our stay was more than we could have imaged. this lodge is situated far enough from the central/city area to enjoy some nice & quiet time. it was great especially after summiting onto the top of kili. the room was very clean, even had a very nice mosquito net that covered both beds, the room was well-lit, the restroom was great in operation & design […] & lastly, the staff: they were all a pleasure to speak to & very smiley/friendly to deal with: eva, maggy, diana, bakari, just to name a few. the only drawback if you can even say, is that town is farther to get to (10 to 15 minutes away by taxi only), BUT they easily rectify this with free taxi into & back from 10am to 4pm. the taxi ride outside of those times were rather inexpensive otherwise. because of the distance from town, this place is totally a retreat from the hustle & bustling of town. definitely, not a drawback in my book but a strength. one other thing that is of great note is that eva was a doll when it came to arranging visits to 2 local orphanages/children's home. as a successful family run business, this staff reaches out to their comminuity to improve upon conditions around them, even if it simply means to place a smile on local kid's faces for a day. on top of superior services, excellent facilities conditions, this lodge is a community leader. this is a MUST for all those who wants a GREAT getaway. I spent a week at Planet Lodge. The staff was very friendly. A complimentary shuttle allowed me to go into town. As Arusha is very busy and it was nice to come back out of the city to enjoy the beautiful grounds, pool, peace and quiet. Thanks

the hotel is out of town in a farming area. The hotel is new. gardens and pool are nice. There is a noisy bus stop outside the pool area. The hotel has a great view of mount meru. Dinner is excellent, free breakfast is excellent Service is excellent.

It was comfortable, quiet and with beautiful surroundings. Getting to the hotel from Arusha was abit of a struggle as directions were not very clear but we managed eventually. Overall - a pleasant stay with very friendly staff

the room was ok except for the mosquito net was ineffective and torn, and there was no fan or AC. The pool was nice. the reception wouldn't honor a deal they had posted online after we had already booked. there is nothing within walking distance of the hotel. they charge more in person than online.

We stayed 2 nights at planet lodge and we definitely enjoyed it very much. We had just finished climbing Mt Kilimanjaro so Planet Lodge was just the perfect place to relax especially with the pool. The place is a little outside Arusha so its good to be away from the town in a nice surrounding with view of Mt Meru. My only comment was that when we arrived the rooms were very hot. However the most important thing was that they were mosquito free and very clean. All the staff were fantastic and very accommodating. Although it is a bit out of the way there is a complementary taxi which takes you into to town and picks you up every day.

Our first problem was finding it. It is off the beaten track too far from town. There are no notices on the road or outside hotel apart from one miniscule one.. If we had gone there in the dark we would not have had any chance of finding it. In fact even though we had been inside when wereturned from town, late at night, we found ourselves completely […] lost along a dirt road because there was no adequate sign outside the hotel.We phoned the reception but they did not have enough English to help us.The hotel is new but very functional in design and lacking charm. The room lacked tea or coffee or a comfortable chair and no TV. There is no point meeting you at reception with a hot towel and juice if u have to wait for the restaurant to open to get tea and coffee.The breakfast was a normal cheap hotel breakfast, but the bread they served was inedible as it was very sweet. Tanzania has plenty of good bread, why do the give this type. service was pleasant, but the hotel needs to do something extra toimprove the atmmosphere.Less cement coloured walls and ash driveways perhaps. We cancelled the second night becausewe knew we could getbetter value elswhere. Read more

Good value for money - nice gardens with pool. Meal in restaurant was good. All staff very friendly and helpful. They were happy to arrange transfers to Kilimanjaro airport at 3 am in the morning.

Good value for money woried about area when first approching hotel but turned out to be a very relaxing place to be in after the dust & driving of the game parks. Pool & garden were great. We are 2 retired people from Australia and stayed here for 2 nights' rest after a safari in Tanzania. The reception staff were extremely helpful in organising someone to accompany us for the 1 km walk to visit St Jude's School nearby. Anyone visiting Arusha should definately go to this inspiring school to see how they are fighting poverty through education […] and Planet Lodge is conveniently located for just this. Stayed here one night before safari. Choice it because of the swimmingpool, which was nice after a long flight from Europe. The rooms were nice and clean. Food in restaurant, was not the best, but ok. Quite far away from the center of Arusha, so choose this place if you just want to relax at the hotel, as we did.

3 Nächte waren okay. Airporttransfer und ins Zentrum konnten problemlos arrangiert werden. Die Anlage ist etwa 6km von Arusha entfernt. Bauarbeiten an der Zufahrtsstraße störten nicht. Das Hotel liegt ca. 7 km ausserhalb vom Stadtzentrum bietet aber einen gratis Shuttelservice an. Abfahrt 10 Uhr, Rueckfahrt 16 Uhr. Will man nicht so lange in der Stadt bleiben, gelangt man fuer weniger als 1 Dollar per Dalla Dalla (oeffentliche kleine Busse) und Motorrad-Taxi zurueck zum Hotel. Prima hotel, alleen ver van Arusha. Taxi kost 25 dollar. Het hotel heeft wel pendelbusjes die elk uur gaan voor 8 dollar en je naar een vast punt in Arusha brengen.

`Goed omheinde lodge.Veel groen, mooie tuin, met zicht op Mount Meru. Daarbuiten is een heel andere wereld. Een zandweg, waar stofwolken van overwaaien als er vrachtwagens overheen rijden. Personeel is vriendelijk, hulpvaardig. De kamer is groot, muskietennet, balkon. Groot restaurant, Mooi terras.

Voici un hotel qui a ouvert récemment (septembre) il y avait très peu d'avis mais je n'ai pas regretté mon choix. J'y ai passé 2 jours avant le safari et il s'agit d'un endroit parfait pour se reposer pour le retour également. Accueil très chaleureux. Personnel serviable. Il est à 10km de Arusha mais il en vaut vraiment la peine. Je le recommande vivement […] pour couple, famille ou personne seule.
