"Clean hotel in a good location"
Stayed in hotel for one night and paid extra on arrival for breakfast. The hotel is very clean and modern decor. Our room was comfortable although it was very hot during the night. Parking in the hotel car park cost an extra £5 on departure also. Location is very close to the river but not so close to town centre restaurants etc. A taxi into the very […] centre did however only cost £5 Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

15 minute walk into the city center, but we stayed for 4 nights and got a great deal on the price, nice and quiet area, and would deffinatly stay hear again......RecommendedGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Good hotel on quayside location. Easy to walk to Newcastle or use the bus which stops right outside, if you don't fancy the walk. Staff are friendly and helpful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Ramada Encore Newcastle-Gateshead Thanks for the review Chris. Much appreciated. Alastair
Great hotel reasonable price and good breakfast. Plenty of parking. The only problem was room on the front was baking hot at night and if you opened the window for fresh air then it was very noisy. It's probably much quieter at the back of the hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Ramada Encore Newcastle-Gateshead Thanks for the review. I'm pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay but sorry to hear that the room was hot and noisy. I hope you enjoyed the rest of your stay. Regards Alastair
Just an overnight stay to visit relative in hospital. Hotel quality great.Genuine Expedia guest review
"One night in Gateshead"
We stayed at this hotel, principally because of the price for a one night stay coupled with reviews shown were excellent. We found the room, with a very large bed, in very clean condition. The staff were very friendly and the meals which we had were very good and reasonably priced. I have no qualms in recommending the Ramada Encore hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
"What a disappointment"
If you like a hotel room that looks and feel likes it was made out of ikea seconds then this place is for you. The hotel looks nice from the outside but as soon as you get into your room you'll find a bed that either has sheets that don't fit or one where your feet are higher than your head. The bathroom doors swing open and smack into the room door […] non stop, and there is NO air conditioning in the hotel so expect a hot room and no air. If you leave the window open (you'll have no choice) you'll be at the wrath of the fighting in the car park at 4am from drunk stag parties like I was and a sleepless night. I was moved rooms but they downgraded me and offered no price difference and it had all the same problems. When questioned about this the hotel management didn't seem to care and simply offered a free breakfast. Won't be staying again! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great hotel at a good price"
No problem with the hotel - great location, spacious clean room, massive king size bed. Only problem was the parking - you have to pay for it but there wasn't enough space to accommodate all the vehicles. I had parked up, checked in and then nipped out to meet friends but when I came back there were no spaces left. Because most of the parking was on […] gravel there were no marked bays so some guests had parked really selfishly and left masses of space between vehicles, although not enough to let anything other than a smart car park there. All the hotel needs to do is put up parking notices asking people to park sensibly. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Middle of summer and it hotter in the room than outside! Couldn't sleep and couldn't open a Window. No aircon.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Excellent base for a Tyneside stay"
Easy to find. Convenient and well-priced parking. Good size, modern room with comfortable large bed. Handily placed 5 minutes walk from Millennium Bridge and onwards into Newcastle. Would happily use again.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great value base for our Ashes Trip"
Great value for our two nights when attending the now historic fourth day of the Fourth Ashes Test. Beds comfortable, very friendly and helpful staff, good buffet breakfast, storage space in the room limited but adequate. Conveniently located for the Quayside etc., easy access to bus transport to Chester-le-StreetGenuine Expedia guest review
"Excellent in every way"
Exactly what we wanted and nothing could be better. All staff were unusually helpful.Genuine Expedia guest review
Excellent reception and bar staff - very helpful. Towels and tea/coffee not replaced by housekeeping! Good to have free wi-fi and easy to use. Handy for the Sage. Too hot in room - could do with air conditioning. I wouldn't like to stay there in very hot weather.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Ramada Encore Newcastle-Gateshead Hi Thanks for the review. Really glad to hear you found the staff friendly and the location and wi-fi good. My apologies you found the room hot and that the room supplies weren't replenished. I will mention this to our Housekeeping contractor. Thanks. See you again. Alastair
"Good position for the attractions"
Beware that weekends are stag and hen parties so avoid a room by the bar. Air conditioning is not available and on a hot night the rooms can get very hot. Service is good and cheap to park the carGenuine Expedia guest review
"Welcoming staff and reasonable price!"
