We had a great stay in Harrogate and where treated extremely well by all of the hotel staff. We came from the US and actually had my sisters wedding at the hotel. The service and friendliness of the staff was first rate. The room was comfortable and clean but on the small side. The food was excellent and the dining room is spectaular. The hotel is very conveinent for getting into the center of town, a 10 minute walk.

This guesthouse was very charming, and the hostess was most gracious, making every effort to make guests feel at home. Tea and snacks were offered at all times, and the neighborhood was lovely. The visit was refreshing - quite a contrast to an impersonal hotel!

"Great Location"
The Black Swan is located in the market square in Middleham which is a lovely village on the edge of the magnificent Yorkshire Dales. It is one of the most important centres for training racehorse in the UK. The Black Swan is a nice old traditional pub and we received a warm welcome. "Nice Olde Worlde pub accommodation"
Comfortable quaint pub accommodation, separate entrance so can access when closed. Not the plushest of hotels and needs a refurb but comfortable beds and lovely location with beautiful scenery and villages. Take ear plugs if early to bed as pub noise heard throughout. "A Night of Character and Taste"
The hotel is on the main street of the quiet and beautiful village of Middleham and parking is readily available nearby. We were welcomed warmly and found our rooms clean and ready. The wi-fi service worked well. Our evening meal, shared with a small group, was excellent, served on time, and allowed us to try foods I had previously not eaten - i.e. […] ostrich and kangaroo. The vegetarian selection was wide enough to satisfy most tastes and all the food was delicious.Middleham is a lovely little village and, in spite of the fact that it rained throughout our stay, we enjoyed the whole experience. Spennende, eldgammelt hotell med smale trapper, knirkende gulv og flott beliggenhet midt i Middleham. Rommet var smakløst innredet, hadde toalett som nesten var umulig å skylle ned og man måtte være temmelig sprek for å klatre alle de smale trappene med kofferter o.l. Dama som tok i mot oss var hyggelig nok, men virket urutinert og vimsete. Noe som […] gjorde opplevelsen ved kveldsmåltidet til en småstressa affære hvor vi verken visste hvor vi burde sitte eller om vi skulle bestille ved disken eller ved bordet.
