What a treat to find a dog friendly bed and breakfast! The ranch is beautiful with plenty of hiking. It is just the look you'd expect in southern Arizona.... The decor includes many interesting pieces from the owners' travels, and a delightful breakfast is offered. The owners couldn't have been more accommodating. The Lazy Dog Ranch is set between Sierra Vista and Tombstone but off the beaten path - which was exactly what we were looking for! It was so nice to be able to bring our golden retriever with us since dogs were welcome. The owners have 3 gigantic dogs of their own but were very friendly. Wish we had more time to relax but we will be back again!

My finance and I spent one night at the Lazy Dog Ranch. The room was very nice and the bed was comfortable enough, but there was no heat. Instead they had a radiator space heater, but it only worked to heat the 2 feet of space around it, leaving the rest of the room very chilly (according to the heater it was 70, but the rest of the room was probably […] less). It was so cold that we were unable to enjoy our stay at all. We could only be in the room if under the covers and so we went to bed at 9pm. They did give us plenty of blankets but that cause the uncomfortable problem of sweating to death under the covers while freezing any body part not covered. The owners were very friendly and really tried to make the place nice, but with the room so uncomfortable we got a horrible nights sleep and were groggy all the next day. The breakfast was nice with a fair amount of variety and it was nice seeing the animals, 2 horses, 2 donkeys and a goat, plus 3 dogs and a cat. Overall it would be a nice place to stay in the spring or maybe fall but not in winter, and I don't know about summer because a place without heat probably also doesn't have air conditioning. This was our first stay at a Bed and Breakfast and it will be our last, hotels only for us from now on. Read more
