The Corus was a good value for the money - especially after walking into some of the other private hotels in the area....the room was clean and spacious by European standards. The towels were a little worn as was the carpet and the upholstered furniture - but the bed had crisp linens and the bath was very clean. With little time spent in the room, I would consider staying there again for the price.

"Stay Away!"
Filthy bathroom with leaking toilet so the floor was always wet, which probably would explain the horrible mildew smell and the mold covering all the grout. The first floor window didn't close completely or lock and the room smelled like pee. No tv, but a wall mount for one, nasty fridge and dirty tea cups just add to the ambiance. Get the picture? It was a terrible place. No hot water at all in either sink or shower. Had to use bathroom off hall for hot water shower. Entire hotel was dirty-walls & rugs. Wallpaper in breakfast room falling off walls at ceiling because of leaks. Doorbell ringing all hrs of night. Next to railroad tracks. "Awful! Don't stay here."
Do not believe the pictures of this hotel, it is nothing like what it looks on the website! The place is dirty and smells of damp, stains on carpet, cracked glass in window. Awful second hand mismatched furniture, no hot water, leaky sink, horrible wet smelly bath mat. We had a strange humming vibrating noise all through the night from the plumbing […] which kept us awake! There isn't really anything I could recommend about this place at all, it is by far the worst place we have ever stayed in! Alright so it's a 1 star but I don't think it should even have that 1 star it really is that terrible! I've stayed in 1 star hotels before that are way above this place. It was a bad joke, the room was a combination of unmatched and disfunctional knick knacks. Clever! the bathroom needed a desperate refurbishment and cleaning, I mean really!!!!!!!!!!.... one would/should be ashamed of accepting any guest to such conditions, but a paying customer.The shower had obviously not cleaned after the previous customer, the soap […] was previously used, the whole bathroom was horribly smelly...thanks to the sewage problem that despite being in desperate need, I opted out taking a shower under such filthy /smelly conditions.The so-called breakfast was a combination of some toast pieces,poss.leftover, some marmalade filled in a small jam jar and some butter again looked like passed over from another table. "Fawlty Towers experience - but with more dirt"
This place should not be operating - we arrived having booked one night to be told any further nights would have to be paid in cash - this is suspicious in itself. First room door wouldn't open - staff broke key off in door and had to hack the door jam to pieces to get us back in. Stayed one night in that room - without a locking door - told we would […] be moved to"nicer" room the following day. No rooms available the next day so spent second night with no locking door - wish I hadn't paid up front. Supposed "Nicer" room was loud, dirty, and smelt of mould - on main road with no blackout curtains.. No hot water to shower- toilet leaking and not firmly affixed to the floor - bare pipes showing - looked like a 3 year old had gone mad with a silicon gun. Dodgy floor board in first room - wasn't game to walk around one side of bed. I have photos of this place - it really does beggar belief!!!! - Under no circumstance stay here. Staff (one couple on 24 hours day) tried hard - but only so much can be done. I can't stand the thought of others being caught in this dump. Please heed advice - there is no value here. "You get what you pay for!"
The owners of this hotel describe it as a Luxury bed and breakfast, it is far from. The wallpaper is hanging from the walls, curtains were hanging off their rails and most of the paintwork was pealing off. In my room, the bathroom was less than clean - there was a used sticking plaster resting on top of the shower screen, the toilet looked like it […] hadn't been cleaned in weeks and when I sat on the toilet seat I nearly fell off, because it wasn't fastened on properly. Happily I discovered that the bedding and towels were clean, although when i bent over to pick something up off the floor I did notice that the carpet hadn't been vacuumed in weeks either. To top it all off, the complimentary tea and coffee looked like it had been sat in the room for quite a while and there was no milk. Lastly, the breakfast. Thankfully I don't like a cooked breafast in a morning, which is a good thing because there wasn't one. Breakfast consisted of a selection of cereals, a couple of slices of toast with margarine and jam in little pots that obviously hadn't been washed between refills, and a glass of squash. I eventually got some tea, but at the end of the meal. Finally, I had to ring the doorbell everytime I wanted to get into the hotel as we weren't provided with a front door key. The only good thing about this hotel, is that thankfully the staff are friendly and helpfull. Overall, It was cheap, the bed was clean and the staff friendly, but I wouldn't stay there again. Ce genre d’hôtel est assez courant en Angleterre. Il s'agit d'une grande maison avec plusieurs chambre. Il ne correspond pas au standing de ce que l'on attend d'un hôtel 3 étoiles. La réception se fait directement par le couple qui tient la maison ce qui implique que lorsque vous rentrez tard, vous réveillez a coup sûr le réceptionniste. Les chambres […] du rez de chaussée ne sont pas confortable, nous entendons la sonnerie de la porte d'entrée ainsi que les discussions de palier lorsque les clients entrent. La douche était hors service ( pas d'eau chaude et pas de pression dans le jet). En conclusion l'hôtel est décevant et trop cher pour les prestations offertes. Ved ankomsten blev vi bedt om betaling èn gang til - beløbet ville snarest blive tilbagebetalt. Vi nægtede dobbeltbetaling og indehaveren opgav så. Værelset ok - stort, lyst, god og ren seng, køleskab, fladskærms tv, bord med kaffe og te, gode skabe og to lænestole. Badeværelset lille men ok og altid varmt vand. Omgivelserne lettere slidte, men vi fandt […] det helt ok til prisen. Morgenmaden ikke"full English breakfast" - valgfri te/kaffe, to skiver ristet brød, margarine, syltetøj og tre slags cornflakes - næste dag reduceret til to. Glemt at købe mere!! Morgenmaden først klar efter at have vækket vagten. Nat nr.2 vågnede vi ved lyden af rindende vand på badeværelset - en klud sat i et utæt vandrør var røget ud!! Den trætte nattevagt satte kluden i igen - skaden ville blive udbedret i løbet af dagen. Ved hjemkomsten om aftenen havde han glemt at sige det til værten, så vandet løb stadig. Forsøgte at udbedre skaden, mens vi ventede. Nødvendigt at flytte til et nyt værelse næste dag, hvis vandet stadig løbsagde de!! Det gjorde det, men vi sagde ikke noget, da vi var glade for værelset, vi tog bare sko på, når vi gik på toilettet. Personalet viste sig aldrig på værelset! Ved afrejse gjorde vi opmærksom på, at vandet fortsat sivede ud, værten takkede os fordi vi ikke havde klaget og tilbød os at blive der en uge længere!!
