"Good place to stay but not centrally located"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 11, 2013
Overall, I definitely recommend this place for the price. It's listed as a hostel with shared accommodations, but that doesn't seem accurate. I had a private room with a private bathroom. Owner and family honest beyond reproach. I took a taxi from the bus station to the hotel earlier. Meter cab fare was €5.50. Owner's wife called me a cab to return to the bus station. Fare this time was €2.00. That's a first. Very comfortable room. Large, comfortable bed. Owner (Mr. Saki) extremely nice and helpful. Provided tourist books and maps on loan during stay. Super-fast, free wifi Internet in the room. Satellite TV with every conceivable channel in the room. Amazing shower water pressure with plenty of hot water. Cool lighted shower nozzle. Room was clean, but throw rugs were past their lifespans--a bit stained. Tiny stove and refrigerator in the room. Not very useful. Refrigerator wasn't cold. Stove was pretty ragged. but I had no need for a stove or refrigerator. Heater in the room was okay, but I like it cool. It was set on MAX all night and it never got above 65 F, but that was perfect for me. Not centrally located. 25-min walk to the historical part of the city, but I like walking. Return is uphill much of the way.
"Excellent"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Oct 11, 2012
Hotel Vardar is located just inside the old city walls (be advised that while they offer free parking, you have to get instructions from the front desk. The lot is just outside the old city walls and across the canal). They staff were very friendly and helpful and the associated restaurant (not the one in the hotel) Galion was the best meal we ate on our trip. Get the mussels you want regret it! Included continental breakfast was a tad disappointing but there was enough variety that I can't really complain. Our room was spectacular with a view right onto the old city square/main gate. We were on the top floor so noise was never an issue. Bathrooms and finishings were very comfortable.
"outstanding service"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Oct 8, 2012
The staff was friendly and very helpful. The breakfast was excellent and served in the garden patio under giant olive trees. We ate most of our meals there because it was so good.
"Hotel with a view of Kotor"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Aug 21, 2012
A clean hotel, and close by to Kotor. You still have to drive to Kotor, but it is a short drive. The staff is nice, and has a pleasant location that you can view the city walls of Kotor. Note: the road it is on is right next to the sea, and very narrow.
"Right downtown"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Aug 18, 2012
I really loved our stay at the hotel. It's perfectly located in the centre of the city; really close by to all major sights. The hotel is quite large, and nicely furnished. The hotel offers free breakfast. Rights close to the hotel is a casino. Overall, I would highly recommend it.
