"Amazing private slice of paradise"
The double pool villa was absolutely amazing. It was very private, luxurious, and breath taking. It's by far the best "hotel" I've ever stayed at. The only minor complaint is that it might be *too* private, so you feel a bit isolated. However, I'd encourage you to skip the room service and instead check out either the beach restaurants or some of the […] restaurants in town that provide free roundtrip transportation (Siam Supper club was our favorite). "The best experience!!"
I've been to many hotels and resorts around the world, and Double Pool Villas by Banyan Tree was the best pool villa I've been to!! Everything was just perfect and I and my husband had the best vacation. Also there's a personal assistant who gives you a cell phone and he comes right away when you call. "Wonderful stay at the Doublepool Villas"
Stayed at the Doublepool Villas in early December for a week of rest and chill out. Having read all the trip advisor reviews, we had high expectations - am pleased to say we were not disappointed in anyway. Villas are HUGE! Exquisitely appointed, and an absolute delight to stay in. A special mention must go to the French Vietnamese restaurant, Tre. […] We went on the last night of our trip - wish we'd gone earlier. Wonderful food and atmosphere. Guests need to be aware that the villas are not really walking distance from reception and bars/restaurants - not a problem because a golf buggy is provided whenever you need a lift, and bikes are available for use throughout your stay (if you can cope with cycling in the heat!). Would return without any hesitation - just need to start saving. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by DoublePool Villas by Banyan Tree Dear Valued Guest, I am so glad you decided to visit us for the first time following the online reviews of tremendous stories of great impressions towards Banyan Tree Phuket. This resort is an incredible escape, a place for rejuvenation of your body, mind and soul. We are proud that we managed to offer you what you had come to expect. The whole Banyan Tree resort is beautiful - however the Double Pool Villas are their top end dwellings and they do not disappoint. The Villa is incredible, the pool at the back is the largest private pool I have had, and the rest of the villa doesn't disappoint either. Would definitely recommend this hotel - perfect for a romantic getaway or a hone […] ymoon. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
The villa is very spacious and the facilities are well maintained. Only improvement may be to clean the kitchen outside the entrance as obviously the trash after cleaning up the villa was dumped there although temporarily, it gives quite unpleasant smell when we walked through the entrance.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Genuine Expedia guest review
Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Amazing villas which I considere as really exceptional"

