Dartington is a special place, a restored medieval hall. Very beautiful and the rooms are up to 21st. century standards. The one mild problem was the WIFI was touchy; one had to stand by the window for it to work. Very reasonable priced.

The hosts here are so friendly, the area walking distance to the beach and eateries, the rooms very clean and beds comfortable. We had a little trouble with the new heat system, but I am sure it is sorted out now. Wonderful delicious breakfast. I highly recommend. We loved the restaurant they recommended to us also.

Beautiful location, however it is a number of single track lanes to get there. Very friendly and helpful inn keepers. Great breakfast. Enjoyable to walk the 240 acre farm. Convenient to other local sights in Devon.

I booked the Elmdene after reading reviews online and am happy to say it met my high expectations. It was just like stating in a 4 star hotel but with... the added bonus of personal service from a family run business. The rooms were wonderful and the breakfast cooked to order by Carol was amazing. We stayed for one week and the service was top class every day. The room was very clean and comfortable, with the little extras that make all the difference. The breakfast was perfect and plenty of choice. We would definitely stop here again.

Our weekend break to the Elmdene Hotel in Torquay could not have been better. The hotel stands in a quiet street and is ideally situated for days out sightseeing, the beach, town and harbour area where you can find plenty of places to eat. The hotel is well maintained and tastefully decorated throughout. We booked the Superior Suite Room, which was […] better than we hoped. The room was spotlessly clean with a light airy feel. There is a sitting room, through a door off the bedroom, a pleasant extra, where there is a second flat screen TV, DVD player and a 2 seater leather settee. There is plenty of choice for breakfast, fruit juices, cereals, fruits, nuts, scotch pancakes, tea and coffee and of course a full English breakfast which is cooked to order and well worth the wait. The proprietors’ Carol and Andy could not have been more welcoming, always willing to help in any way they can. We enjoyed our stay so much we plan to return later in the year. Read more
