Albinas Hotel Old City - Istanbul

Very well located (a short walk to the Blue Mosque), yet VERY quiet at night. Also had the most comfortable bed and pillows of the whole trip. And the shower had great water pressure. The staff could not have been more friendly and accommodating, and I felt completely safe at all times in the surrounding neighborhood. The Albinas Hotel is conveniently located to the major sites. The cost of airport transfer offered by hotel was expensive, but very convenient and the drivers were wonderful, so worth it to us. Not surprisingly, the rooms are a bit snug, and the breakfast was only decent, but the staff was friendly, and we could see the Blue Mosque from our window. It's an uphill climb to it, Topkapi, and Hagia Sophia, but they are all close. If you are looking for a reasonably priced hotel in the Old City, I would recommend it.

All the staff at Albinas was fantastic. They are friendly and attentive, really made me fill like I was staying at a friend's home instead of a hotel. regular sized smaller European rooms, very clean bathroom. Fantastic location with walking distance to just about all major locations in Istanbul. Great help from the staff regarding what to see and do, and help getting cabs, or anything else needed. well recommended.

Great boutique hotel. Staff was genuinely interested in providing assistance. Good variety for breakfast every morning. Not a luxury hotel but certainly a great hotel for the price. On website, hotel offers airport pickup. HOWEVER WHAT THEY DON'T TELL YOU IS THAT THEY ARE CHARGING 25 euros for this van service, which involves waiting for all the passengers to be collected. This is almost double the cost of a metered taxi!!!! I complained and the management graciously dropped the charge.

Albinas is a nice small hotel in the heart of Sultanahmet area, so if you want to be close to most attractions (Blue Mosque, Aya Sophia, Top Kapi) they are all in walking distance. This hotel was a great choice for our stay in Istanbul. The location is great, only about a 5 minute walk from the hotel to the Blue Mosque. The buffet breakfast was incredible. You could choose between bread, buns, a different kind of egg each day, cold cuts, cheeses, fruit, yogurt, jams/jellies/honey, Turkish delight, nuts, pastries, fruit juices, […] coffee, tea and milk. The breakfast was filling enough that most days we only purchased one other meal. The beds were comfortable - they felt a little like a memory foam type of mattress. There were only two things which could be seen as less than perfect. The first was that our bathroom (which was retrofitted into the building) had a mold issue. If the bathroom window was not left open, the smell was really strong and unpleasant. When the bathroom window was open it was not a problem. This wasn't an issue for us, we kept the window open and the door to the bathroom closed all the time, so we never smelled it in our room. But if you were staying there in winter when it would be too cold to keep the window open, I could see this being a problem. Secondly, our door lock kept malfunctioning and we kept having to get the front desk to let us into our room. Once again, not an issue for us, we were on the 1st floor and the staff was great about it, but I thought I would mention it as for some people that would set them off. We would not hesitate to book with this hotel again and recommend it. Read more

The hotel was perfect for a trip to Istanbul. It was in a location where all of the main sites were within an easy walking distance and about 10 minute walk to the metro. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Very friendly concierge who can help with planning your stay and trips to/from the airport.

Old City location is hard to beat, but even taxi drivers have trouble navigating all the tiny winding streets! Hotel is recently refurbished/finished and staff are very helpful and enthusiastic - keen to please. Rooms are spacious, clean and fresh.
