On entry the staff is exceptional..the lobby very airy and open definitely have that island feel! Our room was very comfortable the bathroom was ok the shower is very small but if baths are you thing then a tub is also included,the toilet had a ring in the bowl.. And I've never been to a hotel where you are given the left overs of body wash, conditioner,or […] shampoo from past guest.. We only ate at the buffet for dinner and that's just ok,but they are short staffed in this department so waits are long and plenty of attitude when you order a drink since this requires them to go upstairs. Breakfast was great tho..lots of options and its included!! There is a free shuttle that takes you to pigeon point but outside of that you have to take a taxi that can take forever to get there since the hotel is about a mile or more from the main road. Our stay was great! We have been the Jamacia, St Lucia, Dominican Republic, St Marteen, Hawaii, Coastal Islands off of Spain, many Mexico Locations and this was in the top 3. The hotel was very nice and amazing and the best on the island. We were so happy we went with this hotel! We went to 3 other hotels on the island to eat and check out there beaches […] and they didnt compare! The staff was so friendly! Rent a car to get around the island- after a day it will come with ease and save you a lot of money! This hotel was only 10 minutes from the airport but sucluded! All rooms have an ocean view! Dinner was outrageously expensive. $50/person a night, without drinks. I was mortified that there was a 15% V.A.T. tax AND a 10% surcharge on top of the bill. That's an extra 25% that I did not account for on vacation. Then you tip on top of that? No one in the world charges 25% on top of everything you buy. If I would have known that, I wouldn't have […] gone to Tobago. I could have gone to a number of places with beaches in the US and Caribbean that don't have that kind of tax. We have stayed here several times when owned by Hilton. Still an excellent hotel and staff. Some positive changes. We had one very small issue with bathroom sink and it was fixed within 15 minutes. We will be coming back.

The hotel is clean and beautiful, very upscale. All sevices were exceptional except for the conceirge that could not make appropriate suggestions or meet our needs for dining and tourism. The pictures of the beach are misleading from the website. The beach is unusable, full of seaweed and rocks. They told us not to swim in the ocean and that it was […] necessary to take a shuttle to the Caribbean side where you have to pay for beach access. The initial view of the resort was breathtaking and expansive. This view continued throughout our 3 day stay. The customer service was superfantastic, the pools were clean and well maintained, the restaurants were very nice and the food was good. The taxi from the airport to the resort could have been better coordinated (long wait), but it was a busy […] weekend with Fathers Day and a local holiday. The location is outstanding and the food is good but it's about $50 US per person for dinner if you do not have an all-inclusive package. We did like the quality of the hotel and after living in Trinidad for a while, it felt like coming back to the States. Things tend to not run on time. I made a reservation for golf for 10 am but was then told that […] I wouldn't be able to get a golf cart till 12 pm. When I got there, hardly anyone was on the course and there were plenty of carts available. By the time I finished around 3:45, the hotel was finished serving lunch and we had to wait to eat till 7 pm which was hard with a one year old child. They do have rental car service available which was nice, and we were able to drive around the island. We liked it better than where we stayed before. Just be prepared to wait a little bit as that is the culture on the islands. Read more

We stayed at Magdalena for 4 nights and it is a beautiful hotel, in a great location with a big pool and few small ones, and it has access to the beach. The hotel is nice and clean, staff are helpful and you get a nice cool towel and a nice drink on arrival. The breakfast is good and varied, with a good choice of cold and hot food, there is also a chef […] that will cook an omelette or eggs as you like them. The coffee is not so good, which is disappointing as T&T produce their own. Dinner buffet was not impressive, we tried it when they had seafood night and apart from the big roasted fish, everything else did not appear to be fresh or tasty. Kalina restaurant on the premises offers a more sophisticated dining but the menu is not that varied and a lot of wines are not in stock, they mainly have expensive ones available. The food however is good but not fine dining. They also prefer if you book a table with the concierge in advance which we found rather strange as it never seemed full. There is access to the beach and plenty loungers at the beach and pools. There is also a bar at the pool which is rather nice, you can sit in the pool and have a refreshing drink. The hotel is located on bigger premises, which include a golf course and villas, some are available as holiday rent and some are private houses. Overall, the hotel is good, if a bit overpriced. I would like to see faster service. Our check-in was quick and was able to check-in before 3:00PM. I had my husband and my 13 year old and I check-in we were suppose to get a cot or smaller bed put into our room that never happen and I did not bring it to their attention I make do with the King sizw bed for the 3 of us. I had to ask for extra towels […] since it was only for 2 people. I left one morning at 7:00 to have breakfast and island tour and came back to my room after 4:00pm and the room was not made up, I had to bring this to room service attention. Housekeeping need to clean the washroom more indept not only change towels. Food is very expensive at the hotel. Overall I would say the hotel is fair but there is room for improvement. Read more

I booked for 4 on line and when I arrived was told that I needed to pay for extra person. I also had to wait till they found a room for my stay which all details of my arrival and number of guest were on my booking confermation. I paid the extra $50 us dollars which I was told I need to pay but when checking out they asked me to pay additional tax on […] this payment which I refused to pay due to my intier booking fee being changed when I had confirmation of my booking payment number of persons time I was arriving and room needed. Which I confirmed with online operator. In saying all this I was traveling with my family and made the best of our stay at the hotel and on the Island which we enjoyed. Read more
