Nice big room, kitchenette small. TV big ! Daily service very nice. Lots of outdoor space, but bring bug spray. Pool centrally located. Just south of Oak Bluff, nice and quiet, if that is what you want. Pet friendly, but watch out, there are skunks in them there woods.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A beautiful place to get away from it all!"

My husband and I spent a long weekend over Columbus Day at the Island Inn. After a beautiful 45 minute ferry ride over to the island and a quick stop for lunch in Oak Bluffs, we arrived at the Island Inn. After a long busy few weeks of working, we were looking for a little r & r, and the Island Inn offered just that. Our room was clean, comfortable and located on the ground floor, which was easily accessible to our car. It also had a small kitchenette, complete with a coffee maker so I didn't have to go far for my morning coffee. The grounds are beautiful and the resort is tucked away from the busy towns and but close enough when we wanted to explore.. If you are looking to get away, I recommend trying this hotel, we were very pleased.

We stay there this past summer and had rooms 41 and 45. After the first night we found little bugs and blood spots on the sheets of the king size bed upstairs. I had little bites on my leg. We brought this to the attention of the manager, but he said it was a tick. I brought one home in a bag and looked it up on the interenet. Sure enough it was a bed bug. The management lies to the guests.
"Island Inn - Oak Bluffs, I call it "God's country""

My husband & I recently stayed 2 nights at the Island Inn for my nephew's wedding. The room was clean but the bed was too soft. The location of the hotel was great (close to town). The waiters/waitresses were attentive during the reception held at (Hooked Seafood Restaurant). The food served at the reception was very good. I would stay there again.
"Terrific Place for Conference/Events Organizers"

I run a fair-sized writer's conference on Martha's Vineyard every fall, and cannot say enough terrific things about how consistently accommodating, pleasant, cheerful, flexible, and helpful the Island Inn staff and management are. They work with us throughout the year, take delivery on drop-shipments of supplies and beverages, and work hard to make sure we have everything we need. The housekeeping staff is cheerful and courteous. The grounds are lovely. The room rates are very reasonable. There's even an experienced caterer on staff. I fully expect we'll be returning every year as long as they'll host us.
"Excellent service, wonderful views"

I attended a writing conference at the Island Inn. Every moment of my stay was wonderful. The beds were comfortable, the service was wonderful. The rooms were spacious; at one point we had ten people sitting in one room writing, and it never felt crowded. The ocean sounds from nearby made each night lovely, and it's a very short walk into town. There is a full-size fridge and the kitchen had everything we needed to use. Great location and a place I'll stay again if I ever return to the island.
"Nice place, great location"

The room was kept immaculately clean by pleasant staff, and the location was quiet, peaceful and surrounded by green. At night, through open windows I heard the surf crashing on the shore. Wonderful. The state park beach is a short walk away, and is safely on the bike/pedestrian path, not on the roads. The kitchen was well-supplied with glassware, plates, bowls, etc, and the hot water flowed despite a 'full house' in the inn. Great location for a group.
"Perfect spot for a group event"

The room was spacious and clean, the kitchen was totally functional (and has a full-size fridge; useful for minimizing trips to town,) the grounds were lovely, and the location was just gorgeous. The meeting space in the basement was excellent as well - great for all kinds of purposes.
"Great place for conference or vacation"

I have to say I was truly surprised at how nice my apartment was. Clean. Kitchen well supplied with utensils, etc. Beautiful area, lovely walk along the beach road into Oak Bluffs, even easier on a bike. 1.5 miles maybe? Very friendly and attentive staff. Highly recommended.
"Island Inn on Martha's Vineyard: Lovely but uninsulated"
10/23/13 Leigh W Ottawa, Canada
I had a sublime experience here. You couldn't ask for more helpful and attentive staff. There are no words for the location and the buildings are delightful. A Condo style room will accomodate a family, having three beds and 1.5 baths. This is a superb location for group activities. The staff are experienced and will be flexible and supportive. It is not possible to say enough for how reliable they are. The only issues are that the lovely bare ceilings don't insulate very well but townhouse style units are on the top floor where this might not be an issue. The conference room chairs are fine for a few hours but any more and you will feel it. The balconies are not private, but rather a deck that runs around the building. This is nice if you're staying with a group. Hot water is iffy in the morning if the building is full but fine in the evening. Building G is not completely accessible to the mobility impaired as the doors are not automated, but there are no stairs to the ground floor condos or the basement conference room. Our group had one person with limited mobility and she managed ok. It's a reasonable and pretty walk into Oak Bluffs. You will have access to over-water sunrises, bioluminescent jellyfish, and sports activities.
"Great vacation apartments"

I went as part of a large group for a conference, and we took over building G. The lowest level is a conference room. The first floor of rooms is condos, and the second is the townhouses. I was in one of the townhouses, room 41. I thought the layout was nice, though the stairs to the upstairs bedroom are rather terrifying. I had a couple nitpicky issues, primarily the lack of outlets by the beds in the twin room. I had to move the bed away from the wall to charge my phone in an outlet at the foot of the bed. Also, there is only one shower, so multiple users will need to plan ahead. The seawall is a short walk to the left, and to the right is a beach access on a bridge where you can watch bioluminescent jellyfish come in with the tide at night. Downtown is a (long) walk or a short drive. Overall, I liked my stay at the Island Inn.
