The Cuthbert House Inn - Beaufort

This was my first stay at a Bed and Breakfast and it was a wonderful experience. The home was absolutely gorgeous. Our room was beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable. No detail was missed. Breakfast was delicious and the hosts were so friendly and accommodating. We will definitely be back. I loved it!

Cuthbert House Inn was one of the nicest B&B's we have ever stayed in. Our room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. We loved the little courtyard off our room and especially the front porch for late afternoon lazing and reading. After viewing two other B & B’s nearby we fell in love with this 200 year old home. It sits on the bay with amazing views from all the porches & from our gorgeous room on the 2nd floor. Jeff & Mary Ann were wonderful hosts and we met the most interesting people during the social hour each evening (wine along with cheese & crackers are provided). Breakfast […] was wonderful each morning and as a coffee lover I enjoyed the on hand Kuerig that could be used anytime throughout the day. The complimentary bikes were in wonderful condition and we enjoyed using them while exploring the quaint town of Beaufort. Though it's located on the main strip so you can walk to the shops & eateries. Great little getaway with loads of charm! If you want the true B & B experience then this is the place. Read more

A pleasant stay, but nothing to write home about. Bed & linens good, room spacious and neat but not gorgeous. Corners & in-behinds need a spring cleaning. Bathroom clean but the shower (Victorian Room) was a 30" x 30" acrylic unit; functional but not a great bathroom for a romantic weekend. Didn't love the demeanor of the twenty-something girl who checked […] us in -- she had an air of wishing she worked some place more cool, and was just going through the scripted "shpiel" but certainly wasn't interested in us or making our experience more positive (the weather was just miserable; some cheer wouldn't have gone amiss). Appreciated the free wi-fi, good breakfast with good coffee and fresh fruit to start. Great location for walks/runs; gorgeous view of the water. Clearly having some structural issues; hope they are being watched carefully to preserve the life of this aging beauty (talking about the house, not me). Read more

The hotel was beautiful, but I had to request a changed of room because I was offered a room that was not part of the main house. Lately, every time I reseve a room through hotels.com I am not given very good rooms at the hotels where I had made reservations.

The Cuthbert House has been beautifully restored. No detail was ingnored in our room. We had a lovely view of the waterfront. The room was large and airy. Greatly appreciated being able to have our dog stay with us and dog sitters are in the neighborhood provided by Beaufort Dog. Half of a block from churches, one block from carriage tours, two blocks from great shopping and you are part of the historic old South. Great bed and breakfast place. Right in the heart of the quaint town of Beaufort. The breakfast was a treat, gourmet, home-cooking. The bikes were available without any extra charge. There is even a grand piano in the living room for any one who likes to play on it. Sections of the Inn need some TLC otherwise perfect! This charming hotel is a winner. Hosts Jeff and Mary Anne are hands-on proprietors serving wine and hors d'oeuvres 5-6pm and morning brekafast 8-9:30am. Location is EXCELLENT and the experience is luxury!

Loved our stay in the Oak Room, top floor, in the oak trees. Small but cozy and great shower. Wonderful breakfast and terrific hosts. Be sure to borrow the bikes and tour Beaufort.

This is more a B&B or small inn than hotel . Our stay was perfect except that my husband had to carry our luggage up 3 flights of stairs. For the price, I would expect some young muscle to do the job!
