"Total Ripoff - Dont book this hotel"
we spent one night at this hotel, when we reached there rooms were not ready, we had to ask for every single item that we get in other hotels without even asking. Hotel was not clean, rooms were dirty. Very noisy. Staff is ok. after spending two hours we were able to settle down. No Hot water. No Heaters and Towels had two much bad smell. It feels like […] we spent too much money for this bad hotel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
we decided to ovenight in AGRA to have the chance see Taj during the sunset and sunrise, which was wonderfull, however the surnrise was foggy. If you are looking for the very basics from a hotel, this is the one, TV does not have english or any other language except Indian. Room was cold and there was no heating. Most of the rooms, had no windows-they […] were blind. No bath tab or shower. inside of the room some old ferniture very basic. They will give you toilet paper after you reach the room, asthe room it's self does not have, Internet is available with 50RS an hour down at the reception. I have ask for wifi in the room but they said only manager knows the password. Top of the hotel there is a small roof garden you may see partially the top of Taj Mahal. We had dinner , food was good but the service took long time to come, and waiters spoke limited english.Lots of Monkeys in the roof and general in most of the suroundings roofs, during the afternoon hours, at night i have not seen them.During the night hours after 11pm and untill 4am people checking in and noise was unbeleivable, impossible to sleep. the hotel was full and the guests had no respect for the other people sleeping and trying to sleep. I will avoid to stay at this hotel again, I am sure there are some other better choices than that. As i have said very very basic hotel !!!! The hotel is located about 500 feet to the west gate of TAJ. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very nice hotel to stay"
I strongly recomend this hotel as its location is very nice and also very much close to taj mahal and also good in serviceGenuine Hotels.com guest review
It started with a room with 2 beds instead of 4 which we payed for. The room we were finally given had no sheets, when we finally argued for sheets they were dirty. The hotel was backpakers style. No hot water, no towels and no toilet paper. For the price we paid it was terrible!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Daawat hotel Review"
As per Expedia....the hotel was rated as 3 stars and the room rate was too high for the night ...I would rate the hotel as 1 or 2 stars...Hotel room was in bad condition...it was too small for the price being taken.. all mosquitoes in the room...outside area still under construction...breakfast quality was not upto the mark....no ventilation or window […] in the room. "SO - SO Hotel. Not worth the money."
it is not a 3 star Hotel. Lobby is Good But Room Quality is not Good. No hot water when there is no electricity. Felt that Staff / Management was trying to get as much financial benefit as possible from tourist.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Tusen och en natt"
Reste med en grupp på 18 pers och vi fick en och ½ våning för oss själva. Fick brasa på taket och mat där. Tre rum var bättre än resten men alla rum var bra. Tog lång tid med frukosten eftersom vi var så många.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Hotel Daawat Palace-taj mahal"
We chose this hotel because of it's location, just 800 m from the Taj Mahal. We only stayed one night and we would not recomend staying there a long time. The room was extremly damp. For example we left our stuff in the room for few hours and when we came back our clothes and books were damp as well. The room was extreamly cold and when we checked out […] they told us that they had a heater, would have been nice to know that when we checked in. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Below average hotel..reviews are not correct"

"Nice and comfortable, close to the Taj"

We had a really comfortable stay here, the room was lovely and we got a good price. It was really clean, and quite quiet. The staff were friendly and helpful too - it's a very short walk to the Taj too, we were very satisfied here!
"You MUST try The restaurant!!!!"

We didn't stay in The hotel, but The common areas were clean, spacious and quite luxurious for Agra. Somebody took us There for dinner and we fell in LOVE with the roof restaurant facing Taj Mahal. Food was amazing and The staff very helpful + nice. Even The hotel manager sat down@ our table to share a wicked chai tea and a lovely conversation. We strongly recomend Dawaat Palace if you R coming to Agra
"Best Value for Money"

Initially, we booked a room here for just one night. We had great difficulty in finding the hotel as the location in Google maps was wrong (which I fixed later) and roads around Taj are closed for private four wheelers. Finally, we found it and we were given a room on the second floor (thank god they have a lift). We were pretty impressed by the open area on the top floor. They also got free covered underground parking (though limited to 7-8 cars) which is a premium in this area. Based on these two factors, we decided to extend our stay for two more nights. We just fell in love with the open area on top floor. We used to walk on this for hours in the evening. Apart from the above, the food is quite average (not spicy enough for Indians as they got used to cooking for foreigners). The staff is really polite and helpful. Apart from slow service during dinner time (probably due to rush), the service is quick. I'd love to stay here again.
"Average hotel in good location"

We came to this hotel for one night. It is very close to Taj Mahal. The staff was very helpful and friendly. They teached us some more words in Hindi. They also had facilities for our driver. The size of the room was OK, but room, bed and bath were not very clean. The food at the roof restaurant was excellent. Unfortunately is was very loud during night within the hotel because of children running and screaming around.
"Jewel for a Jewel"

When I arrived in Agra I was met by a reasonably upright taxi who took me to nearly seven hotels. The seventh was Hotel Daawat, which was head and shoulders above these comparable hotels in the medium price range, in terms of its proximity and alacrity. Located roughly 1200m from the Taj, the hotel has a majestic yet understated charm to it, highlighted by a delightful and artistic-friendly rooftop, where the restaurant is located and where one encounters two separate stages, which serve as hidden away podiums for Indian music (which you can listen to (live) as you eat your food). The food was very tasty and well prepared, equal, you may say, to the task the Hotel had set for itself: to offer the best possible primer for visiting the world's most beautiful building. Some rooms provide a direct view of the Taj,; mine did and I can't express how glorious it was to awaken to the site of the Taj. in the morning. Let me also add that the service was top notch, led by the owner, Amachu whose warmth and genteel was matched only by his willingness to assist you (with me, my traveling plans). I can't say enough good things about this hotel; it is an experience maker has much as it meets its task: it is a jewel next to the crowning Jewel in Agra.
"Thanks for the Friendly and Helpful Service"

We came upon the Hotel Daawat Palace by chance when we got to Agra and it was a great find. The hotel is family owned and when we were there was being managed by the son's owner Amachu he could not have been more friendly or helpful and made a really good impression with our group. The hotel is well located for the Taj Mahal, being within easy walking distance of the South Gate. The room we stayed in was fine and afforded us a view of the Taj Mahal. We ate at the roof top restaurant while we were there and found the food and staff to be excellent. Thanks to Amachu and his staff for making our stay in Agra and at the Hotel Daawat Palace so memorable.
"My stay in Dawat Palace"
10/06/14 Subham P Dehradun, India
Hotel is in good location. Staffs are very friendly and helpful. Food in roof top restaurant is excellent. The rooms are somewhat smaller in size. Overall it was a pleasant stay. I used my personal car. The parking facility is alright.
"Probably the best hotel (quality-price) in agra"
10/06/14 Claudia L
It's worth booking in this hotel. The staff is very kind, professional and they will help you with information about the city. The price is accessible. I hardly recommend this hotel if you will visit Agra.
"Great chicken tikka"

We ordered chicken tikka and they brought us chikken tikka massala, so they gave us a complimentary extra dish which was really nice. Owner and staff are really friendly and the rooftop is nice and comfortable. Will definitely come back next time!