We spent one week in this property, which is 5 mins by bicycle or buggy from an immense sandy beach and worm sea waters. A butler was assign to us 24/7. The service was efficient and perfectly executed. Our villa was a pure dream. I could not have imagined, in spite of our worldwide travelling, that we could have a villa of this unbelievable quality and design, with a 14x4 meters swimming pool and an incredible Jacuzzi just for us. A large bed in our Master bedroom surrounded by waters. The view was stunning as well. A real dream, quiet, peaceful. A kitchen completely equipped, with a fridge full of fruit juices, and fruit,s was the icing on the cake.
"Outstanding service and a beautiful serene property"
It isn't often that I feel the urge to write reviews but given the string of events over the last 48 hours, I am truly impressed with the standards that this hotel sets in terms of overall customer service and hospitality. We had decided on a spontaneous trip to Phuket, a place we like to call our second home whenever life gets too stressful in the city. We like to stay at a different property each time we visit and this time we decided to give the very well renowned Banyan Tree a shot. We made our booking via the phone with the reservations team who were efficient, helpful and nice. We booked ourselves in their DoublePool Villa (which is a part of Banyan Tree and on the same property). The hotel not only organised a car to pick us up upon our arrival in to Phuket, but expedited us through the fast track at immigration. The staff really made our hectic day of traveling much more at ease and the attention to detail was evident right from the beginning. Upon arrival at the Hotel, we were taken by buggy to our double pool villa where we checked in with our personal butler Aob who we liked from the very first greeting. Imagine a butler who has just enough personality that is both professional but at the same time humorous. He is clearly well trained and accustom to demanding guests like my wife. Given this was a short trip, he offered to run my errands for me and personally went to town to pick up things I had requested. Additionally, we were given a mobile phone on which we would have direct access to Aob at anytime of the day. This bat phone was magic. The villa was beautiful and spacious, it is rare to find a resort who has villas with pools as big as ours. This is a huge plus, most of the time the so called in room pool is more like a glorified bathtub and you find yourself spending all your time in the hotel communal pool. The bedroom is standalone (no tv) but this is all part of the banyan tree experience, or so at least they say. The second pool surrounds the master bedroom but I doubt it gets used much. There is also a tv lounge and a outdoor-ish living room and sitting area that separates the bedroom and the tv lounge. We noticed immediately that there were a ton of insects but we are no stranger to this. The property lies around a Laguna with small ponds and therefore the guests are treated to all types of insects, bugs and reptiles. This really isn't banyan trees fault as they really focus on maintaining the elimination of these problems. On our first night on the way to our fabulous hot tub time machine we encountered a large snake slithering against our villa windows, quite the experience. I am told that the villa edges are sprayed with sulphur routinely to avoid these sort of creepy visitors. We informed the duty manager who was so kind to come personally and escort us to another villa immediately, needless to say we were too scared to go for a midnight skinny dip. The next day, we were greeted by the DPV Manager Thananchawan Phadkred (Aor) , a lovely Thai lady who is so attentive, understanding and caring, I wouldn't be surprised if she is running one of the Banyan Tree Resorts in the near future. She understood our needs immediately and moved us to a 2 Bedroom Double Pool Villa, which doesn't have the indoor/outdoor space separating the TV lounge and the master bedroom which means less creepy crawlies. FYI, the second kiddie bedroom has a TV. They settled us in and moved all our belongings for us while we enjoyed a delicious breakfast buffet. If the F&B manager ever reads this, I hope they never remove the Crab Curry Noodles from their breakfast selection. Truly epic! Room service is also phenomenal. They clearly pay attention to maintaining the local Thai flavour in their dishes. We have stayed at all the other top resorts in Phuket, and their in-room dining is definitely amongst the top. We usually don't like to eat at the restaurants in a hotel but the food here is of superior quality. Our butler Aob was always happy to assist us in anything we needed with a smile on his face. He had this magical ability to appear whenever you needed him to and then disappear again without leaving a trace. During the course of the next 24 hours in our attempt to replicate Jay and Beyoncé Thailand experience we some how managed to get ourselves into a mini motorcycle accident (suprise suprise). There were a number of cuts and road burns. As we rushed back to the villa we informed the operator and within minutes our whole team comes rushing through the door, our butler Aob was pooring water and handing towels while Aor was there orchestrating the show and holding my wife's hand, a real superwoman. Even the medical team deserve huge props. Calm, professional and most importantly so so kind and sweet, these people really want to help. Like any hotel, there are small glitches and issues. On the down side they could really update their entertainment system and perhaps invest in outdoor speakers instead of having to call Aub to plug in an extension cable all the way from inside. The property is really big so be prepared to do a lot of biking, this can be good if you are not lazy like me. Most if not all the double pool villas aren't close to the beach, so no chance of an ocean view however it does look over some of the golf course. Having stayed pretty much everywhere else there is to stay on the island, I have to say the Banyan Tree really does an outstanding job at making you feel at home and their problems are far less compared to other properties. They clearly have an eye for detail and the heart to follow it through. As I sit here on the patio next to our huge pool, I can't think of anywhere else I would rather be.

