Great place but a bit off the center of the city - but closer to Industrial area of Origgio. Malpensa is about 45 KM away with a very good Malpensa-Milan Express train service available to Seranno and Linnate about 60 KM away. Milan Station is about 45 minutes away by taxi on a good day. Train service from Serrano to Milan (close to hotel) is infrequent. Service provided is excellent with the staff being cheerful and helpful. Breakfast is good as in most of Europe (unlike England!). Great room size and well maintained.

The hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating. Food was great. The complimentary breakfast had a great assortment of cheeses, meats, fruit, cereal, and croissants and bread. . It is across the street from the lake so the view is pretty from the rooms.

Non-smoking room had an ashtray and the bathroom stunk of smoke. Bathroom door had no latch and would not stay closed. Bed was very firm, but is typical for these airport hotels. Close to airport with free shuttle, good breakfast spread, no in-house resturant, but local "family" resturant with shuttle was very good and affordable. Good value.

Located in Collina d'Oro (Lake Lugano), Grotto Flora is close to Casa Camuzzi, Monte San Salvatore, and Mount Caslano. Also nearby are Alprose Chocolate Factory and Museum of Modern Art.

Grotta Flora was hard to find and was below expectation. Extension cords were across floor to operate electrical equipment. Quaint, but definetly not was expected. Breakfast included was juice and toast. THis was below expectation also.

Otroligt mysigt och fint hotell beläget en bit upp i bergen några minuter från Lugano med bil. Fin restaurang och kontinental frukost. Tyvärr hade vi lite problem med betalningen innan resan då vi blev debiterade dubbelt och hade svårt att få pengarna tillbaka. I övrigt trivdes vi jättebra och kan rekomendera detta boende för en kortare vistelse.

Das Grotto Flora ist ein Familienbetrieb und mehr B&B als Hotel. Störend war nur der Hund im Haus aber die Wirtsleute haben sich sichtlich bemüht, dass er immer weggeschlossen war. Die Zimmer sind schlicht, was bei diesem Preis auch durchaus verständlich ist. Dafür sehr sauber. Bewirtet wurden wir wie Fürsten und es schien der absolute Stolz der Wirtin […] zu sein, ihre Gäste glücklich zu machen. Sieht die Speisekarte eher schlicht aus und die Preise stolz, darf man sich durchaus wundern über die kulinarische Vielfalt die ohne Aufpreis serviert wird, was das Wort "stolz" wieder ins rechte Licht rückt. Bezüglich Essen und Gemütlichkeit lohnt es sich allemal hier eine Nacht zu verbringen. Read more
