We were surprised by a few things about the hotel: 1 - CheckIn 3pm, Checkout 10am(Watch Out). 2 - Bathroom = Fully Molded (Shower+Floor+Toilet = All in One Compact Unit) 3-Room very compact for 1 Twin+1 Double- Hardly any walking space. 4- AC- Remote is in Japanese-Good luck figuring out the controls 5 - 1 Flight of Stairs (15 steps) have to be climbed […] from the street level to get your luggage to the checkin level. 6-Only 1 small elevator - there's a wait during checkout times. 7-Only 1 key for the room 8-No vault in the room . PROS: Close to the subway(Okobu Station) Beware - no English instructions at this station. Room is clean - bed didn't feel like Select Comfort mattress. It's a place to crash for the night. Has toiletries(Soap, shampoo, hair brush, razor). Budget location. Hotel entrance is directly on the street - so, getting in / out of cabs must be done with caution. Staff speaks some English. Will need to get a cab to go to any popular places in Shinjuku. Overpriced for amenities. Read more

We got a room with a double bed and a twin bed for 2 nights. We were impressed with the size of the room, especially for Shinjuku. The window was frosted so we could not look outside, and there is a sliding net on the bottom of the window to let in air. There were not many really nice eating places near the hotel. Nice hotel, esp for the money. Note that there are stairs at the entry, so you have to schlep your luggage about a 1/2 a flight after a long trip. Room is small, but fine. Just spent 5 nights in this hotel. The rooms and bathrooms were not really spotless but it's ok. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location was very nice. Multiple nice and cheap japanese restaurants next to it (Ramen, Traditional Jap, Korean, Bakeries, even McDonalds and Yoshinoya). shops, convenience stores and subway all within a a few blocks. I thought this was a great hotel for the price. The rooms are kind of small, but we really didn't spend much time in there so it wasn't an issue. 1. During one of the nights, as i was staying on the same level as their office. There was door banging for almost three hours straight. Kids running around with the sound of their slippers clapping against the carpet. That being said, there is almost zero sound isolation at this "hotel". Which means that if anyone were to open and close their door […] at your level, be prepared to hear a "bang" sound. Try sleeping in that kind of situation. Went out to see what's going on. It's actually the management having some kind of party in their office, which explains the loud noises and constant opening and closing of doors. All this happening at around 1AM in the morning. They were unapologetic even after talking to them politely twice that we were trying to sleep. 2. THERE IS NO WIFI CONNECTIVITY IN YOUR ROOM. Only available in the lobby. Enough said. How much is it to install access points in your building? Imagine going down the lobby every night just to surf the net. PATHETIC. 3. The well-known stairs that leads to this lobby maybe not an issue at first. Try 9 days of constant shopping and see how your reaction is when you arrive at your hotel with the mindset of nothing but rest. Read more

Close to station, friendly and helpful staff, let us keep our luggage including ski bags even after we checked out, its basic and small but clean and tidy and price was really good. I would recommend it to a friend. Staff spoke basic but ok english. Also very cheap 4 dollars breakfast is definitely worth it.

For a family of four (2 adults with 2 kids)....Tokyo Plaza Hotel proved to be a comfortable hotel, that was affordable and very convenient in regards to chemist, supermarkets and restaurants, two train stations and a really great bakery (nearer Shin Okubu). Good sized room. It's actually a standard size for double in Japan. You can move around without issues. The bathroom is the Toto modular cube system that is prevailant in Japanese hotels. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Located close to the train line and lots of places to eat on the same street. The hotel was conveniently located 100m from the Shin-Okubo station (JR system) and from there you can get anywhere in Tokyo. The receptionists were very friendly and very helpful. The hotel was conveniently placed, close to public transport (which was essential). The rooms were small but within the price range, beds were OK except the pillows were too hard. Rooms were well maintained. I wish there Television system would cater for English speaking visitors, they had 14 Japanese TV stations.

Convenient to the JR Line, so it's easy to get to Shibuya, Shinjuku and other places. The hotel was surprisingly big for Tokyo (except the bathroom of course) and was really clean. No complaints really except the 10am checkout (with 1000yen per extra hour).

A clean and neat hotel only one stop from Shinjuku station. The rooms were a good size and the beds were comfy. The staff were very friendly and breakfast was available at a good price at the cafe next to the lobby. Wifi was also available in the lobby but limited in rooms. Best to use a cable in the rooms.

One minus point is the room is small but I supposed most Tokyo hotels are known to be small. Plus points include convenience of hotel location, just 2 mins from train station, plenty of food eateries and shopping! Oh yes, it's located in Korea town so definitely a plus point for Kpop fans. Even the lobby has its own Kpop cafe and bar :)

The single room was totally perfect! The room wasn't very big but it is suitable to one person stay. The room was tidy and clean. The location of the hotel is right from Shin Okubo station which is only a station from Shinjuku, I love it!

Bra storlek på rummet, vi hade ett 3-bäddsrum. Minimalt badrum men funkade. WiFi:n fungerade inte på vårt rum (6:e våningen) utan måste gå ut i korridoren. Billig enkel frukost med ägg, bacon och toast. Fräscha lokaler i lobbyn och frukostrummet. Mycket trevligt område i Okubo, nära till Yamanote-line med många tåg. Många bra restauranger med Koreansk […] mat. Tyvärr trängde en del cigarettlukt in på vårt rökfria rum då 6:e våningen hade ett rökrum men inte så farligt om man inte är väldigt känslig. ツインルームを利用しました。部屋も広くきれいで、場所などは便利でとても良かったのですが、バスタブで一人シャワーを浴びると排水されずに詰まってしまいました。「髪の毛を取り除いてください」とあらかじめ書いてありましたが、取っても流れるまでに結構な時間がかかりました。それにしてもあの流れなさ加減はストレスになりました。