We visited the Banyan Tree Double Tree Villas in March 2015 and had a fabulous time. Our villa host was Bank who was excellent, he dealt with all our needs efficiently and with a welcome smile on every occasion. Wonderful service. The villa we stayed in was huge with more than enough space for all our needs and more. The villa was well maintained and had a lovely pool, garden and patio surround. We had breakfast in the villa (at no extra costs) which was great, all soft drinks and snacks were also included at no extra charge. The villa is a few minutes from the beach by buggy, the buggies are efficient and wait time was not an issue. We expected the beach to be busy but there were only a few people around. It is sandy and you can walk along it to the other hotels along the beach. You can also dine and drink in the other hotels in the complex and have these charged to your room. Food in the Banyan Tree was of a very good quality. We have visited a number of Banyan Tree properties (we love the brand, it always delivers the same quality product), the Phuket Banyan Tree was perhaps the biggest we have been too and so a little busier. We travelled out on a couple of occasions to see the local nightlife which was interesting and colourful especially if you like to party! Taxis were good value and plentiful with a trip costing perhaps £10 each way. We also went to see James Bond island which was a bit touristy but the scenery was lovely. The added visits to the trip we went on to the gypsy village, caves and the kayaking were a little timid and for us not really worth the time. Would we recommend the Double Pool villas – yes indeed, especially for the space of the villa and quality of finish. Perhaps our only reservation was other than the aforementioned Bank (our villa host) service was a little less person because of the size of the property and of course there are no sea views which we missed (but of course we knew this before we booked).
"Peaceful and relaxing. Glourious!"
My husband booked a villa at this resort as a second honeymoon / birthday treat for us and it was the perfect spot for us. We were blown away by our DoublePool Villa, we walked around with our jaws dropped for the first couple of days. Incredibly beautiful, peaceful and we wanted for nothing. The staff went above and beyond - especially on my birthday when they surprised us with cake and gifts. If you're not yet sold, let me tell you - there was complementary ice cream brought to our door at 4pm daily!! Although our villa was basically as far away as you could get from the main complex (where breakfast etc was), this was no trouble at all, the walk was quite pleasent or we could use the bicycles stationed outside our Villa for our personal use, or we could even call our designated Butler (yes, I said Butler!) to come pick us up in a golf buggy on the mobile phone he'd given us for the week. The cleaning staff were excellent too, very efficient and friendly. Our only vague negative was that our 'Privacy' light on the villa was out of order which nearly lead to some 'interesting' moments! The resort make it very easy for you to move between nearby hotels if you wish to dine elsewhere with a shuttle service which was very efficient. They have scope to develop their service at the beach and evening activites, but it is present and the beach itself was idyllic - clear waters and soft sand for long stretches and only a very short stroll from the main complex. I would go back in the blink of an eye! Although they were full to capacity I still barely saw anyone, so if you like peaceful and relaxing, this is the place for you!

It is a long journey to Phuket from the uk, but worth the effort to experience the stunning Banyan Tree villa hotel. There are several different styles of villa; we chose a Double Pool Villa as a place to relax and re-energise ourselves and it did not disappoint. The accommodation is loosely grouped around lagoons. Our villa had a swimming pool with a glass sided Jacuzzi within it, and a lovely view over the lagoon. Bicycles were available for the more energetic visitors and buggies could be called for the less able (me!) to get around the resort. Bars, restaurants, free-form pool, spa, gym, and golf are available, and a programme of varied activities to enjoy. Shuttle busses or ferry boats carried people to the nearby Canal Village for shopping along with dental and medical services if needed. We were met by a villa host, Joy, who took us to our villa and showed us the lovely accommodation it provided, namely a loggia, living room, bedroom, massive bathroom with a wardrobe area, toilet and shower cubicles. There is also a large terrace with table and chairs, sunbeds and an outside shower, all set in a garden area overlooking the lagoon. The loggia is semi open from a walkway from the main entrance, and with doors onto the terrace. The bedroom is a glass enclosure set in a wading pool. This pool is illuminated at night and, with the curtains open, is a lovely, calm and peaceful place to be. The living room has huge daybed affair to lounge on to watch tv, or have a cool snooze away from the heat of the day. We wanted a place that was a destination in itself, not just somewhere to shower, sleep and store our luggage between dashing to one place and another, and it was just what we needed. We enjoyed a full body massage in the spa to revive us from the travelling, and went out and about a little locally. We also booked 2 tours - elephant riding, and a sea kayak adventure reviewed separately. The restaurants and bars we used were lovely, cocktail happy hour was a treat. All the staff we met, and there were very many, were lovely, helpful and always smiling. The manager is a pleasant man who makes a point of meeting his visitors and making them welcome. People who book accommodation in tropical areas can expect to encounter local wildlife, often in their rooms. Geckos in a hotel room are good and not to be screamed about or squashed as they will not come near people but will catch and eat mosquitos. For a time we had a very small frog living in the loggia, butterflies and dragonflies, geckos and more. Most were welcome, a few were safely removed, by us or staff when needed. It is pointless going to these countries and getting upset about ants, flies, mosquitos, snakes, lizards etc. It their home first.
"second visit ... different experience... same impressions"