We were greeted pleasantly and the room was very adequate, containing a huge bed. The room was clean and had a view of the Sage and a partial view of the river. It was reasonably priced and we shall be back! The only gripe is the £5 nightly parking charge.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

The facilities are new and it's very close to Sage Gageshed. But the hotel use red and black as the feature colors which provide dis-comfortable feeling to me.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Nice clean hotel"
This was a lovely clean hotel which is well positioned for the quayside and the athletics stadium which was where we were visiting the following day. The rooms don't have wardrobes though there are hanging rails. The bathroom is very nice with wet rooms for showers so no baths. The bedding could've been a bit ore comfy with a nicer duvet but overall […] was OK. There is a £5 charge to park in the hotel car park which seems a bit steep when you are paying to stay in the hotel anyway. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast ( also an extra cost payable on arrival ) was very tasty. All in all, a good hotel which is in a prime location for the quayside restaurants, the shopping centre (short bus ride away) and the athletics stadium. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Good for all."
Reception staff very good, room very good, position of hotel very good. Did not eat at hotel, so cant judge the food.Genuine Expedia guest review
I was very surprised at the level of service and comfort I received at the Ramada, for the price I paid. I had a stupidly large bed, amazing walk-in shower/wet room, and the room service was first class. Overall, a great hotel and I will definitely be staying here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Enjoyed the trip. It is very much a business hotel, but the food was good, the rooms comfortable and, providing you don't mind walking, it is not too far to walk into the centre of NewcastleGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good - could be better..."
Good basic business hotel. Clean, modern , good location, nice size rooms, decent restaurant and bar. Only downside was no drawers to put clothes away, and the shower was "wet room" which is fine if it was contained but the water went everywhere so made it not very nice after showering to have a shave standing in an inch of now cold water!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Does what it says on the box (actually is the box)"
Perfectly acceptable chain hotel. Clean, tidy and well staffed but like most such hotels absolutely devoid of any individuality, character or charm.Genuine Expedia guest review
Nice place but £5 a day to park. Very limited breakfast choices. Very basic bar area. Had to remind them of a 10% food and drink discount they had themselves promoted. No view of the river.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very nice hotel, friendly staff and perfect location with a short walk to city center.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellent value and room"
Stayed overnight for business. The room was excellent with size and deco. Service was excellent as well as well as the catering service staff, very friendly and helpful. The location was nice, quiet and convenient to city centre. The only problem is it's not recognised easily by gps thus it took me quite a while to find it during dark night.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
short walk to the city centre. good breakfast too.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Perfect for what I wanted"
I stayed here simply because my son lives a couple of minutes walk away and it was cheaper than the even nearer Jurys Inn. I was on my own, had a very quiet king size room, bed was comfy and room was clean with a iatnt view of the 'blibnking bridge' across the car park. I didn't use any of the restaurants so cannot comment on them, but overall for me […] the hotel, while a bit souless was ideal for what I wanted and a very reasonable price. "Upmarket travel lodge but good for money"
Good value at £50 a night have to laugh at there effort at breakfast and £5 to park but no spaces this is an upmarket travel inn but a good stay for the moneyGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great price & location."
Stayed for 2 night on the 19th April for a night out, very pleased with the overall price & service we recieved. The only downfall was the fan noise directly outside room 110 which wasn't exactly quiet so if your in need of peace and quiet don't go to that room. Other than that very happy, we'll be back!! :)Genuine Expedia guest review
I enjoyed my stay, it was a good location being a few minute walk from the quayside. There was a lot of noise early hours of the morning but I stayed on a Friday and Saturday night on a bank holiday weekend, and you'd expect that anywhere in Newcastle being the party town it is. The hotel itself was ideal for a getaway. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. […] My only criticism would be that whenever a neighbouring rooms door went, it felt like someone was coming into our room. The doors were far too flimsy. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel right next to the Millennium Bridge"
Everything was fine with the hotel. We struggled to get hot water out of the sink in the bathroom, but other than that, everything was fine. Nice location right next to the Millennium Bridge and the Sage.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"short walk to city centre"
checked in early after staff suggested signing up to loyalty programme. room heating is electric and takes a while warming up. food reasonably priced and breakfast is all you can eatGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great place, we'll be back!"
Been here a few times now, great location, minutes away from the Quayside. Recommended!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"New hotel, nice facilities"
Good food, friendly service. Small but free to use fitness room. Parking on site is extra. The rooms are comfortable and have everything you need.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"new & shiny, a little sparse"
New and shiny and clean but the rooms are rather basic. Area is currently being developed and has many new buildings. Fairly central location. I did not need any real service or the internet, so cannot comment on this. It seemed a little expensive to me for what it was, but perhaps Gateshead is an expensive area.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good location, efficient hotel"
The Ramada-Encore is on the Gateshead side of the river, but is no more than ten minutes stroll from the Newcastle Quayside, and maybe another ten to the city centre (retail, Sy. James' park etc). Hotel is modern, efficient, breakfast is good with a decent range of options. You may well get the obligatory hen and stag parties at the weekend, but I think […] most city centre hotels in this category will. Overall, I'd definitely use the Ramada-Encore again.
