Well managed hotel - very friendly and accommodating staff. Food choice was somewhat limited, but adequately compensated by a variety of options in the city which is about a couple of miles away.

Very friendly and welcoming staff. Rooms a bit small but clean and highly functional. Big bonus is access to excellent gym next door. Can be busy near the holiday season as they have a lot of holiday/office parties, but the noise level from the revellers has not been too bad!

We had a wonderful time at Staden Grange. The atmosphere is relaxing with excellent hosts and terrific breakfast options that include a local flair (e.g., the oatcake). The rooms had everything we needed and then some, including a tea kettle, slippers, etc. You'll likely need a car or be willing to walk a mile or so into Buxton to stay here, but otherwise, we absolutely loved our stay.

Minor problem end of Summer Time. The hotel has no staff on duty after the pub closes until 6 AM. For some reason the heating system tripped at 2 AM and room temperature dropped to 45F. No problems other nights.

Lovely, lovely place: charming, comfortable, cozy; hotel restaurant has fab food; located in great countryside and village.Difficult without own transport as infrequent trains and buses and no taxis but hotel is situated on main walking route to Peaks.

Very comfortable room with four-poster bed and sofa in the window. Staff could not do enough to help and were always friendly and pleasant. Good food in the evenings and enormous breakfasts. Can thoroughly recommend and would stay again there!