After 10 months we decided again to visit Phuket afer comparing it to other options like Maldives and Seychelles. This time we went for a double pool villa and we were really excited about many things. We definetly going to visit the hotel again in few years and I have visited both Phuket and Bali and I believe Phuket is better place than Bali. What we liked: host service were amazing... thanks to Ray Spa unbelievable Double Pool Villa is wonderful Suggestions to the hotel I think 2 bedroom double pool villa is more suitable to a family with children who are not dependent on their parents as the villa design places the second bedroom away from the master bedroom. I would suggest if the hotel can mention on their website each villa is suitable which family. Bicycles are great and I am not sure if there is dedicated area where parents can use their bikes and have also other bicycles suitable for toddlers so everyone can have fun… I have seen small bicycles but more suitable for teenagers. I also would like to suggest if the management can provide removable sun shades on the pool so we can use the swimming pool between 12 to 2 pm. During my both stays I have never had any issue and wait for my 3rd visit …

I love this resort so much and have such fond memories. The villa host and staff can't do enough for you. They even let us name our villa and take the sign home with us. Every evening there would be cocktails, a boat playing music drifting through the river, a little gift waiting for you on your bed... it is bliss! and the pool is HUGE!! the hotel is far away from the horrible city centre. Paradise in Phuket.

have stayed in single pool villa at Banyan Tree in Phuket before but once you've stayed at the Double Pool you're hooked. Cleanliness, service, the little extra, the peace, tranquility, stunning views say it all, it is a little slice of paradise. Kim our butler was terrific, he did everything he could to ensure our stay was wonderful. The thai street market night at Saffron was really good. prices in hotel are steep no denying that, but you get what you pay for, mostly. The spa is a must and massages, as one expects, are brilliant. This won't be our last visit !
"A slice of paradise"
We stayed at the Banyan Tree Phuket in a double pool villa for 10 nights, and we loved every minute of our holiday in this little piece of paradise. The hotel is celebrating it’s 20th anniversary this year and it is clear why it has lasted the distance, with it’s idyllic location, top quality villas, restaurants and spa and the most courteous and welcoming staff you could find. We arranged for the hotel transfer from the airport, and the holiday started right there…what better way to arrive than to be welcomed out of the static 100 person plus immigration line by a Laguna rep and invited to proceed through the staff only area which had no queue, have your bags collected and then be escorted directly to a waiting air-con Mercedes. Great first impression! On arrival our villa did not disappoint either, the double pool villas are in the gorgeous lagoon setting, in well maintained grounds and are enormous and luxurious. If you enjoy wildlife this is a great place to see it, the birds and butterflies are abundant and we had a resident kingfisher to watch by our pool. Whilst we spent most of our time at our own villa enjoying the peaceful sun terrace and private pool, we also found the resort pool area just as inviting and enjoyed riding around the resort on our complimentary bikes each day. The gym and daily pilates & yoga classes are excellent, with great instructors for the classes and the spa treatments are wonderful too. Breakfast is a fantastic affair, with everything you could wish for and more! The complimentary in-villa ice cream and cocktail in the afternoon and the free drinks happy hour at the lobby bar are another lovely touch. All the restaurants that we ate at were fantastic: Saffron, Tamarind and especially Tre at the Banyan, and Ruen Thai & La Trattoria at the Dusit Thani all have amazing food and service. The Xana beach club at Angsana is great for a relaxed day or evening meal looking out on the sea too.The free bus and boat shuttles between the Laguna hotels make it really easy to get around. Could not have asked for a more perfect holiday, thank you to all at the Banyan Tree, especially Kwan our excellent villa host for looking after us so well. I am very sure we will be back...likely with friends in tow after they hear all about it!

The two bedroom villa that we stayed in was just perfect. Beautiful pools, nice and spacious bedrooms and a bathtub filled with orchid. Big thanks to our villa host, Aob, who is extremely helpful, caring and could always anticipate our needs and prepare for us. Additional credit goes to the hotel's special offer due to the 20th anniversary. We had discount in spa, golfing, dinning, shopping and tour etc. Wide choice of food in buffet breakfast, maybe the best Thai food in their Thai restaurant, the ice cream man, and no. 1 spa service, simply catch all of my family's hearts. It's worth to pay more for the brilliant experience. The only disappointment is that the hotel was undergoing certain renovation / extension work which affect the golf course and entrance. Looking forward to see a more beautiful banyan tree in our next visit!
