The hotel location is a spectacular combination of lush rainforest and palm tree lined beachfront. The local monkeys added unique entertainment value on a daily basis. The bungalow style rooms are quaint, but a little outdated. The Seashell Beach Cafe was a highpoint with friendly staff, waterfront meals and live music. Overall, the Mutiara Burau Bay Beach Resort was an excellent value in a spectacular location. The location is close to the cable car, but not very close to shopping or restaurants.

I am impressed by the hotel ambiance, its clean and nice but after knowing a little more staying there, its not the kind of hotel for family. Its 3 bed per room, is really small and the stair levels are high at some point to walk up. Quality of staff - minimal interaction but tries to help. Clean hotel. Located to Kuah town and close to the shops, car rental service. We spent whole day and night outside so only used the hotel to sleep. The only thing that bothers me is that the sound from the toilet of adjacent rooms (water rushing in, etc) is way too intrusive so I wont recommend just because of that. Otherwise its an OK hotel.

Small rooms but clean and fresh. We had the room back in the hotel with "the view" to a small back yard. Enough to get the light in and quiet is all I wanted and what I got. Rooms with window to the road may maybe be a bit nosier?
