This was a great stay. The room was huge and comfortable with a nice canopy bed, plenty of storage, and a nice TV. View was amazing as we could see the ocean from our 3rd floor room. The bathroom was very large with a giant tub that easily fit 2. The shower was lovely and a nice size, though the water pressure could of been a bit better. The location of this hotel was perfect. We came in at Edinburgh Waverly and several buses (5, 44, 113, 24X) all stop RIGHT in front of the hotel. There is an ASDA (walmart super store) with a wonderful breakfast cafe about 10 minutes walk. Porto Bella is about 15 minutes away which is a gorgeous little beach front area with an amazing cafe in the swim center that makes homemade food. The bus will get you into Edinburgh in about 30-45 minutes. Edinburgh castle, Arthur's seat, the Parliament, etc is all there. One of the best hotels I have stayed in at a great price. The Bistro, Bar and Restaurant downstairs were good but very expensive.

Located in Edinburgh (Merchiston), Martin's Guesthouse is close to King's Theatre, Edinburgh International Conference Centre, and Murrayfield Stadium. Also nearby are Edinburgh Castle and Greyfriars Kirk.

Everything was great but we had the downstairs flat and the cigarette butts on the patio were rather nasty. Wouldn't take much to clean up. The breakfast... was sufficient, but easily the weakest of our 3 wks in Ireland/Scotland. Location was wonderful - parked the car and took the bus for the 3 days we were there. Nice guest house, very friendly staff, good breakfast. Room was nice but it was chilly despite having the heat on high the entire time. Good location near train station and bus stop for downtown right outside. Lots of restaurants and cafés nearby.

I chose Martin's first and foremost for location and price. I needed a B+B close to a train station and the Edinburgh International Conference Centre so it was perfect for both. The room was spotlessly clean, comfortable and provided a very pleasant environment for my stay. I would highly recommend the full cooked breakfast too, it was a treat! Choice […] on menu and sitting times for breakfast in my view were first class. Two very minor negatives were that I found it impossible to get a wi-fi connection after 6pm and on Saturday night at around 10pm I went downstairs to ask about the internet access, rang the bell several times and no-one came to see me. Having said that, it wasn't a huge issue for me so I would definitely recommend Martin's to anyone and I will use the Guest House again. Read more

The hotel is ok,but when I go to bed at 23:30,I check out the bedding has not been changed! Then I pick up duvet cover and sheet from cabinet in hall way due to too late to call a staff.I am very disappoint to live this hotel.

Fin beliggenhed, 30 meter til nærmeste bus og kun 5 min kørsel til centrum. Da vi ankom blev vi modtaget af nogle forvirrede håndværkere der ikke kunne finde nøglen til vores hytte, efter en del besvær fik vi dog vores hytte. Morgenmaden var lidt skuffende. Ellers en meget flink ejer, han var dog næsten ikke hjemme under vores ophold.

Compared to a hotel Martins questhouse had a nice relaxed atmosphere. It was very quiet, even if it is situated by a larger road. It does have some stairs, so one has to ask for a room in the ground floor to avoid it. The breakfast was nice.

Frokosten var kjempegod med et bred utvalg av varmretter, og rommet var passe stort og veldig hjemmekoselig. Eneste vi har å utsette på var at rommet ikke hadde eget kjøleskap, vi bodde der en uke så syntes i alle fall vi […] at det hadde vært fint å kunne oppbevare litt hverdagsmat på rommet. Mycket vänlig och hjälpsam personal. Hade föredragit frukostbuffee men att få välja sin frukost kvällen innan var en annorlunda upplevelse. Lite dammigt på rummet och lösa dörrhandtag men servicen var perfekt med mycket gemyt och hemtrevnad.
