Spent a week here and have to say , this meets a very good balance for value vs quality. The staff was always very nice and helpful, the room was turned every morning at 9 am. The tv was a bit testy, but that is a cable issue , not the hotels fault. I would advise to purchase the breakfast and wi fi when you book, if you buy it there....very expensive. […] The neighborhood is Manila. Deal with it. This is not Singapore or Japan, there is no " good " side of town. The streets are safe, but it does make one nervous who is not used to being in a poorer country. Last note : the taxi from the hotel will try to rip you off. I had 2 and they shut off meter and try to barter after you are on the way. You can flag your own or be ready to haggle. The Centara Hotel's name changed to The Armada Hotel Manila in the suburb Malate. It is near the main Roxas Blvd and conveniently located near Robinsons mall and the Mall of Asia via a quick taxi cab ride. The hotel staff are very cordial, accommodating, helpful and friendly. The breakfast was phenomenal. I was not expecting a full Asian inspired breakfast […] which included soup, rice and main courses. (Equivalent to a brunch buffet). They also had other common breakfast items (cold and hot, continental, etc.) The room was extremely comfortable and had all the amenities and comforts of home. For the rate, this hotel is a great find. Neighborhood is not that bad really. Staff very helpful and friendly. But I did ask the front desk for something on Sunday which turned out to be something they couldn't provide till Monday but they didn't tell me that till Monday. Not a big fan of the rainfall type shower head, but some people like it. I wonder […] if they can program the TVs in each room to skip the channels the hotel doesn't subscribe to. Room service menu could improve w/ more vegetarian options. Simple things like oatmeal or a bean soup. At the breakfast, attention to detail could improve (running out of butter, e.g.) or refilling coffee more promptly. On-site spa with masseuses great but they should allow outside providers to come to guest rooms when their own spa is closed. Book on line and stayed 5 nights, great deal with the summer rates. Only complaint would be after the hotel cleaned my room, turned off the air conditioning and came back from a day on the town to a warm room. Other than that, hotel was great, nice spread for breakfast in the morning.

The doorman would not open the door for us because of our nationality, but he did open it for foreigners. This is really a very nice hotel especially for the price that we paid. The rooms are spacious and always clean. Our housekeeper was Wesley and he did an amazing job of keeping our room clean. If I had one complaint about the room it would be the bathroom. It's a very odd setup for a shower/tub combination which lacks enclosure so water from the shower […] tends to go everywhere and the bathroom floor was constantly soaked after each shower which kind of created a hazardous situation with slippery conditions. The breakfast buffet was adequate but they really need to add a little variety as it seemed like the same stuff day after day but the staff in the restaurant was very good and very attentive which made for a pleasant breakfast experience. The rooftop pool was very nice and gave you a beautiful view of the city. We were very fortunate that there was a fireworks display nearby on the night that we were at the pool. This is an almost brand new hotel. It is immaculate and really very pretty in the rooms. Everything works great and the staff was wonderful. They spoke good English, were proactive in their desire to be helpful and really good at their jobs. But Manilas metro is not very good. It is regularly patrolled by taxis and is on a Jeepney route so Jeepneys pass frequently. It is a good location in Malate.. I am a budget traveler and have been all over Asia and the world. Overall, this is one of the best hotels I have ever found. I heartily recommend it. I will use it every time I am in Manila. This hotel is a real gem. We arrived after 5 days sailing wanting a bit of luxury and that's what we got. We were upgraded to a suite on arrival which was a lovely surprise and the room was exceptional - a huge bedroom, comfortable oversized bed, a lovely view of Manilla bay, a powerful shower. There's a lovely rooftop pool which is a suitable size […] for swimming lengths. Hotel staff are polite and efficient. Breakfast was good. Malate, the area where the hotel is based, is 'authentic' Manila in the sense it's a bit run down and sketchy in places - if you're looking for a more sterile and modern part of Manilla then maybe look for hotels in Makati instead (although this is just like an city financial district and lacks character). 5일간 여행을 위해 본 호텔에 묵었습니다. 호텔 위치는 상당히 괜찮습니다. 시내를 고루 둘러보려면 마카티보다는 말라테 중심지가 더욱 좋죠... 호텔에서 제공하는 팍상한투어, 탈레이트 데이투어를 이용했습니다. 도요타의 이노바가 배차되었는데 운전을 편하게 잘 해줘서 두 투어 모두 아주 만족스럽게 마쳤습니다. 전체적인 서비스도 상당히 친절합니다. 다만 사진에 비해서 객실이 약간은 떨어진다는 사실 명심하시고 너무큰 기대는 하지 마시기 바랍니다. 약간 사진빨이 있네요
