Ibis Shinjuku is inexpensive, accessible, and convenient. The room itself is larger than many in Tokyo. Some street noise, but did not affect sleep. Staff was helpful and polite.

One of the twin bed is not level and we did not bother to request for a change of bed or room as we are a party of 4 we prefer to be next room of each other. Location is near to JR Shinjuku Station with Airport Bus from Haneda Airport and Limousine to Narita Airport. Hotel personnel are well conversant in English and very helpful. Spoil for choice eateries surrounding the hotel including machine operation ramen store for guests staying at this hotel. The hallways were dark and gloomy which made the hotel feel a bit old and run down and did not match the rooms. However, the room was well lit, nicely decorated and the bed was very comfortable. The hotel was close to one of the main shopping areas and a 5 minute walk to the train station (7 lines going through the station). For Tokyo the rooms were a reasonable size for the price paid. Stayed at Ibis twice in 2 weeks. First visit was a single room, call it a micro room. But typically Japanese clean quiet and well appointed. Second visit I got put in a twin room for 15 percent LESS money. The twin room was palatial by comparison. And it had a window and an outlook! This hotel is very handy to Shinjuku Stn.

Short walk from one of shinjukus stations.. Busy shinjukus streets right out the door! added bonus maccas down stairs if u need a late night snack ;) when I first walked into the hotel room I laughed! It really is not the most spacious rooms.. I stayed in a double, it was difficult getting my suitcase pass the end of the bed which was basically impossible! […] Second night I stayed in a twin which seems to have more room to move around but I would say there's much space again.. But after the initial minor disappointment you'll get over it pretty quick as it is amazingly located, clean, staff incredibly nice and helpful, cleaning staff do a great job.. No complaints at all.. We were only in the room when we needed to sleep other than that outside ur doorstep everything was avaloable for u.. Even 24hr maccas basically under the hotel.. Free wifi! We stayed at this hotel for 7 nights in May/June 2012, and were suprised with the "strange" services that we received. First, the hotel was only willing to provide us with ONE SINGLE key card for a twin room! We explained to the staff at the reception that each guest would need to have access to the room during different times of the day. However, the […] staff just kept repeating that there would be only ONE SINGLE key card for the room! This was really our first experience of such kind for hotels around the world! Another strange thing about this hotel is, the cleaning staff would only empty trash that is in the trash bin. We had to put trash like empty food containers and drink bottles on the ground next to the bin as the bin was full. However, the cleaning staff would just leave them on the ground and would not take them away. So when we returned to the room later during the day with the air condition off, the smell was terrible! So what could we do? We had to make a "trash hill" every night with the trash bin so that the cleaning staff would empty all trash in the room! Moreover, the security is bad. The reception of the hotel is located on the first floor, but the elevators could actually go straight down to the ground floor (street level). So virtually anyone from the streets could go to any floor of the hotel without seeing a hotel staff! There is a card sensor inside the elevators, but you DON'T have to put your key card on it to make them work! Read more

This is one of those typically tiny Japanese hotel rooms. It's functional. However, it is the location that is so great. If you want somewhere central but don't want to pay five star prices, this hotel is fine. They seem to have a problem with static in the hotel as there is a little pad near the main elevators, which you can touch to try and eliminate […] the zapps, but I was constantly getting zapped. The room has a small, frosted window that partially opens, so no city views for me. The bathroom does have a slight aroma of damp/drains, but it wasn't so bad and you wouldn't notice it in the room with the door closed.
