxi arrived, the manager asked us to wait patiently and went back to sleep and did not want to be disturbed!!

Our stay was comfortable. Our attendant named Pandit was responding to our requirement quick. Few things if added to rooms like TV, & cafe service will make it more enjoyable. It turned to be good choice for us. Located among bargain shopping area and eating places. Great lake View.
